I growled in anger as I slammed the cup against the wall while shouting "Get that away from me!" The maids flinched, obviously afraid. The never-ending mistakes they made kept driving me crazy. I massaged my temples as I attempted to ease my burgeoning headache. I tried desperately to find the right words but failed to do so. The frightened maids immediately scrambled to the floor to collect broken glass but ended up rushing out of the room since they panicked and couldn't deal with the situation correctly. As I settled into my chair I let out a sigh to ease my tense nerves.
The drastic change from me being a man who rarely exhibited emotions to someone perpetually angry shocked me and she was the reason for it. I have remained this way since her departure that day when she disappeared completely. Five years have passed since she vanished yet I remain puzzled by these persistent feelings. I demonstrated that I cared for her but she still chose to leave as everyone else eventually does. I didn't understand. As soon as she dived into the water that night I jumped in after her because I wanted to save her yet she had disappeared completely. She had disappeared entirely with not a single body found afterwards. One of my doctors gave me the medication while saying to me, "Here are some pills for you, Your Majesty." I made eye contact with him for a brief second before swallowing the migraine medicine. My doctor asked me with curiosity how frequently I think about her. I paused to carefully consider what I was going to say before speaking. I think about her multiple times every single day. The doctor sighed deeply while he settled into his chair and readjusted his glasses looking for suitable questions to ask. I understood that a psychiatrist wouldn't solve my problem but occasionally I listened to their questions because I pretended they grasped my situation and could provide a solution. My problem penetrated so far that no resolution would come to light even after a millennium. The session bored me and I didn't want to respond to his questions anymore so I stared at him and ordered him to leave. The doctor stayed silent because he knew about my temper. He simply rose and left my study. After settling back into my chair I sighed when someone knocked at the door. A person stepped into the study performing a slight bow before moving towards me and then laying papers out on my table which mainly dealt with council work. I asked her about his return date and she answered. The woman said "Today, sir," nodded her head and then left the room in haste because she wanted to avoid angering me. I felt calm because of the pills I had taken earlier so I wasn't angry at that time. He was coming, and he was my twin brother Ryker. Our relationship had its flaws but it wasn't completely bad. He had voluntarily left the pack since he had no interest in becoming king and during that time he turned into a Lycan. The man who should have been our father had a memorial today which the council required us to hold. The door received a gentle knock then Veronica walked into the room. While she smiled and adjusted her dress strap I took in her entire figure before standing and moving toward her to say "No". I suddenly bent her over the table which caused her body to collide with it forcefully as she winced gently from the pain. I entered her forcefully by lifting her dress which made her wriggle and left me unable to discern if it was pain or pleasure but I was indifferent. As I thrust myself into her forcefully I kept Clara's image in my mind. I've been intimate with many women but none were her and especially not the woman I was with right then. I pulled away from her when I became frustrated and demanded she leave but she responded by simply readjusting herself and exiting the room. This woman did not attempt an escape like Clara had. I decided to freshen up in the bathroom and sighed while the cool shower water washed over me. Once I finished drying myself I put on the first black outfit I found. As I left the study I entered the main living room where people had begun the memorial ritual. All the council members had assembled and I swiftly joined them as everyone paid their respects during the collective ritual. Councilman Richard who was my father's old friend told me my brother has not arrived yet. I didn't respond immediately. He asked me if I was aware that he is going to get married soon. 'Marriage?' I asked, turning toward Councilman Richard. 'You didn't know about it?'" Ryker and I have never been close. I asked with cold detachment why I should know about this. The councilman sighed and said, Her identity remains unclear to us although people are talking about her. She stands out as an extraordinary woman." He stopped talking before he said, "I know you and your brother have always rejected marriage until now your brother wants to get married. Doesn't that seem a bit suspicious?" My brother was the last person I wanted to discuss right now. "I just think something's going on. He's involved in secret activities so I recommend you proceed with caution." Although I wanted to finish the conversation quickly and said nothing he said his words still stayed with me. Just like me Ryker never believed in marriage but his sadism exceeded mine since he was worse than a sadistic bastard. Who has to put up with marriage to him? After completing the memorial ritual we moved on to socialize with prominent attendees. As we continued to talk through the night the maids came by to deliver drinks. A voice behind me asked if I wanted a drink which annoyed me because I recognized who it belonged to. Ryker stretched his hand towards me. Ryker had a cup of an unknown beverage in his hand while his face displayed a smile. I looked at him with icy eyes as he told me "Don't worry, I didn't poison it
