"Of course I did". Damian said with a shrug. "Do you think someone like me will be attracted to someone as insignificant as you"? He asked. "I have lots of women throwing themselves at me, so why on earth will I settle for you"?
Lyra, hearing that, felt her lips quiver. "So you're the Lycan king"? She asked in what seemed like she was hoping for his answer to be in the negative.
"Lycan King Alexander Damian at your service". He replied with an exaggerated bow.
"Why did you keep it from me"? She asked unhappily with tears falling down her face.
"So, I can see the tears of betrayal as they fall down your face". Damian said, laughing evilly. "And I've got to say this, it was worth keeping that a secret. The expression on your face is priceless". He added.
"I am not going to stay here and watch you make a fool out of me". Lyra declared, as she began dragging her box of clothes towards the door.
"Where do you think you are going"? Damian asked with a scowl as he stepped up to block her path.
"I'm going back home". Lyra replied. "I will not stay here anymore, and I will have nothing to do with you". She said.
Hearing that, Damian laughed hysterically. "You are a hilarious lady, Lyra". He said, "Do you seriously think I will let you leave"? He asked.
"But you can't keep me here"! She screamed while backing away from him cautiously.
"Yes, I can do that"! Damian said before kicking her box back inside the room, causing her to fall back in shock.
While all this was going on, Imogen stood quietly by the side with a satisfied smile on her face. Seeing her sister in this state made her feel extremely happy and content.
She had always hated the fact that she wasn't the biological daughter of her parents. "Why does she have to be the one with loving parents, even though they are late, when I don't have any, or know who my parents were"? She always asked herself.
And the fact that everyone loved Lyra more than they loved her didn't make her envy and jealousy any better. She hated Imogen and had always vowed to take everything from her, including her pack, and when Lyra willingly handed the pack over to her, she felt so happy and was of the opinion that Lyra was a fool for doing that.
"She made my dreams a lot easier". She thought to herself.
"Don't worry dear sister," she said to herself. "I will take care of the pack in your absence and no one will miss you". She thought.
As if she heard Imogen's thoughts, Lyra shifted her gaze to her, while spitting out a mouthful of blood from a wound in her cheek.
"You did this, Imogen"! She screamed, while pointing at her. "You betrayed me despite the fact that I have never treated you badly". She said, "What exactly did you want that my parents didn't give you"?
"Do you really want to know"? Imogen asked with a raised eyebrow.
"That would be interesting". Damian said, with a sly smile on his lips before folding his hands to gaze at the two of them.
"Of course I want to know". Lyra replied. "I treated you like a sister from the very first day I saw you. I let you use anything that belonged to me and I stood up for you in the presence of other wolves that wanted to bully you because you weren't related to my family by blood". She said.
"So, what exactly did you want that you didn't get"? She asked. "I even gave you the pack and made sure everyone made things easier for you, so please tell me what you ever wanted, that wasn't given to you".
"I wanted unconditional love"! Imogen replied, cutting her off. "I wanted to be loved by everyone around me".
"But my dad loved you before he died ''! Lyra said. "They gave you everything you wanted".
"Sure he did". Imogen replied with an eye roll. "Why didn't he love only me"? She asked.
"Excuse me"? Lyra asked in surprise. "I existed, and I was his only daughter"!
"And what was I supposed to do about that"? Imogen asked. "I didn't see the need to have a trash sister like you, so why should they love you"? She asked, staring down at her in contempt.
"You're not making any sense"! Lyra replied in shock.
"Do I look like I care about how you feel"? Imogen asked. "You always gave me the toys you didn't want when we were kids, and you always made decisions for me".
"You never complained, and you never told me you wanted something else, so how was I supposed to know"? She asked.
"Oh, so you expect me to look like a pathetic beggar and beg you to do things the way I want them"? Imogen asked with a glare on her face. "I, Imogen will never beg anyone for anything"! She declared.
"I didn't want you to beg". Lyra replied. "You were my sister, and you still are, so I will never reduce you to begging for anything. All I wanted and still want is for you to talk to me so we can understand each other". She said.
"Keep your nonsense to yourself". Imogen said with a snort. "I do not need you anymore. You've given the pack to me and I intend to stay in control of the pack for as long as it is supernaturally possible and when I get back, I'll tell everyone how much you love it here, and I will stop everyone from coming to check up on you, not like they would be able to do anything even if they knew what your situation is here". She added with a sneer.
"You are a disgusting and evil person"! Lyra shouted in anger as she dashed towards Imogen who, in response, transformed halfway and pushed her back, prompting Lyra to crash into the wall before falling to the ground.
"Know your place, trash". She said, spitting at her form, which was sprawled on the ground with her coughing out blood.
"Sibling drama, how exciting". Damian, seeing all this, chuckled before walking up to Lyra and pulling her by her hair. "Look here Lyra, you are not going anywhere, so you had better get used to it". He said before releasing her hair and walking out of the room with Imogen behind him.
Lyra, seeing them leave with their figures being blurry in her eyes, tried calling after them, but her voice only came out in a whisper. "You will both pay for this, I swear".
