Chapter 4 Captured by Alpha Lyran

Chapter 4

Adolfa's POV

After Alpha Lyran and the other Alphas had their fill of entertainment, it was finally time for them to release everyone. The Wereravens, Weresharks, Werefoxes, and Wereboars were all eventually granted their temporary freedom-a mere 24 hours of respite. When the decree was issued, Alpha Lyran bolted into the room, his towering presence commanding silence.

"Pay attention, you mere peasants!" he barked, his voice dripping with disdain. "Make sure you listen to every omega that gives you an instruction. Do not ignore them. Understood?"

The entire room growled in unison, "Yes, Alpha!"

Soon after, they released me as well. Alpha Berra personally escorted me to the quarters, ensuring the omegas led me to what used to be my parents' apartment. However, the place I once called home had long since been demolished during the last war between the Lycan King and the witches.

As we walked, my mind raced with memories. I barely recognized the land upon which my parents had built their lives. Now, a towering skyscraper stood in its place, beautifully adorned with bright lights. It looked like something straight out of a billionaire's estate-extravagant, pristine, and completely foreign to me.

Alpha Lyran had given strict instructions to the omegas: if I failed to obey any of their commands, I would face punishment under the werewolf laws and customs. That meant my every move was under scrutiny, and any misstep could cost me dearly.

Despite my exhaustion, I entered the building with confidence, bracing myself for whatever awaited me inside.

"Aunt Emily, I'm home!" I called out, my voice wavering slightly with fatigue.

I expected silence, or maybe an indifferent response. Instead, within seconds, my aunt came rushing out from another room. Her face lit up with a mixture of disbelief and relief as she pulled me into a crushing embrace.

"Oh, Adolfa!" she sobbed, her voice breaking as tears streamed down her face. "It's been so long since I've seen you."

Her arms encircled me like a cradle, holding me as though I might disappear at any moment. I stood there, frozen, uncertain of how to react. Her scent-familiar yet distant-wrapped around me, and for the first time in years, I felt a flicker of warmth.

"I'm so sorry, Adolfa," she whispered against my shoulder. "I should have been there for you. I know I have failed you as an aunt, but please, find it in your heart to forgive me."

For a moment, I hesitated. The years of pain, abandonment, and betrayal made it difficult to accept her words. But as I looked into her tear-filled eyes, I knew holding onto resentment would only deepen my wounds.

"It's okay, Emily," I murmured, reassuring her. "I don't hold anything against you. I've already forgiven you. Please, don't blame yourself anymore."

She pulled back slightly, her expression filled with relief. "Thank you, my dear," she said, giving me another warm embrace. Her scent clung to me, and before I knew it, I smelled just like her-soft and comforting.

"What would you like to eat?" she asked, wiping her tears away and shifting into a more cheerful demeanor.

"Eat?" I echoed, momentarily taken aback. "I'm not sure. I suppose anything will do."

Her smile widened. "Perfect. Everything is available, so let me get you something special. But after that, you owe me an explanation about where you've been all these years. I'm dying of curiosity."

She dashed off to the kitchen, and within thirty minutes, she returned, beaming with excitement. "Adolfa, guess what I'm making!"

Before she even said it, I could already smell the rich aroma wafting through the air-hot dogs, hamburgers, and a creamy milkshake. My stomach clenched painfully. Back in the Greko Pack, food was rationed. We were only given eggs and milk, and even that was strictly limited. We were lucky if we received a proper meal at night.

As she placed the tray before me, my hands trembled. I picked up the hot dog, took a bite, and my body shuddered in delight. My stomach growled loudly, making me realize just how starved I was.

Emily laughed softly. "Enjoy, sweetheart."

"Thank you, Emily," I murmured between bites, my voice thick with gratitude.

As I ate, Emily studied me closely, her expression turning more serious. "Now, Adolfa, tell me-how have you survived all these years? Where have you been?"

I swallowed hard. My throat felt dry, despite the milkshake I had just consumed.

"It's a long story..." I started, my voice barely above a whisper. "But I'll tell you everything."

As I prepared to recount my past, the weight of my memories crushed me. My mind spiraled back to the moment I was captured by Alpha Lyran-the moment my freedom was stolen. My voice wavered as I spoke, the words barely escaping my lips.

Tears welled up in my eyes before I could even begin. My body trembled as I remembered the torment, the pain, the sheer agony of being nothing more than a puppet to those monsters.

Emily reached out, her hand grasping mine. "Adolfa, I can't hear you," she said gently. "You don't have to say everything at once. Take your time."

Before I could utter another word, a sudden, deafening gunshot rang through the room.

*Bang! Bang!*

Emily gasped, her eyes wide with shock as blood blossomed across her chest. She staggered back, her body collapsing before me. My heart lurched as she hit the ground, her warm blood pooling around her.

"Emily!" I screamed, dropping to my knees. "Emily, stay with me!"

Her lips quivered as she struggled to breathe. Her fingers twitched, reaching for me, but her strength was slipping away. I cradled her in my arms, sobbing uncontrollably.

"Why?!" I wailed, my voice breaking with grief. "Why would you do this?!"

A cold, cruel voice answered me. "You should have kept your mouth shut."

I turned to see Omega Kyle standing there, gun in hand, his face void of any emotion.

"You dare question us?" he sneered. "You knew the rules, Adolfa. You knew that speaking about the Greko Pack's affairs would have consequences. Your stupidity has cost your cousin her life."

My entire body shook with rage. "You... you monster!" I seethed.

Kyle merely chuckled. "Oh, Adolfa. You're just a mere peasant. This is only the beginning of your suffering. Do you really think you stand a chance against Alpha Lyran? Against Alpha Berra? You're nothing more than a disposable toy-a plaything for the powerful."

His words sent a chilling wave through me, but my fury burned hotter than ever.

"You will pay for this," I vowed, my voice low and deadly. "Mark my words, Kyle-I will make sure every last one of you suffers. I will see to it that you burn for what you've done."

Kyle smirked, tilting his head. "Big words for a little girl. We'll see how far you get before we crush you completely."

With that, he turned on his heel and disappeared into the night, leaving me alone in my sorrow. I clutched Emily's lifeless body, my tears falling onto her pale face.

And in that moment, something inside me changed. The grief, the pain-it all transformed into something far more dangerous.

Hatred.

This was just the beginning. The Greko Pack had started a war.

And I would be the one to end it.
