Chapter 8 Secrets

~Xyana~

"You have to answer me," Clifton says, climbing on the bed and pinning my arms above my head while his frame towers above me. "Your wolf called me an Abomination, didn't she?"

"I'm going to scream." I let out the only words that came to my mind.

"And you think that would stop me? Was it your wolf, Xyana?" He presses on.

"Gaston says to follow my cue and not to overwhelm me," I tell him instead. "It looks like your presence..."

"I'm not playing this game with you." He growls, cutting me short. He lowers his body and whispers in my ear. "You are my fucking mate. I have the right to know."

My heart skips a beat as I feel his breath in my ear, making me mewl softly.

"And you, mine," I say, panting inaudibly.

"You believe so?"

I nod. "So as your mate, can you listen to me by letting me go?" I try another approach.

He chuckles, "nice try, Baby. In case you have no idea, it's going to take a while before my brothers finds us. So, I have all the time in the world."

Alarm bells ring in my head. "Clif, get off me right now!" I try another way, yet it turns out futile.

"Can't do that, Baby." His grey eyes capture my gaze instantly, taking my breath away as I struggle to get my brain to function properly.

He traces his lips straight from my neck to my shoulders. 'Goddamnit!'

"Answer me."

I do everything in my power to disguise my panting while overwhelming sparks travel through my skin. "Clifton!"

"Yes, Baby." He chuckles, biting into my neck, suctioning and blowing gentle air on the spot. Then he let out a soft growl as he positioned himself between my legs.

The sparks erupting on my skin are the only thing that stops me from going 'pleasure-mad' as he caresses my stomach and my sides gently.

My body burns up beneath him. While he puts his hands next to my sides, he licks my skin from between my breasts to my throat, making me shiver.

He chuckles as he nibbles at my jaw, and I moan lowly. "Who called me an Abomination, Baby? You either tell me or I'll be forced to stop, even though I don't want to. Tell me, right now."

I feel his command wash over me; my will feels bent like I'm meant to do nothing but please and obey Clifton.

'What's happening?'

Before I could gather my thoughts, the words were flying out of my mouth. "My wolf Juno. She called you an Abomination." I tell him.

His eyeballs flashed through a shade of grey to black. At this point, I'm not sure if his eyeball colors actually fluctuated or I'm too aroused not to be able to differentiate between real and hallucinations.

Clifton shuts his eyes briefly, and when he opens them, they're back to grey. But worry has replaced his arrogant expression. He kisses me and finally stands up.

I sat up immediately, silently mourning the loss of his hands, lips, and hand.

He looks at me with total reverence. Then he asks, "why?"

I can feel Juno stir as she readies herself to listen to my reply. She doesn't care about me. But she knows an honest answer to that question has the tendency to ruin me.

And, of course, it seems that's what she really wants... She squeals, smiling joyously. She's not exactly doing these things in literal terms. But I'm anthropomorphizing her emotions.

You know, like when you have a spirit being living inside you, and you get to feel things because they're either practically doing them or they're thinking of such actions.

I can hear the banging against the door as I believe Declan and Dion have finally caught up with us, but who knows when they will actually be able to bring down the door?

"You're going to speak to me, Xyana. I command you to! Why would your wolf refer to me as an Abomination?"

Again, his command washes over me and I'm pressured to offer him an answer. "Because..." I whisper, and he comes closer to hear me better. "She... She thinks I killed my mother and anyone attracted to me is an Abomination." 'Except Alpha Kedar, of course,' but I don't tell him that.

Juno had grown quiet after my mother's death. She deserted me completely. I never got to shift again because she refused to be present until the day I claimed Alpha Kedar as my mate and that was the first time I ever shifted after the death of my mother, four years ago.

Clifton's body goes rigid for a few seconds. I look away, pushing my gaze to the door that I have no doubt will come down soon from the intensity of the heavy pounding Declan and Dion are subjecting it to.

As if stung by an insect, Clifton jumps up, cussing. He walks around and stands in front of me, blocking off my view, "You and your wolf are the same. She's always with you. When it comes to you, your Wolf shouldn't think. She should know. So, it's either she knows you did it or not. Now, which is it, Xyana?"

My body starts trembling. Juno is still waiting, a mocking smirk on her face. She knows I won't say it. I won't share a secret I've kept buried for the better part of my life.

A secret that would destroy me if It gets to the wrong person. I'm acting like I really want to speak to Clifton while praying so hard that the door comes down as fast as possible.

Clifton takes hold of my wrist. He brings it to his lips and nipped it gently in between his teeth. The sensation I instantly feel is overpowering.

I feel like I'm floating in a hollow alley and consciousness is slipping away from me. I try to speak again, but my voice dies in my throat as a sharp, agonizing pain hits me out of the blue.

Darkness starts to claim me. I'm no longer floating; I'm being pulled into a thick, smoky, and very dark haze. I barely sensed Clifton pulling me into his arms.

"Fuck." His grip on me tightens. "Baby, look at me, stay with me. Goddess, what have I done? Stay with me, Babe." I hear his faint pleas, but I can't hold on; everything is turning black.

A very loud shatter in the room told me that my other mates had finally broken down the door.

But I'm not conscious for long. I finally give in to the darkness just when I hear Dion's voice; "You self-absorbed bastard!"
