Chapter 5 $20000 worth gown

"$10,000 for just a piece of gown!!"

"The girl looks like she's from a rich family but the man..he doesn't look like he has the bag!"

The customers around comments in whispers.

Celeste gulped down. Even if she's from a rich family, her parents don't tolerate her spending extravagantly like she had always wanted.

It'll hurt her pride if she backs down. She'ld do everything possible just to make sure Bill pulls away from the bidding.

"If I pay for the dress, you'll go on your knees and lick my shoe." She Snickered, expecting Bill to back down.

"And if I do?" Bill's brow arched.

She was slightly taken aback that Bill didn't feel threatened that if he actually couldn't pay, he'll have to lick her shoe.

"I'll do whatever you ask me." She retorted.

"You'll kiss the floor if I purchase the gown." He said with a simple smile, having the intention to teach Celeste a lesson.

"Let's see about that. $12,000!!" Celeste made sure her voice was loud and collective gasps from customers symphonized in the air.

"This is crazy! Is she really going to buy the gown for $12,000!!?" One of them murmured.

"I love her confidence. She's indeed from a rich family. Doesn't looks like she's joking."

The comments of admirations from the customers made Celeste's heart puff with pride which motivated her more to flaunt her ego.

"Let's just get out of here, please." Beauty whispered fearfully to Bills' hearing but he shook his head and his next statement sent a wave of shock through the air.

"I'll pay $20,000 for the gown!!"

Beauty's eyes flashed with shock "What do you think you're doing! You're only complicating the issues here!!" She whispered in concern.

Celeste was visibly shaken by the amount Bill stated but looking at the faces of the people and thinking about the embarrassment she'll face if she backs out, she pressed further.

"21,000." The reluctance in her voice was noticed and Bill smiled comprehensively.

"Alright. I give up. You pay for it." Bill said and stepped aside.

Celeste almost had a heart attack when Bill made the statement. Was this his plan all along? To inflate the Price and make her pay!!

"You see you're a coward. You backed out in the middle." She flared immediately, thinking Bill would reconsider and shamefully continue the challenge but he didn't even burge.

"Just pay for the dress." He simply said.

"Remember you'll lick my shoe when I finally pay.. I'll take a video of it and it'll trend insanely online. It'll boost my followers." She laughed.

"Are you paying with transfer or cash?" Stephanie stepped in impatiently.

"Ermm... Transfer but I'm paying $5000 since he backed out in the middle." She stuttered.

"It's not done like that, Miss. The price has already changed since the bidding started and that's the rules. You're paying $21,000." Stephenie stated clearly.

Bill smiled seeing how Celeste's hand trembled Slightly as she tapped the screen of her phone.

Her shoulder slumped when she saw her account balance. She had just $6000 left in her account!

A thought quickly occurred to her. She's going to call her mum to get some money from her so she raised her head and looked at Stephenie.

"I need to make a call." She said,

Bill chuckled. "You need to make a call before you make the payment? What bank has such a protocol or you're just about to beg for a few bucks like a helpless beggar." He mocked.

Celeste gritted her teeth and glared at Bill without a word and she stepped aside– away from listening ears.

She tossed her hair behind her shoulder and her finger tapped on her screen. She put a call across to her mum.

"Hello mum." She took the phone to her hair but the noises coming from the other end couldn't allow her to hear properly. "Mum..can you step away from where you are?" She raised her voice a bit.

"I'm busy right now, baby girl. I'll catch you later." Her mum said and the call dropped.

"Hello..mum..are you there!! Damn!!" She lamented, her frustration mounting.

She dialed some of her friends' numbers too but none of them gave a good response.

"Jezz!!" She shrieked angrily, her frustration effusing.

She glanced in the direction of Bull and Beauty to see them staring at her.

"That guy doesn't look like someone who can pay $20,000. I know he's only bluffing. I'll just leave and tell them I won't be needing the gown again. Let's see how he'll pay." She chuckled and walked to them.

She cleared her throat. "Ermm..I don't think I'll be needing the dress again." She tucked her hair behind.

Bill snorted, not ready to engage in any more squabble with her. "I'll just pay for the gown." He said and retrieved the black card from his pocket.

Celeste's eyes widened seeing the black card. She recognised it immediately because her mother had told her how badly she wanted the card but only those with billions in their account can have access to it. Seeing a poor looking guy like Bill possess it got her Marvelled.

"Isn't that a black card!! Where did you get it from!??" She blurted out carelessly, eyes wide with surprise.

"Where I get it from is none of your business. Your business here is to lick the floor after I pay for the gown." Bill laughed softly and gave Stephenie the card.

"Before we pay, is that everything you'll be needing?" He asked Beauty.

"Humm.. I'll need a black stiletto too." She hummed.

The black stiletto was added to the purchase and the bill amounted to $21,000.

Stephanie slipped the card into the Payment machine to conclude the transaction. She tapped swiftly on the screen and stretched it to Bill.

"Your pin sir." She said,

Celeste was expecting nothing but a failed transaction. A poor looking guy like Bill shouldn't be able to afford $21,000. He must have stolen the card too! She concluded.

A frown crossed Stephanie's face when an error message popped up on the screen.

"Incorrect pin sir." She read out.

Celeste bursted into laughter and jammed her palm together, bringing forth a mocking clap with no sight of end to her laughter.

"I said it! I said it!" Celeste blurted out sharply in-between her laughter. She pointed an accusing finger at Bill. "This man here stole the card!"
