MONDAY MORNING
REYNA'S POV
I woke up smiling happily, stood up, went to the bathroom, took a long fresh bath, came out, and applied Vaseline on my skin.
I wore my white and pink floral sleeveless dress, jean jacket, then my black old sneakers. I fixed my hair into a neat ponytail and wore my brown old backpack.
I ran out of my room straight to the kitchen. Mom was cooking.
I hugged her from behind. "Morning, Mom."
She turned with a smile as I disengaged. "Morning, sweetie. Ready for your first day?"
I nodded.
"Now, remember, be careful. Rich, spoiled kids can still ruin people's lives. I don't want anything to happen to you, just-"
"Focus on my studies and future. I know, Mom," I completed her warning. "You've told me a hundred times."
She grinned. "I love you, sweetie."
"I love you too," I replied. "Mom, it's 7:30. School starts at 8. I don't want to be late."
"Don't forget your breakfast," she said, giving me a peanut butter sandwich wrapped in brown paper.
"Thanks, Mom." I kissed her on the head. "Bye."
"Bye, sweetie!"
I left the house, hailed a taxi to my destination.
I arrived at the school and walked into the large, gigantic compound, full of wealthy-looking students in moderate uniforms.
"Oh my gosh, isn't that one of the commoner girls who won the scholarship?" I heard a girl among the students.
"Her outfit looks so cheap," another said.
I rolled my eyes and decided to ignore them as I entered the school hallway. Wow! So beautiful and spacious, so many new glowing faces.
They look so rich. Do I even belong here? I don't care. I'll make myself belong.
I headed straight to the principal's office because I was directed there. The principal gave me my locker number, my new uniform, the books I needed, and the school map.
I can't wait to try on my new uniform.
I left the office and was walking down the hallway, staring at the map, without even asking for directions because I'm shy, and I could see they were giving me endless stares and whispers.
"Oh my God, she looks poor."
"And hot."
"I don't like the scholarship idea. They're bringing ugly commoners to our school."
"She's so practical."
I gulped, trying not to get emotional as I ignored them.
Thanks to the school map, I didn't need to talk to them or even ask for directions.
I headed straight to the bathroom and entered a stall, changed into my new uniform, which was a white long-sleeve shirt with a black and grey wool tartan tie, a blue-black plaid pleated waist skirt, and a dark blue blazer. I also wore my retro red-black striped white knee socks.
I came out of the stall and checked myself in the mirror. Oh my, I look like a rich student-so decent and cute.
I didn't know I could look this good. I went back to the stall, placed my books in my brown backpack, and left the bathroom.
I was walking down the hallway and noticed everyone had stopped staring at me. Good thing they didn't recognize me because of the school uniform.
"Oh." I accidentally bumped into someone.
"Out of my way! Are you mad?!" the familiar girl shouted.
Oh no! I recognized her immediately-the girl whose car hit me while I was riding my bicycle and who embarrassed me in front of everyone.
I hope she didn't recognize me.
"I'm sorry. So sorry," I pleaded.
"Wait, have I seen you before?" she asked.
I shook my head. "No, not really. I'm sorry." I walked away immediately.
NATASHA'S POV
I gave her a suspicious look as she walked away from me.
I know I've seen her before, but where? And I think she's new here because she looks nerdy and I've never bullied her before.
REYNA'S POV
I entered my class, led by the map, which was 11th grade. Yeah, I'm graduating next year.
I folded the map, and my eyes went wide seeing the large classroom-the stacked chairs with bigger tablets, the large windows, the flooring, the air conditioner, the huge whiteboard, and the charts of chemistry, physics, biology, and so on. So amazing!
So many students were forming groups, discussing and laughing together. I can't easily make friends like that.
It's so weird for me.
I spotted an empty seat in the front row, smiled as I went and sat down, and took a deep breath.
"Finally, a student of Grand Lake Academy," I whispered to myself.
"Ow!" I felt my head pushed.
"Hey dirt bag! You're in my seat!!" The bully girl again, standing in front of me with her two backup friends-one in a cheerleading uniform and one in a school uniform without a blazer.
I stood up immediately and wore my backpack. "I'm sorry. So sorry..."
"Shut the fuck up and leave my sight," she yelled, attracting people's attention.
I bent my head, feeling ashamed as I stepped away from her, searching for another empty seat that had no owner.
"Hey, you can sit here." A Korean girl with bangs waved at me from the third row, pointing to a seat beside hers.
At least it's not too far from the front row.
