"Blessing! Oh, Blessing, wake up!" my mom's voice pierced through my sleep as she tapped me urgently.
I groaned, rolling over and burying my face in the pillow. "Mummy, please now. Can I just sleep for a few more minutes? We can travel tomorrow, abeg."
"My friend, will you get up from that bed!" she yelled, pulling off my blanket.
I sat up reluctantly, rubbing my eyes. "Ahh, I hate early morning travels. Mom, I really hope this is the last one o. I'm tired of moving around like a military bag of rice."
She laughed, already heading to the door. "Yes, dear. This time, we're moving into our own private house. No more renting."
"Better o, because I need stability. I want to make new friends-real ones this time," I mumbled as I dragged myself out of bed. "I hardly have any friends, and I hope this new place has friendly people. I swear, if I meet any bullies, I'm ready for them. Let someone just try me," I said with a smirk.
So... hi. I'm Blessing David. Twenty-one years old. Nigerian. Lagos born and raised-well, was, until now. My dad is an army general, so moving from one base to another has always been part of my life. I'm an only child, and before you ask-yes, I'm a lesbian. My dad knows, my mom knows, even my extended family knows. I've never really had to hide it, and for that, I'm grateful.
There's not much to say about me sha. I love music, dance, and fashion, but most of all, I just want to find a girlfriend who actually loves me for me. Not for money, or status, or anything else. All the girls I've dated so far just wanted things from me-gifts, clout, money. It gets tiring, you know?
But maybe, just maybe, this new place will be different.
New house.
New street.
New people.
New vibes.
And hopefully... a new love.
Fingers crossed
The journey was a bit stressful but good thing I slept through out I hate traveling through cars but what I can I do,
