Chapter 4 The Proposal

The young man who was so shocked at her attitude, ran outside to her.

''Stop!''He shouted at her. But she wasn't stopping. He still kept running after Stella who was now walking very fast. Soon, he reached her side, held her by the waist side, and pinned her to the wall.

''Where do you think you are going?''The young man asked.

''Do I owe you any explanation?. I am sure you received back your $50,000, so why are you still troubling me?''Stella asked him.

The young man kept silent, looking at her. He was so drawn to her, like ants that were drawn to sugar. There was something so special about her, and that was what he was trying to find out.

''Or I guess you didn't have enough of me tonight?''She asked again.

''I see that you will be needing my help. How can I help you?''The young man asked.

''Are you serious?.What help,and did I tell you that I will be needing your help in any way?''Stella asked.

''If you won't be needing my help, let me atleast follow you to where you are going''The young man said.

''Excuse me please. I would like to go and see my daughter who is in one of the rooms of this same hotel,''Stella replied, pushing him back.

He stood strong in where he was standing. He held her by her hand.

''Let's go together please. I would like to know more about you. Importantly, I am in love with you''The young man informed.

''What the hell is your name?''Stella asked him.

''Armstrong''He said.

The both of them fixed their eyes on each other, looking at themselves romantically. Armstrong was very serious about his words and intentions on her, while she was confused about her intentions on her because she doesn't know who he is, and where he came from. She has no option, but to let him walk with her.

Now in the room where Janeth was sleeping, Armstrong was surprised to see that she truly had a little daughter. Janeth was still fast asleep, and not knowing what was going on. Stella just laid beside her, feeling and tapping her hairs.

''Where is your husband,and why are you here all alone with your daughter?''Armstrong asked.

''He left me and his daughter, over another woman''Stella replied.

''What was his reason?. How could he be so blind to leave a pretty sweet woman like you?''Armstrong asked her.

''You can go and ask him, if you care,''Stella responded.

''If I see him, I will definitely ask him. But I don't know him anyway''Armstrong said.

Stella became quiet, not wanting and wishing to say anything again.

''What's your husband's name, if I may ask?''Armstrong asked.

''I don't wish to remember him again and please, stop asking me about him,''Stella replied.

''I understand what you are passing through, and I want to help you''Armstrong informed.

''You want to help somebody you don't know?.What if I am a hardened criminal, or a witch, let's say. Will you still be here asking me questions, and demanding to help me?''Stella asked, wishing to know what was in his mind.

Armstrong kept looking at her. All what she was seeing in her, was one whom he must love and follow. In her, he was seeing one who would possibly be his wife. The love he has for her, automatically became strong. Stella was a very charming lady. Her attitude of rejecting his money and not wanting to be called and known as a prostitute, kept drawing him closer. He has never seen something like this ever happen before. Definitely, no woman in NewYork and America, would reject the sum of $50,000 from any man who took advantage of her body,based on monetary terms. Armstrong saw that Stella was even regretting the sexual acts she had with him. He could see that she was drunk, and wasn't really in her right senses, when she agreed to have sex with him. Her mind was bleeding and troubled during that time.

''Just be calm with me. I know that you don't trust me at the moment, and ofcourse, I don't expect you to ever trust me anyway. Just try as much as you can, to be free with me. I have said that I am here, and open to help you in any way that you want. Not because I want to, but because I love you. Yeah, I really love you and if you can give me that little space in your heart, I will make your world a better place''Armstrong said.

''I have heard that so many times. You can't deceive me with your words. Just finish with your words, and get out of my room''Stella said.

Armstrong moved close to her, and hurriedly kissed her. His lips were still fixed on hers, when she removed it. She was confused at the way things were going. She just came out from her marital relationship, and another romantic relationship has been presented to her again. She was not ready for anything of this kind because at this time,all she wanted to do was to adjust and move her life forward.

Currently, she has something she was planning in her mind, which was to find a job for herself. When she was still married to Gideon, he prevented her from working or looking for jobs. Now, she has seen how drastically it affected her. With this, she will never allow any man to stop her from being financially independent again.

''You can now leave my room please''Stella told him.

''I don't think that will be possible, my dear''Armstrong responded.

''What!.You will force me right?''Stella asked, frowning at him, and wondering what he was about to do next.

''I don't know what you might have gone through in the past, but I know that you are a good lady. People like you, don't deserve to be badly treated. If you stay with me, I will make you that woman you always wanted to become. I won't control you, and I won't enforce my decisions on you. You will have your way,''Armstrong said.

''What!. What has come over you?''Stella asked.

''Marry me,Stella''Armstrong said, while kneeling down on his knees.
