I stared at Shawn's lifeless body, my heart hammering in my chest.
Christopher handed me a phone, a dagger, and a flashlight.
He placed the phone firmly in my palm, making sure I held it tightly. "You drew Hide and Seek. Now they're all coming for you," he said. "We'll meet at the storage barn on the eastern side. I'll go distract them now!"
Before I could react, Christopher dashed out the door.
Though I had no idea what was going on, I instinctively fled into the woods behind the house.
I ran as fast as I could. A chilling wolf howl was heard from behind, sending shivers down my spine.
Suddenly, a slender figure appeared in front of me.
My guard shot up immediately, but as I cautiously approached, I realized who it was.
It was Vivian Dobson, Christopher's younger sister.
Relief washed over me, and I crouched down in front of her.
"Vivian, do you know where the storage barn is?"
Vivian smiled innocently, took my hand, and began leading me forward.
But as we walked, something felt off. Vivian was leading me further and further away from the path.
This wasn't the way to the storage barn at all!
I shook off her hand immediately, but my vision began to blur.
Vivian let out a hideous laugh, baring a mouthful of sharp fangs. Her head grotesquely swelled, her limbs stretched unnaturally. In the end, she transformed into a wolf-headed monster, standing nearly half my height.
Before I could grab the dagger, my head grew heavy, and everything went black.
When I woke up, I found myself being dragged along the ground by one leg.
Vivian's body was now covered in black fur, and a thick, bristly tail brushed repeatedly across my face.
I flexed my limbs and realized I had regained my strength. An idea struck me, and I began to wail in pain.
Vivian stopped as expected, crouched down to check on me.
Clutching my stomach, I begged, "Vivian, my stomach hurts so much!"
Vivian looked regretful, licking her drooling lips.
"It's all my fault. I must've overdone it with the poison in your food tonight. Now you're not fresh anymore!"
"Why do you want to eat me?" I asked, feigning terror. Vivian gapped her wolf mouth and laughed.
"You drew Hide and Seek. You won't make it till dawn!"
Her words gave me a crucial piece of information. Turned out if I could hold out until sunrise, I might have a chance to live.
Realizing her slip, Vivian quickly covered her mouth. Seizing the moment, I pulled out the dagger and plunged it into her abdomen.
Vivian let out a bloodcurdling scream as her body began to wither and collapse in on itself. In the end, her corpse reverted to its human form.
