Chapter 4 Alice's pov

The party is bubbly, everything a girl needs right now. I swayed my hip seductively to the music, ignoring the ogling, and whistling.

Right now it seems like I have no worries in the world. Leah is the best party partner. Jane on the other hand got scooped away by her boyfriend Zillion the moment we got here. We've spent close to three hours here already.

The routine is dancing seductively, drinking, and refusing to dance with the opposite sex. As Leah said "I don't need no man caressing me tonight" and that's definitely what I'm going with.

Leah went off to use the bathroom, and I was left on the dance floor. I continue rocking my hips to the music until I felt a hand on my waist. It was almost at my hip when I smacked it away" no touching" I said as I continue whining to the music.

"Oh feisty, I like" he danced with me. This time he didn't touch me. After a while I got tired of dancing, and decided to seat on the barstool at the end of the dance floor.

I requested for a drink, and gulped it down. "I could also use a drink." I heard the manly voice say to the bartender. "Give the lady another glass."

I was about turning to face him, but got distracted by Leah. "I think I just met the cutest guy ever!" She used her hand to fan her cheeks, and breathed out loudly.

My eyes search our surroundings knowing fully well she didn't come in with anyone. She noticed my eyes wander for the mystery man. Then added "I went out to the terrace for air, he was there sipping his drink, and we clicked," she gushed. "he's so handsome."

"So where is he now?" I asked still a bit confused about her love confession. "Oh right," she looked around "be right back." She hurried through the crowd, and I couldn't help but smile widely. I turned around about to request for another drink, but saw one beside me.

"I'm guessing this is mine?" I took a sip maintaining eye contact with the guy I was dancing with earlier on. "I'm Clark." He extended his hand towards me. I took it with a smile" I'm Alice" "You look stunning." His eyes ran through my body slowly, stopping at my cleavage, and legs as he licked his lips.

After contemplating on what to wear for hours I decided to settle with a black leather mini skirt, and a crop top that exposed the upper part of my breast and my pierced belly button. I let my dark wavy hair flow down my shoulder, and did a light make up.

I took a sip of my drink again this time feeling light headed. I felt Clark's hand by my side "would you like me to take you somewhere quiet?" I looked at him for a second " or I could take you home."

A wolffish grin tilt his mouth. "No I'm fine." I tugged his hand away from my body. I stood up to go back to the dance floor. He followed me back to the dance floor, before I knew it his hands was all over my body, as he brought his lips towards mine.

I tried pushing him off me, but it's to no avail "stop acting like a child, I know your type. You crave the attention." He said as he sniffed my hair. I felt irritated and angry. I can't pinpoint if it's the anger, or it's because I've had too much to drink, but I felt all the drink mixing up in my stomach. I tried him pushing away to use the bathroom, but he wasn't yielding.

So I emptied everything I ate before coming on his shirt. Finally, he removed his hand from my waist. He looked so disgusted. "What the hell bitch" he raised his hand to hit me, and I shriek closing my eyes.

I heard people scream so I opened my eyes to see Clark on the floor, and an angry Brian glaring at him, then at me. As I've always said Brian is intimidating. Just one look made Clark scurry away like a rabbit running from a prey.

Brian muttered something to himself, raking his hand through his hair, as he advanced towards me. I knew then that party time is over, and this party pooper would make me go home. "Nooooooo, the fun just began" I said as I tried dancing.

I almost fell but Jane caught me on time. "Alice you've had too much to drink."Worry creases her brows as she looked towards Brian, and then at me. "Noooooo... i didn't drink much.."I grinned "just enough"

The other students resumed dancing acting like no commotion recently happened, like it's a normal occurrence. "you are so grumpy, I know it's hard for people to put up with you?" I murmured as he gabbed me gently by my elbow.

"Can't we stay, and dance a little, don't be a party pooper." I pout, and continued dancing as I was been hauled out of the building.

***********

I opened my eyes, to a blinding light and splitting headache. It took me few seconds before I realized that this isn't my room. The grey walls, with black furnitures, and Picasso staring right back at me. Without thinking twice I knew I was in Brian's room. I swallow the aspirin, and water on the drawer. Then the event that took place yesterday started coming back to me. Maybe I offended the universe in my past life, cause embarrassing things just keeps happening to me. I made my way out of the room.

I groaned as I dragged my leg sluggishly on the floor till I bumped into Brian. His back was towards me. As he typed on his laptop . I contemplated creeping back into the room, and pretending I was asleep or, i can pretend not to remember everything that happened yesterday. So I decided to go with the latter.

"Good morning step brother." I said cheerfully ignoring my banging head, and pounding heart. Just like always he kept quiet. Most times I wonder what's going on in his head.

I sat on the three seater opposite where he is seated, and I immediately regret it. This is the first time I'm seeing him on glasses, and on play clothes. His face is relaxed, and some of his hair dances against his forehead.

"Your place is nice." This has always been my defense mechanism. Speaking. When I'm tensed I speak, curious I speak, afraid I speak, angry I speak.

He didn't even spare me a glance. "I can't remember how I got here.." I lie through my teeth "but thanks for the accommodation." I used my eyes to scan his living room, before my gaze fall back on him.

"Did you sleep on the couch?" I pouted, Putting a strand of my hair at the back of my ear. "I didn't count you as on that could inconvenience himself for others most especially me."

he glared at me, and I lift up my shoulder "just saying."

"Be quiet, or I wouldn't think twice about kicking you out." Brian said sternly, and resumed typing this time a little more aggressively. I swear he can train a dragon.

With the way he breath out invisible fire, and dishes out orders. "You are such a killjoy." I stood up from the sofa, and started looking around. There is a huge 3D flat screen, a round black glass table with four chairs. The parlor is all white and black. From the black drawers in the kitchen to the black furnitures to the glass chandeliers hanging in ascending order from the parlor to the end of the hallway that leads to a library. Then there is the room I came out of, and another room at the opposite end.

I strolled back to the living room "so what do you do for fun? Other than glaring, ignoring and commanding people." I stood at his front still observing him. When he didn't reply I continued "So you say one word and then go quiet?" I nod my head severally," I think I'm getting to know you better. You know communication is key right? So if you want those girls hovering around you to stick around longer, you'll need to start using your voice more often." I said as I took my seat on the chair not too far from him.

A slight smirk crosses his lips, and my mouth falls open. This is the closest to a smile that I've ever seen on him. "Regardless, here you are still hovering." His cool voice takes me by surprise.

Fire bubbles in my veins and I couldn't hide it in my tone "I...In your dreams." He shrugs but says nothing.