I smiled as I hung my backpack on my chair and sat down.
"Thank you," I mouthed.
"You're welcome. I'm Han-Shay-Lee from South Korea, but you can call me Shay," she explained.
I nodded. "Cool name. I'm Reyna."
"Reyna? Reynalia or Reynanda?" she asked.
I shook my head. "Just Reyna."
"Sweet name," she complimented. "By the way, don't try to move with the Thrice Spice," she whispered.
"Who?" I asked, feeling confused.
"Natasha Benjamin-the queen and Miss G.L.A. of the group, class, and school because she's the most beautiful, and I think you're going to take her place. But you do not want to go near her hot best friend; she'll squeeze your head. She's also the captain of the Scorpion cheer team and the greatest bully of all," Shay said, referring to the bully girl.
Well, she is beautiful, especially with her glam makeup, straight long hair, cute pink Chanel backpack, and her nails.
She was seated in her chair while the two friends sat on the table, discussing together.
"And Kylie Quince-the assistant queen, Natasha's advisor, and second most annoying bully, especially when you try to get close to her boyfriend," she said, referring to the girl without the blazer whose hair was styled in a straight wet look with a golden hair clip.
"And last but not least, Hailey James-the quirky and tallest among them. She always wants to be Natasha's assistant, but Natasha always uses her as a body shield. So stupid, but she's also a bully," Shay explained, referring to the cheerleader.
"Wow, Kylie and Hailey. Like the Mean Girls?" I asked.
"Shhh, quiet so they won't hear you say such words," Shay whispered. "Anyway, are your parents rich?"
"Nah, I'm here because of the scholarship," I replied.
"Oh my," Shay gasped. "You can't let the Thrice Spice know about your scholarship. They're going to bully you for being poor and a nerd."
Seriously? I can't even brag about winning a full-time scholarship? Instead, I get bullied? Oh God!
I frowned as I began to hear girls whispering and cheering.
"Oh my gosh! It's Tyler Terrence."
"He's super cute as always."
"Marry me!"
"I love his curly hair."
My eyes widened, seeing the cute, nice guy that ran into me accidentally entering the class.
Oh God! He's super handsome. No wonder girls are cheering for him. But why is he here? He goes here? In my class? Oh geez!
"OMG." Shay squealed.
"Who's that?" I asked.
"Tyler Terrence-the demigod of Grand Lake. The richest guy in this school, richer than Natasha. His dad owns this school and some other expensive schools in Scottville City, 10 estates in the USA. His mother owns 5 cosmetic companies in the USA," Shay explained. "He's also Natasha's best friend-ignorant but not a bully. By the way, don't try to be friends with him or Natasha will kill you."
I nodded, believing what she said.
By the way, Tyler is too hot and awesome to be my boyfriend. Why would I even think that way?
His eyes caught me staring at him, and I quickly bent my head.
TYLER'S POV
I smirked, feeling happy inside, staring at that beauty I always wanted to see.
I wanted to talk to her as I started moving.
"Tyler!" Natasha stood and blocked my way. "Come on, sit with us. We need to talk about our upcoming annual pep rally."
"We'll talk about it as soon as we get home, not now," I replied.
"Why?" she asked.
I shrugged. "Just a minute." I walked away from her, smiling at the baby face.
NATASHA'S POV
I clenched my fist angrily, watching Tyler moving closer to that stupid girl. Trying to flirt with her. He just met her!
"Ew! What does Tyler want from that useless new girl?" Kylie asked.
"Is he blind? What did he see in her?" Hailey added.
"We need to teach that girl a very good lesson," Kylie said.
"I know. We'll fill her old ugly backpack with white yogurt and call her Sperm Girl," Hailey suggested.
"Good idea, Hailey." Kylie and Hailey high-fived each other. "What do you think, Natasha?"
"No," I snapped.
"What? Why? She's drawing your secret crush close to her..."
"He's not my secret crush!" I snapped angrily at those girls as I turned back to Tyler talking to that ugly punk. "He's my future husband."
"Your future husband is talking to that useless girl. What are you going to do?"
I gave her a suspicious look. "I know I've seen her before, but where?" I asked myself.
I have to find out so I can execute my perfect plan.
REYNA'S POV
"Hey, Can I have your number?" Tyler asked.
Oh God, why is he asking for my number? Why is he even talking to me? Natasha would kill me. She's even glaring at me and her friends, not only her but everyone.
Shay is smiling at us.
"I... I don't have a phone." I lied so he leave me alone.
"What's your name?" He asked as he sat on my table.
