Roman's pov***
She thought it was Levi's office. I scoffed internally but found myself unable to take my eyes off her blouse.
"You are in the wrong office," I blurted out, the words slipping from my lips before I could stop them. It was stupid and out of character for me, but for some reason, I couldn't help it.
"Thank you", she replied, "could you point me to his office?" she asked, walking closer to me this time. My goodness, she was pretty, like a sculpted work of art.
"Victoria will guide you," I informed her, and quickly walked past her as I felt a certain surge of unease. I couldn't believe how thrown off I was at the presence of a mere woman. Victoria was going to go in for it.
How could she have let her get past into my office?
Just as she was about to leave, Levi walked in, both of them bumping into each other.
"Oh hello," I heard him say, as he spoke, his eyes seemed to be talking as well. I found it very annoying.
"Hi," she replied, her voice soft and almost timid, like a shy cat. "I was just about to find you, for the finalization of the legal works," she continued, this time her voice became fluid and confident.
"I'll come find you, sweetheart," I scoffed as Levi responded. And she walked out.
"What do you want, Levi?" I asked him with irritation in my tone, as he wouldn't stop staring at her even as she left.
"Nothing, I came to see if you had come in, or if I needed to drive over to your place to get you," he responded nonchalantly as he walked towards me.
"I'm here," I said flatly, trying to mask how I felt.
"Do you see her? She's mine," he said in a rather stern manner. "I'll check in later, I've got some legal documents to sign," he laughed and walked away.
as the door clicked shut behind him, my mind was consumed with thoughts of her. Something about the way her blouse clung to her body was rather appealing. I noticed the buttons; was she testing me? I asked myself
Her chest glowed like the sun and her face... her face...
"Victoria!!" I thundered.
I needed to distract myself from the thought of the new PR specialist. She came running in, her expression a mix of confusion and fear as usual.
I looked at her, she was nothing like the new PR specialist. She wore stupid glasses with her hair thrown up in an unkept manner, one would think she was a slave.
But Sera, Sera Quinn was the opposite. She carried herself with a distinct air of confidence and smartness. Something about Levi wanting her didn't sit well with me either.
"When did you begin allowing strangers into my office?" I asked her with disdain
"So sorry, sir, I didn't realize when she..."
"Is that what I pay you for?" I snapped at her. She was quiet, I could easily feel the tension in my office.
"Get out," I ordered, directing my attention to the stack of paperwork on my desk.
"Sir, excuse me, sir..." she went again, her voice trembling.
"What?" I asked impatiently.
"There has been a change in the 3 pm meeting, it has been rescheduled to 5 pm," she said, still in fear.
"What do you mean?" I remember scheduling the meeting with the unit head for 3, and this was my company; no one dared to change what I decided without my consent.
"Miss Sera Quinn needed time to prepare before joining the meeting," she told me. I raised my head in range, and without talking, I picked up my suit and headed for her office,
No one, no one dared me. As I walked the hallway, I could feel the weight of everyone's gaze on me, but it didn't matter; she had no right to, not without my permission.
I pushed the door open, and I could see her jolt from her seat, but she didn't stand, instead, she quickly regained her composure. Her blouse is still unbuttoned.
"How dare you?" I asked, and she looked at me as if she were clueless.
This was a first; any other person would stand up and tremble with apology, but it made me lost for a moment. Nothing could have prepared me for that moment. I looked at the woman in front of me.
"Who the hell are you?" I asked in my mind in bewilderment.
"You do not, do not disrupt my schedule, ever," I stressed with my finger pointing at her. I needed to make sure she understood the gravity of my words.
"The meeting, she simply said, nodding, I cleared it with Levi. If anything, you should take it up with him," she said rather calmly. It caught me off guard again. She referred to him as Levi by his first name. Something in the way she called his name reminded me of Zara, but I waved it off.
It was true that they spoke a little alike, but Sera had an accent that stood out that Zara did not.
"Next time, you take it up with me," I said and walked out. I was mad, not because she bypassed me and went to Levi, but because of the manner in which she spoke with such audacity as though it was nothing.
Zara's pov***
As predicted, I watched him walk from his office to mine. Pretending to be startled by his outburst, I jolted slightly and retained my posture. I watched his gaze shift again from my blouse to my face, his face boiling from unmistakable rage.
The same commanding tone he used when he chased me out of his company three years ago, the circle was repeating. Confident women dared obsessively control men, Miss Sylvia had always said, and that was my game plan.
I watched him shuffle between emotions for every answer I gave. And finally, he stormed out. If only he knew who I was, I thought.
just then, Tania walked into the office.
"Hey, I heard what happened, just in case next time, do not cross the boss, they don't call him ruthless for nothing." She offered, and I smiled at her, not saying anything. Getting close to her was going to make things worse, and I wasn't ready to risk it just yet.
"The unit head will be having lunch today at the restaurant nearby, would you care to join?" she asked. I wondered why she was so on my case. Did she feel threatened by my beauty, or perhaps by the fact that Levi was drawn to me?
3 years ago, she had told me about a tingling crush for Levi, but we were mere assistants, and we could only hope. It also made me wonder why Levi seemed to be taken by me now, when in the past, he wouldn't look at a woman twice before concluding women were trash.
I needed to tread carefully, yet an opportunity presented itself., I make Roman fall for me by making him jealous of my relationship with Levi.
"Oh no, Levi already asked me to join him for lunch," I told her while trying to focus on work.
"Levi asked you, but Levi only goes to lunch with Roman," she queried
"Well, I suppose I'll be joining them too," I told her, hoping it would dismiss her
"All alright then," she conceded, and she walked away. I could see how disappointed she was knowing I was going on a lunch date with Levi. I felt bad for her as my friend, but I didn't want to consider that if I needed my plan to work.
Tania's pov***
I couldn't believe the new girl was taking my spot. I should be having lunch with Roman, not her. Ever since Roman and I started dating, he had never offered to meet in public, which only deepened my frustration.
I knew it wasn't he asking her for lunch because, surprisingly, she had gone on his bad book even on the first day, but I couldn't help but feel jealous.
I wondered what Levi saw in her that made him attracted to her.
Yes, she was beautiful, but Levi didn't see any woman as beautiful
"Why now?" I asked myself. I knew I had to make a plan to be closer to Roman now. And I found a way to do so. I would use Sera Quinn, I told myself.
"Find out where Roman and Levi would be having lunch today," I told my secretary.
The game had just begun, and a smug smile crept across my lips as I plotted my next move.
