For the past two days, Jenifer had been staying at the luxurious Hilton family apartment. Bryan pampered her with top-tier service and lavish facilities.
"Jenifer..."
The man approached her on the balcony and hugged her from behind.
She was startled.
"What's wrong?"
"The child's blood matches mine."
"Well, I only ever slept with you, Bryan," she replied while staring into his eyes.
Bryan hugged her again, tighter this time.
"Stay with me. We'll raise this child together," he whispered.
Jenifer could only fall silent in his arms.
"Bryan? Have you told your wife? Honestly, this really bothers me."
"Everything's fine, Jeni..."
The woman lowered her head in sadness.
"I can't imagine how she must feel."
"Don't feel guilty like that, Jeni. What you're thinking is nothing like what's really happening. My marriage isn't as harmonious as it seems."
"Enough, Bryan! You're just trying to comfort me."
Meanwhile, at Grace Domani's luxurious home,
She had locked herself in her room for two days.
Her husband hadn't come home since the day he left to meet the pregnant woman.
She chose silence and didn't tell her father-in-law.
Instead, she cried in her room for two whole days.
The love she had carefully nurtured for years had turned to ashes.
All her efforts to make Bryan fall in love with her now felt meaningless.
Knock knock knock...
She heard a knock on the door. Grace sat up, startled to see Albert standing before her.
"What are you doing here? How did you get in?"
"Ma'am, you've locked yourself in for two days. I was worried something happened to you."
"I'm fine," she said while sitting back down. Her eyes were swollen.
"I'm sorry, Ma'am. I had to force the door open."
Albert glanced around and saw snack wrappers everywhere.
"For two days, you've been crying and only eating snacks?"
Grace looked at the mess on the floor.
"Leave... this is none of your business!"
"I'll ask the maids to bring some real food."
"No need..."
Albert signaled the maids at the door, and two women in uniform brought in trays of food.
After placing the dishes on the nightstand, they quietly left.
Albert, however, stayed behind.
"Why are you still here?"
"I'm sorry, Ma'am. I feel really guilty. As Mr. Bryan's personal assistant, I shouldn't have kept anything from you. You seem deeply hurt."
Grace swallowed hard and broke into tears again.
Albert was unsure what to do. He just stood there, watching her sob, wiping away her tears.
"Why don't you tell Bryan's family? Are you going to keep this all to yourself?"
"No, Albert. I won't tell my in-laws. I'm afraid my marriage will fall apart. I'm terrified of losing Bryan... absolutely terrified," she murmured, tears streaming down her cheeks.
Albert was touched and slowly shook his head.
Grace tried to get out of bed to head to the bathroom, but her weak body faltered and she nearly fell.
Albert caught her around the waist, and Grace was startled by the firm arms wrapped around her.
Her eyes scanned his chiseled face carefully. Albert stared into her eyes warmly, and for a moment, Grace lost herself in that gaze, forgetting the pain she was in.
"I'm sorry, Ma'am," Albert said as he helped her sit down again.
Grace could only nod.
"Maybe you should eat something first, Ma'am. You'll feel better after that. I'm worried about your health."
Grace hesitated, then whispered, "Yes, you're right."
Albert picked up the tray and handed it to her.
"Please, Ma'am, have something to eat..."
Grace took the tray from him.
Albert bowed slightly and excused himself.
"I'll take my leave, Ma'am. I'll come back later to check on you."
Grace nodded awkwardly as he turned to go.
But then, reflexively, she called out, "Albert, wait..."
The man turned around.
"Yes?"
Grace looked at his face, unsure why she had stopped him.
"Yes, Ma'am? Is there something you need?"
"Um... no. Nothing."
Albert paused, then respectfully left the room.