"Rey... Reyna." I answered.
"Cute name, but I'd rather call you Strawberry." He scoffed.
I frowned at him, who's giving me the sweetest smile "Why?"
"Because you look sweet and you're acting like one." He said and I blushed inwardly.
"So you wanna hang out after school? I'm Tyler by the way." He said.
I smiled lightly "Cool, but I can't, I have work to do."
"Okay, then you'll follow me to the basketball court for practice." He said.
"But..."
"No but, you will, alright?" He finalized.
"Good morning students." A brunette man in suit walked in and all the students rushed to their seats, including Tyler.
Wait, don't tell me he's sitting at the back of my seat. Oh no! So I'm right in front of him.
"Good morning, Mr John." Everyone replied.
TYLER'S POV
She's so cute and shy, I like that but she's too shy, which kinda annoys me, but I'll bring out the scream in her.
This ain't my seat, my seat is right next to Natasha's but since the cutie is here, I chased a guy out of hand seat and sat down so Strawberry will be right in front of me.
NATASHA'S POV
Gosh!! I wanna kill that b×tch trying to get close to my sweetheart. I swear as soon as I get hold of her, I won't pity her I promise.
REYNA'S POV
Mr John held his marker and was about to write on the bed "English topic, today is..."
"Morning class." The low cut haired principal walked into the classroom.
"Good morning principal Ben." Everyone greeted back.
"Today, I want to introduce you to the new students who won the scholarship that Mr Terrence proposed and in this class." He explained "They're only five students in this class, the 15 others are in different classes. Adrian Peteson."
A guy came out in front of the class. Oh God, does that mean?
"Shawn Ryan."
Another guy came out.
"Jennifer Anderson."
A tall muscular girl came out.
"Daniel Frank."
A short guy came out. Oh no! I'm next!!!
"And last but the best, Reyna Davis." The principal called.
I bent my head as I quickly untied my ponytail so my hair would cover my face from everyone. I stood up with a gulp as I stood in front of the class, all bad eyes on me.
"Here are 11th grade students who won the scholarship, but a very special person turns out to be the best and top 1 student who passed the exam, give it up for Reyna Davis!" The principal begin to clap, and the rest clapped with hesitation.
Natasha didn't even bother. Can we go back to our seat now? I hate being surrounded by crowd.
"Miss Davis, keep it up, always be the best and you'll love this school." The principal said "Thank you Mr John. Mr Terrence, follow me." He said as he left with Tyler.
Everyone went back to their various seat, I sighed as I was walking to my seat.
"Whoa!" I tripped against someone's foot and collapsed on the floor, causing the class to roar with laughter.
"Oh my God, I'm so sorry." Natasha fake gasped.
I know she placed her foot on the way deliberately. Her friends giggled at me and she smirked inwardly at me.
"Hey, are you okay?" Shay gave me her hand, I accepted as I stood up, setting my uniform.
"Miss Benjamin!!" Mr John scolded.
"What? I said sorry." Natasha scoffed as she smiled at me.
I sighed as I went back to my seat and our class teacher began teaching.
NATASHA'S POV
This is just a little pinch of lesson, I'll make sure she regret choosing this school, she's gonna suffer for trying to get close to my Tyler.
Good thing Tyler is not in class, he's gonna hate me for bullying that girl or anyone. He have never seen me bullying.
*AFTER CLASS*
REYNA'S POV
After class lesson, the teacher left the class, waiting for our next teacher which is our chemistry teacher.
"Hey!" I heard a girl's voice from my back.
I bent my head trying to ignore her.
She stood up and held my chin tightly and moved my face to her "Hey, I'm talking to you!"
She looks classy and beautiful, she's definitely one of the rich spoilt brats of the school.
"Just because you won some dumb scholarship, doesn't mean you're one of us. You're a cheap poor ugly brat who doesn't belong here and you should know that alright? So know your f×cking limits, jerk." She pushed my head.
"Yeah! Don't mess with us, or we'll mess with your future." Hailey added.
"Stupid girl, she thinks she's one of us." Another girl added.
My eyes was soaked with tears, trying my best to control them from the shame and embarrassment.
'Don't let their words bother you.' My conscience consoled me.
"That's not cool, guys!" Shay shouted.
"Shut up Shay-Lee!" Kylie shouted.
I sniffed and sighed. I won't let their taunts affect my studies.
I wonder where Tyler is. Why do I even care? I really thought my first day is gonna be the best day of my life but no, it turns out to be the worse.
