"Ok then, let's go!" Chen agreed, holding their hands with a smile on his face. Mia and Liam were just six years old, they were sweet kids and also disturbed a lot.
Chen took them outside, leading them to a sit-out in the estate, "Alright, you guys wait here, let me get something, I will be right back," Chen instructed, with a reassuring smile. "Yes, Chen!!" Mia and Liam agreed with a nod.
Chen walked away in a hurry, and the kids sat still waiting for him to return, but something happened. A stranger dressed in a black T-shirt, black pants, and black shoes, with a snug cap, walked up to them.
"Hello kids," he said squatting in front of them. "Who are you?" Mia questioned, as they stared at the stranger. The stranger scoffed and smiled, "I'm a friend of your mom," he claimed, with a playful glint.
"But we haven't seen you before," Liam responded, "Yes, that's right," Mia interjected. The stranger nodded, "I know, but your mom is hurt right now, she's crying," he said, holding their hand lightly.
"Mom is crying?" Mia and Liam questioned, standing up. The stranger nodded, "Would you like me to take you to her?" He inquired and without hesitation, Mia and Liam agreed to follow the stranger.
The stranger swiftly took them, holding their hands and attempting to take them away from the estate. As he walked past a lady with her baby in a pusher, she was surprised to see Mia and Liam with a stranger but she shook it off and kept going. When Chen returned to get Mia and Liam, he realized that they weren't there anymore.
Chen in shock began to search for them all over the estate, but couldn't find them and then he started asking questions. Luckily for him, he encountered the lady who first saw Mia and Liam with the stranger, "Hello, excuse me, please did you happen to see Joey's kids anywhere?" Chen inquired, breathing heavily.
The lady, blinked, recalling seeing Mia and Liam a few minutes ago with a stranger. "Yes, they were with a guy dressed in black and they walked past me a few minutes ago." She exclaimed, her voice tinged with curiosity.
Chen with a hint of confusion and fear exclaimed, "Which way did they go?" The lady pointed in her right direction, "This way!" She exclaimed as Chen ran after them.
He searched everywhere but couldn't find them. As Joey walked out of the company, she stood for a minute pondering, "Why did he suddenly give me another shot after making it clear to me last time that he doesn't need a married woman or someone with kids?" That's weird," she thought.
I stood beside the company watching her every movement, making sure she wasn't in danger.
Suddenly, Joey received a call from Chen, "Joey! Your kids...," Chen exclaimed. Joey's heart began to race, "What happened, did something happen to Mia and Liam?" She questioned, her voice trembling.
"They disappeared," Chen replied with a hint of frustration. "What? I'm on my way! Call the police!" She exclaimed, heading straight to the estate, sobbing silently, her heart pounding like a beating drum.
With the tension she displayed, I sensed that something was wrong, so I quickly her as I boarded a cab immediately, "What could be the problem?" I thought, my heart racing with anticipation.
Chen called the police and also reached out to Nora who contacted a small group of hers called ECA(Estate Security Alert) to contact everyone living in the estate.
They all reached out to a lot of people living in the community to inquire if anyone else had seen Mia and Liam and fortunately, some people saw them and reported back immediately. "They passed right now with a stranger," a woman reported. "Everyone should surround him! Don't let him escape with those kids!" Nora exclaimed, quickly riding back to the estate community.
Everyone worked together, surrounding the stranger to make sure he had no way to escape. When the kidnapper noticed that he was being surrounded, he pushed Mia and Liam forward forcefully, using them as a distraction to escape.
"Stop right!!" They shouted, but he ran away and they couldn't catch up with him as he disappeared. Immediately, Joey arrived at the estate. She couldn't bear the thought of losing her kids after losing her husband. Joey ran as fast as she could into the estate community, Mia and Liam saw her and shouted "Mommy!" As they ran towards her.
"Mia! Liam!" She called out, with tears rolling down her cheeks, running towards them. She hugged them tightly, sobbing, "Why did you guys have to follow a stranger?" Joey questioned with a shaky voice, her eyes fixed on them.
"He told us you were crying," Liam replied, his face somber. "Crying? You know mommy never cries," Joey replied, kneeling on the floor and tightly holding their hands.
"But I can see tears in your eyes," Mia said, tears welled in her eyes. "Of course not," Joey interjected, wiping her tears. I ran all the way here, that's why I'm all sweaty. "Mom," Mia and Liam called out, elongating the word, and began to cry. Joey held them in a tight embrace, sobbing silently.
Everyone in the scene felt pity for Joey because she now had to worry about her
children's safety and also work hard at the same time.
I stood afar watching how helpless Joey was in her situation, and before the police arrived, the kidnapper was long gone. The police inquired about the incident and Chen gave them the details with the help of others present when the incident took place.
"Here is a picture of him," a lady who took a picture of the kidnapper when he tried to escape, showed it to the policemen. I stood still where I was, away from everyone so that I wouldn't be noticed, but I was eager to see the face of the kidnapper.
I hurried back to my apartment swiftly took off my black attire and dressed normally. I quickly went back outside and monitored the lady who had the kidnapper's photo on her phone. As the lady left the scene, I approached her, "Hi, excuse me, please can I see the face of the kidnapper?" I requested politely.
"Sure!" She exclaimed, taking out her phone, upon seeing the picture, my eyes widened in disbelief. "It's the same assassin who murdered my sister and Joey's husband," I thought as I walked back to my apartment.
I stood in front of my crime board, starting at photos of my suspects, and victims including George, my sister, Miller Donald, few others, and the assassin wasn't left out. "I'm coming for you," I muttered, pointing at his photo, rage with anger and determination as I clenched my fist.
