Chapter 5 The Blood of An Alpha

The man who held the wounded boy and the people around shouted at another boy attempting to pounce on him. The boy stood firmly, fist tightly clenched, but didn't say a word or respond.

"Hey!" I called out. They all turned their faces to me, and then the boy turned also.

The shock I had felt literally like an electric current that ran through my skin in a second.

"Casper!"

I ran into the crowd and held my fourteen-year-old son. I pressed my palms against his cheek, looking into his eyes. I looked around his body, there was not a single bruise on him.

"What happened?"

"Look here, woman! That boy did this to my son! Step aside, let's make this even."

"I'm sorry for what happened to your son, we can make things right without getting anybody hurt. I am..."

"We know who you are!" Another man said from the crowd. "Everyone, look! This is the strange lady Tyrion said is a member of a royal family. A Lycan princess like they said who is picking the crumbs with the rest of us." They all laughed, except for the man whose son was badly beaten.

"Watch what you say about my mom, you scumbag!" Casper retorted moving towards the man in the crowd but I held him back.

The man's eyes changed, and he stirred up his wolf. "Oh, you want a fight? Come on boy, let me show you some respect."

"That's enough! Beating my son up won't solve anything." I turned to the man whose son was beaten, "Please, let me take him to the nurse to get him treated. I have herbs to speed up his healing. Please, forgive my son."

"No! I won't! Your son will be beaten as well," the man said, dropping his son on the ground and stirring up his wolf. His eyes glowed red, probably an alpha by gene.

When I saw his red eyes, my heart throbbed heavily but slowly. He took slow steps forward and I took some steps back. The other men were shouting, boosting the man's ego and annoyance.

Casper stood behind me, and I whispered, "Casper, he is an alpha, you have to run."

"No. I can't leave you, ma."

"Do as I say. Run, now!"

Casper ran out and the man moved to chase after him but I stood in his way. He growled and gave out a deep beast voice. He slapped me with his hard, large arm.

I didn't hear anything for a while, only a high-pitched screeching sound. My sight was blurry and I felt light on my head. With my partially clear vision, I saw a silver-skinned wolf jumping on people.

It took some time before I regained myself. The deep-pinching pain by the side of my head slowly subsided and the haziness that clouded my sight faded. The small-sized, silver wolf was very swift, charging the large brown wolf at every side. In every one hit the brown wolf gave, the silver wolf gave three or more.

The silver wolf had quick reflexes that complemented his speed, giving him a better advantage over the stronger and bigger wolf enabling him to dodge the brown wolf's hit. From the time I saw the fight, none of the brown wolf's hits got to the silver wolf because he dodged all of them, but all the silver wolf's hits touched the brown wolf though the brown wolf had a high durability.

The silver wolf jumped from above with his mouth opened wide to bite the brown wolf from the head. As fast as he was expecting to unleash an attack that would cause major damage to the brown wolf, the silver wolf got very close to the brown wolf. Then he got unlucky, the brown wolf got him for the first time.

A single strike from the brown wolf's left hand struck the silver wolf down and he fell, tumbling multiple times, sliding into a tent. The fall made him break into a tent causing everyone inside it to run out for safety.

I moved my eyes to the brown wolf and then to the silver wolf. It then got to me that Casper could be one of them, or maybe he had got out.

"Casper!"

The silver wolf on the floor whimpered and turned to me. I felt my wolf stirred inside me, my eyes were fixated on his flaming, crimson eyes- the eyes of an alpha.

The brown wolf snarled and growled deeply, he paced towards the silver wolf on the ground. The silver wolf slowly pulled himself from the ground, he was decapitated and couldn't stand properly.

The brown wolf snarled, standing on his two legs but poorly erect. He raised his hand and curled his fist with sharp, thick claws to give the silver wolf a final blow.

"No!" I screamed and I didn't know when I moved, but I felt my body clashed with the brown wolf's body. I stood at the spot where the brown wolf stood, but the brown wolf lay down on the ground covered with dust and debris.

He groaned in pain and slowly shifted back to human – the man who Casper fought with. He raised his head from the ground, frowning and breathing in anger. I rushed to where the silver wolf was and Casper in his human form naked, his knees on the ground and his hands wrapped around him.

"Hey! What is going on here?!" Tyrion shouted from a distance. I walked up to the child who was beaten and wounded, he lay unconscious. I touched the side of his neck and exhaled, lowering my head.

"He's alive, but in bad shape." I turned to the father, "Would you rather go on fighting and let your son die? Stop this foolishness and let's save this boy!" I turned to the people who were standing around looking at me in shock.

"Help me take him to Nurse Sally." They nodded and picked the boy up. "I am coming behind you."

"Mom," Casper called. He paced towards me, but seeing me grimace he stopped and took some steps away from me.

"We will talk at home," I turned away and followed the men carrying the wounded boy.
