Chapter 2 Obey!

IRINA

"I don't belong to anyone!" I retorted, and the dark eyes of the man sparkled with fury. He raised his hand to strike me, but I didn't lower my head. Quite the opposite! The scar running across his left eye was terrifying.

"Get in there, bitch!"

"No! I won't be anyone's toy! I want to speak to the person in charge of this place!" Yes, my better judgment would tell me that I was being bold and absolutely reckless by speaking to that man like that. However, if I was 'merchandise', he wasn't going to finish me off, especially if he still wanted to sell me. Then, he might kill me. Between being a toy for strange men and a bullet to the head, I'd choose the second option!

He grabbed my arm, and I started struggling, trying to break free.

From the door I was supposed to enter, a man stepped out. He looked to be around fifty, a bit overweight, wearing a suit that wasn't tailored, though it appeared to be made of good material - at least it seemed so. My father loved suits, so I wasn't ignorant about the subject. - The unknown man's frown was deep.

"What's going on? Get my merchandise in there!" he complained, and the man with black eyes held me even tighter.

"No!" I continued, and soon I felt a slap across my face that made me turn away. The burn on my cheek seemed to spread across my entire face. I clenched my teeth, furious.

"I paid a lot for you, bitch! And I'll use you until I get tired of you!"

"No!" I kept going. They could beat me, but I wasn't going to give up! "You should be ashamed of having to pay for a woman to lie with you!"

I felt hands on my waist, but a sound from behind made the man with dark eyes turn, and I saw the big guy from before, the one with the blonde. He seemed more than just irritated.

"What's going on here?" he asked in a thunderous voice. He was dressed entirely in black, wearing a heavy coat, his dark hair short, and his very blue eyes. The kind of eyes that were striking! They looked like ice, not only because of their color but because of his expression. "I asked a question, Ivan!"

"Sorry, boss. But this one's feisty!"

"Is it Karev?" he asked, and the so-called Ivan, who was holding me, nodded. Then, the man with blue eyes, the 'boss', approached me and grabbed my face by the chin, squeezing it. He didn't say anything for a while, just looked at me as if he could read my soul. "So, what's the problem here?"

I forced myself to speak, and he loosened his grip, allowing me.

"Sir, there must be some mistake here." I started, although I clearly heard him say my last name. Maybe it was another 'Karev'. That had to be the mistake!

"A mistake, you say?" he asked carelessly, raising an eyebrow. Great, I had his attention.

"Yes. I don't know how, but I was at College, and then I woke up here! Look, I have nothing to do with this kind of..."

"Irina Karev?" he interrupted me in a neutral tone. The blonde woman looked at me with disdain. Hold on, did he just say my name? Damn!

"Yes, sir. That's my name, but..."

"Then there's no mistake." He signaled to Ivan, and the man lifted me again and turned me toward the room of that disgusting old man!

"No! Please!" I screamed, stomping my feet. Ivan threw me to the ground, where I didn't fall, but stumbled, and when the old man approached me, I kicked him in the groin!

"Ahh! You..." he fell to the floor, and Ivan let go of one of my arms, turning me around, ready to strike me. I closed my eyes this time. He was huge! That man was going to tear me apart, but better that than being used!

"Please! I don't want this!" I said hurriedly, pleading, and then nothing happened. I could still hear the man groaning on the floor. Great use I made of that sharp-pointed heel.

"Take her to the other room. And Mr. Krakov? I'll reimburse you for this, as well as for the damages." I heard the 'boss' speak, before I was taken to another room, thrown in there, and locked up. What were they going to do to me?

I stayed there for a while, thinking. There was no way out, there were no windows I could escape through! What kind of place has no windows?

Time passed - I didn't know how long - and I thought about my father. He must've been worried sick!

Finally, I heard the door unlock. Ivan and another man, with very blonde hair, almost white, entered.

"Let's go." Ivan spoke gruffly.

"Where to?"

"None of your business! Obey!" he raised his hand. "Or I'll give you another mark to match the one Mr. Krakov gave you!"

This time, I obeyed. But if he took me to another man, I'd make a fuss again. And he could beat me as much as he wanted!

I walked down corridors until we reached a door that led outside. It was freezing cold! Near the bathrooms, it was super warm. Who would have thought it was this cold outside the building?

I couldn't even wrap my arms around myself because Ivan was holding one of them. That short dress was a torment! At least it didn't take too long to end, as the door of a huge car opened and I was thrown inside.

The warmth there was inviting, and I sat, almost grateful, until I heard the door close and, looking forward, I saw that the same big man with blue eyes was there, but the blonde woman wasn't.

He stared at me intensely, and I felt like he could enter my mind, so I looked away.

"Please, I want an explanation." I asked. I wanted to scream and demand that he explain things to me, that he let me go, but he didn't seem like the type of person anyone would want to pick a fight with. If Ivan was big, this man was huge!

He didn't say anything, just stared at me for what felt like endless moments. I looked out the window, and all I could see was white, endless snow. Still in silence, I turned, and the man was still staring at me.

"Since you don't want that job, you'll have another one." His voice, though seductive, was also terrifying. Deep, strong, and with a touch of mockery.

"Which one?" I was almost afraid to know! I should have asked 'Why? Why do I have to work for you?'

He smiled in a sinister way, and I felt my body freeze inside. That man might be beautiful as an angel, but I knew he was the devil!
