After Hannah left, I had hoped that my mate and I would be able to talk and get to know each other. I know, wishful thinking after her reaction to it all. You seen, but I still held out hope.
She demanded that I let her go and I did without hesitation. I created some distance between us in hopes it will bring her comfort but I was unable to tell. She wore a cold glare and kept her hands to her side, palms facing me.
"My love, I assure you that I'm no threat." I spoke, hoping it would soothe her in some way.
"That's for me to decide, you beast!" She spat the words out at me.
'Why is she this way? Doesn't she know we are her mate?' Amos growled.
'I'm sure she knows. She just doesn't want to accept it.' I responded.
As she looked at me, I could tell she was confused. When you're talking to your lycan, your eyes could appear vacant to the on looker.
"I'm speaking with Amos." I reassured her.
"Amos?" She asked with more confusion covering her features.
I forgot that she wasn't a lycan and probably had no idea about how things worked. Hell, from her expression earlier when Hannah shifted, I would bet she had never seen a lycan before.
"Where am I? And who are you?" She asked.
"My name is Dominicko, and you are in the kingdom of Hester Wood." She relaxed her hands slightly, and I gestured for her to have a seat on the bed.
She looked hesitant for a while, but eventually, she moved cautiously to the bed and sat.
'We need to mark her!' Amos growled.
'This is definitely not the time to do that.' I stated.
'Why not? She's ours!'
'Although that's true, she hasn't accepted us yet! We can't just force that on her. Then she'll hate us forever!'
'You don't know that!' He snarled.
'And what about her actions is giving you the green light?' I asked.
Amos remained silent. He could be pretty impatient, but I guess that's why the moon goddess pared us. I, on the other had, had a lot of patience.
"Talking to... Amos, again?" Amos began to jump around at her acknowledgment of him.
"Yes. He's my lycan." Her beautiful green eyes continued to look at me confused.
"The creature you seen Hannah shift into is called a lycan. We are very similar to wolves, we just look different." I clarified.
She looked around the room. It was now a mess. The floor boards were stripped in some places and the bed frame was completely stripped. I mind linked a house maid letting them know that the room would need repairs and to prepare another room for me.
"Today has been an adventure, has it not?" I asked in hopes it would be an opener for her to engage with me.
"I need to leave." She stated.
Realistically I understood why she felt that was but if I'm being honest, I couldn't let her leave. I had just found her. She was my mate. There was no way in hell I was gonna let her leave.
"Why?" I asked.
"My coven is waiting for me."
"Given the state that I found you, the only thing that was waiting on you was death." She finally looked directly into my eyes.
"They would have found me if you had left me there." She hissed.
""They" would have found your corpse, sweetheart. If I hadn't found you when I did, you would surly be dead." I stared back into her eyes.
I could see the hate in hers and yet, all I could feel was the desire to claim her mouth as my own. I could feel the supernatural pull of the mate bond calling to my soul. I wasn't sure how it felt for her, but I could tell that she felt something.
The hate that once clouded her eyes was shifting into something else. I could smell her pheromones. She wanted me. Her eyes headed as she looked at my lips.
'She craves us. I can feel it.' Amos chimed in.
I could feel it and smell it. As much as she hated what I was, she wouldn't be able to resist the bond. I gently caressed her leg, causing her breath to hitch. I could hear her heart accelerate.
"Tell me, little witch, why are you fighting it?" She swallowed.
I could feel my own desire pooling in the pit of my stomach. She stayed still as my hand moved further up her thigh.
"Why not just accept me?" With one swift flick of her wrist, I was knocked down to the floor by a wooden drawer.
"I will never accept you!" She spat.
Hate took residency in her eyes again. It was a stab to the heart no less, but I couldn't bring myself to be angry with her. I quickly got to my feet and straightened my clothing.
"This room is a mess, I'll have a maid move you to your new room." I mind linked a maid closest to us and also Cyrus to bring the witches bracelets.
"I'm not staying here! I'm leaving!" She shouted as she stood to her feet.
"I'm sorry, my love, but I can't let you leave just yet." She raised her hands, but this time I was prepared.
I dodged the wood chips she flung my way. And grabbed hold of her wrist, pinning them behind her back.
"What are you doing? Let me go." She squirmed in my arms, but I didn't let go.
"I'm sorry, but I can't do that." It pained me to do this to her, but she wasn't leaving me much choice.
I lifted her off of the ground as she continued to squirm. I gently placed her down on the bed and pinned her hands above her head. I gently laid on top of her trying to keep her still.
"Get, off!" She whimpered, but I ignored her.
Her movements was causing discomfort to my midsection and I tried to ignore it. The last thing I needed was for her to-
"Please." She breathed.
"Please don't." Tears began to form in her eyes.
Shit! This is exactly what I didn't want her to think. I had to do something the reassure her. I took both her hands into one of mine and used the other to gently wipe away her tears.
"Little witch, I would never." I looked at her reassuringly, hoping that would calm her some.
"Hm" Cyrus cleared his throat, drawing both of our attention to him.
'Right! The bracelets!' I mind linked him.
He made his way to us and swiftly placed the bracelets onto her wrists. Once they were in place I gently climbed off of her. She sat up looking at them in disbelief.
"You, you blocked my magic?" The look in her eyes was like a dagger to the heart.
She looked so betrayed and I felt this immense amount of guilt.
'It's her fault! She wouldn't calm the fuck down!' Amos growled.
'If you were in her position, would you?' I snapped back.
"Amos," she whispered as she looked up at me.
'Ah, shit. Can't we take them off of her?' Amos asked . I could tell he was feeling guilty.
'If we do, she'll leave.'
