At that moment, Bella gave up. "Alright, then, I understand. Thanks," she responded.
Julian, who had been standing nearby, also felt disappointed. "She canceled without any good reason?" she muttered.
Bella brushed it off, not wanting to dwell on it. "Let it go, Julian," she advised, rising from her seat to attend to a new customer who had just walked in.
"Hi, welcome to Bella's Beauty Salon," she greeted with a smile.
That's who Bella was. She always took things in stride. If things went her way, great, and if they didn't, she could handle it just as well.
Amelia had stepped out for a bit to get some snacks, and when she returned, Jenny Hilson still hadn't arrived.
Bella was busy with a customer, so Amelia walked up to Julian.
"Isn't Jenny Hilson coming anymore?" she whispered.
"She canceled," Julian replied immediately.
"What? But why?" Amelia asked, disappointed.
Julian explained that she had no idea and that Bella didn't want to talk about it.
"Look, Amelia, it's best if you don't ask Bella about it, alright?" Julian advised. "I know what it feels like when you expect something big, and at the end of the day, you see nothing at all. It's best if we just forget about this Jenny Hilson stuff. She's a big star; I'm sure she wouldn't want to stoop so low as to come here."
"Yeah, I get it. I know Bella must be so disappointed. We all hoped today might change our lives for good. But that's fine. I can live with that," Amelia uttered softly.
Bella observed her sisters' moodiness and smiled inwardly at their disappointed faces.
'They need to learn more about life,' she thought. 'You can't fully rely on people's words. They can disappoint you at any given time, and that's a fact.'
"Don't tell me you went to see that pesky landlord?" Julian sparked a conversation, breaking the silence as they strolled to the main road to catch a cab home.
"Yes, I did. I went to give him what he demanded," Bella responded.
"You mean you gave him an upfront payment for the shop while the previous payment have expired?" Amelia interrupted.
Bella nodded. "Yes, I did. He's such a pin in the ass, at least I've got him off my back for now." she answered.
Her sisters were curious about where the money came from, but they knew Bella too well. She didn't like to talk much; she preferred action over words.
Julian couldn't hold back her question. "Bella, how did you manage to pull it off?"
Bella stopped, glanced at Julian and Amelia, then playfully hung her arms around their necks. "Let's just say I've been saving up for a while now," Bella stated.
Julian and Amelia's eyes lit up in surprise. "Really?" they exclaimed in unison.
"Yes, I have. As a matter of fact, I will settle your college fee tomorrow," Bella said, gesturing to Amelia.
"Wow... thank you so much, Bella. I don't know what I would have done without you," Amelia remarked.
"Yes, Bella, you are truly the best sister in the world. Thank you for all you do for us," Julian interjected. "But I must say, Mr. Benson is really going overboard with his attitude toward you."
"Oh, come on... not that again. I'm pretty sure he'll get tired of it one day. Just don't mind him," Bella uttered, closing the topic.
She didn't enjoy dwelling on one issue.
"Let's go home, girls. I can feel something good is coming," Bella insinuated, letting out a soft sigh.
A sleek private jet descended onto Eve Heights Airport, and as the door opened, Ethan emerged. He was the very definition of charm and sophistication, wearing a perfectly tailored suit and with his dark hair tousled in just the right way.
Ethan took in the stunning landscape, a sense of wonder in his eyes and a smile on his lips. He was accompanied by his loyal personal assistant, John, who followed closely behind.
As they made their way towards the black Volkswagen Teramont awaiting them, Ethan couldn't help but comment on the beauty of Eve Heights. "I have a feeling this vacation is going to be extraordinary," he murmured.
They drove straight to the hotel Ethan had booked for his stay, and upon arrival, the manager was already on standby to welcome him. Ethan stepped out of the car majestically, and the manager greeted him with a warm smile.
Ethan was led to his room by a friendly receptionist who promised to provide him with the best service. "Welcome to The Regal Monarch, sir," she remarked, taking hold of his luggage and escorting him to his room.
As they entered, the receptionist gently placed Ethan's luggage where it should be and said, "If you need anything, sir, we are at your service."
"Thanks," Ethan replied with a sly smile.
Ethan Harrison, a well-known and respected billionaire both nationally and internationally, was the CEO of the popular fashion brand Luxe Allure. Their style was astonishing and unbeatable; no brand was a match for them.
Ethan's presence was always highly acknowledged, and he hoped to enjoy his stay at Eve Heights. It was actually his first time there.
This was the start of a luxurious and memorable vacation for Ethan, and he knew he was in for a wonderful time in the beautiful city of Eve Heights.
Ethan stood before the mirror, running his fingers through his hair. "John, I desperately need a haircut. I want to change my hairstyle. Find me the best stylist in the city," he declared, his brows furrowed.
John nodded and made contacts to get the best hairstylist in town. After a flurry of calls, he finally connected with Bella Beauty Salon.
