Chapter 2 Truth Exposed

Juliet

She stared at the report, speechlessly. Her eyes were wide in saucers staring at the paper like it was a call from Lucifer . "I am a virgin, then how can I be pregnant, why are you accusing me with a false report?

The people started gossiping. They stared at her like she was the resident of a mental asylum and came there by mistake.

"Stop. Don't act as if you are as green as grass. There are a good number of mysterious aspects in you that I did not take notice of earlier. I trusted you. But what did I get in return? Betrayal, heartbreak and disloyalty. You are a bitch in the disguise of devout woman. Do not touch me." He wiggled his hand out of her grasp.

"Juliet, all of us know the high character you hold. Isn't it, mama?" There was a cynical grin on Mollie while talking to Sherlyn.

"Stop it, Mollie. Who is what we will soon find out. The allegations that are put upon me are 100% baseless. And I know how to bring the culprit out." She stared daggers at her in a warning about her troubled future.

Collins stiffened his lips. "But the report is from Greenfield hospital. Your own holding. How could it be wrong?"

His promiscuous assertion made the hairs rise on her skin. "Greenfield hospital?"

He only nodded, putting her positive spirits on fire. Juliet was in a sort of trance unable to grasp the dirty situation that stood before her in a heckle. "You need money to pay for your hostel and exam fees. Do not think that there is anything wrong with what you did. There are many men out there who need women to quench their thirst. So what is wrong if you slept with one or two of those men." Mollie snickered.

Juliet ground her teeth in dismissal. Before she could give a sticking reply, Collins stepped onto the stage announcing to everyone. "This woman doesn't have a character. She is a whore and still argues she is as pure as a river after seeing the pregnancy report. There is a world of difference between the two Greenfield sisters. Better late than never. I am lucky that I found the right person. Thanks for obliging my proposal Mollie. I cancel my engagement with Juliet."

Juliet could hardly process what Collins spoke before he dropped on his knee with a ring proposing to Mollie. The tears that welled her eyes earlier were in free flowing streams now. "Throw this girl out of the banquet hall. She has no right to stay among the dignified." Sherilyn ordered the security.

At that moment Juliet wished for nothing, but for the earth to swallow her. Her head started to reel and she could feel the beat of her heart reach to her ears. She had never faced such a humiliation. Now she understands why a birthday party was planned when she never received one in all these growing years. It was only to ridicule her.

The security came inside to force Juliet out. "Stop there." Juliet ordered strongly. "I can go out on my own." That moment she promised herself, whoever played this dirty game with her will soon taste the bitter fruit of their actions.

"Give the way. The bitch is finally leaving." Somebody shouted from behind. Her legs were about to give up but she wouldn't accept defeat. Juliet continued to walk on the lonely street to reach the bus stop forcing her head high. The pain in the heart for becoming a prey of betrayal was miserable but she was a fighter. She was not characterless like Collins accused and she has not done anything wrong. By any means she was going to prove to him how wrong he was in judging her.

"Where to ma'am?" Words of the driver brought her to the present. The taxi arrived too late as there was a curfew. By the time she reached home it was ten past ten. Juliet was feeling extremely tired from the events of the day But to her surprise she was denied an entry. The butler tossed her suitcase outside the gate. "We have an order from the senior Madam, you can no longer live in this house." He coldly told her.

She couldn't expect a better response from him. The servants in the house are puppets of Sherilyn. She was sure all this was planned by her to put her down before the world and tell her what a low life she was. Maybe that's true because her mother is a murderer and dad died. She felt like somebody wringed her and squeezed the blood from her heart. "Hello ma'am do you require a ride?" The driver of a cab asked after seeing her dragging the suitcase on the deserted street.

"Yes please." She took a taxi straight to Greenfield Hospital for a reexamination. Luckily Juliet found a doctor she trusted. He was on night duty. "Good evening Dr Hector. I have my pregnancy report with me. But it is impossible for me to be carrying a child because I am still a virgin."

The doctor took the report and went to the laboratory. After an age he came back. With the emotions on his face, it was clear he made a good research on it. "I am sorry Juliet that you had to go through all this. However, it is confirmed that the report is accurate. The hospital records show you have undergone an artificial insemination procedure last month which turned out successful and you're pregnant."

"What?" She asked him in shock. Her legs were about to give up. Before she fell,

Juliet dragged her feet to the nearby chair and slumped there. "But I came here last month only for a routine gynecological check-up and nothing was wrong with me."

It looked like Doctor Hector already got the clue. "Were you drugged?"

Juliet went under a deep trance. She is a medical student. If an artificial insemination was done on her, she would come to know about it. But she has no memory of any such procedure happening to her. Obviously she was drugged.

"You underwent an artificial insemination instead of a routine check up. Unfortunately to prove it the doctor who performed the procedure had left the hospital. She has been absconding since that day and can't be traced."

Dr Hector looked at her pitifully and his next words were much more softer, in a way only Juliet could hear. "This procedural doctor was hired by your step sister."

That's it! Her assumption was right regarding Mollie. She is the culprit. She felt the burst of a holocaust in her.

"You bloody...you are going to pay for every bit of bitchy game you played with me, Mollie." She screamed with fury fisting her hands.
