Chapter 5 Khosi is a weak girl

The officer's eyes locked onto Michael's, his expression a mixture of curiosity and skepticism. "So, you're saying that the woman who attacked you is not the same person as the one who was staying at the hotel?" he asked, his voice laced with doubt. Michael nodded, his eyes narrowing as he tried to piece together the events. "Yes, that's what I'm saying. The woman who beat me was different, but she sounded like Kosi. I think she might be a partner or a relative."

The officer's gaze drifted to the footage on his phone, his mind racing with the implications. "This changes things," he muttered, his voice barely above a whisper. "We'll need to investigate further and see if we can find any connections between the two women."

As the officer continued to question Michael, the hospital room fell silent, the only sound the soft beeping of the machines and the muted hum of the fluorescent lights overhead. The officer's eyes never left Michael's face, searching for any sign of deception or hidden motives. But Michael's expression remained resolute, his eyes fixed on some point beyond the officer's shoulder, his mind working overtime to unravel the mystery.

The officer's expression changed, his eyes narrowing as he replayed the footage in his mind. "There's something off," he muttered, his voice barely above a whisper. "The mysterious woman who beat you up comes from room 201 at the hotel, wearing black trousers. But when she enters the bar, she's still in trousers. When and how did she change into that red skirt?" He scratched his head, confusion etched on his face, the fluorescent lights overhead casting an unforgiving glare.

The officer's eyes scanned the footage again, his mind racing with possibilities. The mysterious woman's movements seemed almost... deliberate, as if she was trying to conceal something. The officer's gut told him that something wasn't quite right.

As he watched the footage, the unknown woman, Kosi, entered the bar wearing trousers, her face a mask of calm determination. She sat down, engrossed in her phone, as the time on the surveillance footage ticked by normally. However, there was no sign of a fight, and the woman in red only appeared when she was heading upstairs. The footage didn't show her getting up from the table, leaving the officer with more questions than answers.

The officer's eyes widened as realization dawned on him - the woman was more cunning than they had anticipated. She had deliberately revealed herself, possibly to conceal other evidence while the surveillance system counted down as if nothing had happened. This epiphany sent a shockwave through him, and he knew they needed expert verification of the footage.

"Mr. Brown, we'll continue investigating," he said, his voice measured. "There's more to this than meets the eye. The surveillance appears to have been tampered with. If you uncover any information, please share it with us."

Michael's response was laced with anger and disgust. "I'm a fool for involving you," he spat. "Close the case; I never asked for your interference. You were just a hindrance." The officer was taken aback by Michael's words, the venom in his tone like a slap to the face.

After the police departed, Michael contacted his assistant, his tone menacing. "Why did you involve the police?" he growled. "Don't you know how this could backfire? What if she accuses me of... things I didn't do?" He paused, collecting his thoughts, the sound of his own breathing like a ticking time bomb.

"Use your brain, and make sure you find her today," he barked. "If not, don't bother coming to work again." The line went dead, and Michael's anger hung in the air like a challenge.

His assistant's instincts had been correct, and Michael's primary concern now was that the police might discover incriminating evidence against him if they found the woman first. The stakes had just gotten higher, and Michael's anger and desperation were palpable.

At the MPA hotel, Nosy turned to K, Kosi's friend and assistant, with a stern expression. "K, you almost blew our cover this time," she said, her voice firm but controlled. "Tampering with the bar's surveillance was a mistake. I've reviewed the footage, and it's clear it was manipulated. Don't let this happen again. You were trained by Kosi, so honor her legacy." K's expression shifted, and a mix of emotions crossed his face. He had been caught off guard by Nosy's scrutiny.

Upon reviewing the footage himself, K realized his error – the woman had disappeared and reappeared in a different location, wearing a red skirt. The tampering was evident. Shock and fear gripped him as he contemplated facing Kosi's wrath. Kosi was terrifying when angry. K's thoughts drifted back to his past. As an orphan, he had been vulnerable and weak until Kosi took him under her wing. Traumatized by his parents' killers and bullied by others, K found solace in Kosi's protection and guidance. She had stood up to rich teenagers who tormented him, and from then on, K followed her lead and trained with her team.

Now, K was torn. How would he confess his mistake to Kosi? Would she forgive him, or would his error have dire consequences? He nervously pulled out his cellphone and pleaded with Nosy, "Nosy, she loves you the most, she protects you with her life. She treats you as her sister, although I'm a brother, but sisters' bond is different. Please plead for me." Nosy's expression softened slightly, and she smiled. "You kinda cute when scared, little brother," she teased. "Kosi believes in double-checking; if she was mad, she would have called and scolded you already. She protects you more than anyone, but you talk like she loves me the most. She likes you so much; the first day she saw you, she thought of her cousin who died at her stepfather's hands."

Meanwhile, Kosi contacted Joyce for the first time since 2018. The evidence gathered by K only intensified her hatred. She despised Joyce, believing she didn't deserve to be a mother or wife. After several rings, Joyce answered, her voice hesitant. "Hello?" Kosi's tone was icy, her words dripping with venom. "Joyce, my father's source of darkness, reason for death, and betrayer." She took a deep breath, composing herself.

As she spoke, she noticed men in black uniforms surrounding the hotel – Michael's men. Her eyes narrowed, her grip on the phone tightening. She continued, her voice steady, "Tell your husband I called. Say hi, and let him know I'm here for the game. Tell him every dog has his day." The line went dead, and Kosi's gaze lingered on the men outside, her mind racing with strategies and countermeasures
