Chapter 5 The Silence.

The silence in the room was enough to break the walls of the room.

She lifted up her face and looked at Aaron. All of her thoughts were tied to asking him why he was doing what he was doing.

There was confusion written all over her face because she could not believe that he would be doing that.

Her eyes caught the papers that Aaron now held; they spoke of cruelty, and that's when she realized what she had done.

Her eyes would not leave the papers in his hands. She felt like she had done something wrong. Something she was going to regret.

She looked at Alex and saw how hateful he looked.

" What do you think you are doing?" He went to Aaron.

" Step back, this is what I want. At least, I did not take her away from you. You willingly sent her away, and now, she's mine," he said.

Alex scoffed. A look of mockery in his eyes.

" I can not believe you are going to fall for her deceit and her lies, I threw her out of my life because she sleeps around and she's not good enough, and you want the same person?"

" I did that for myself, and it has nothing to do with you; now, move, get out of my way," he said.

He held her hands in a way that spoke loudly about his ownership of her. His eyes went around the room, looking at his family members.

" I have something important to say" he looked at them.

" I hope it has nothing to do with the person next to you," his uncle said.

He chuckled.

" It has everything to do with her, and you all are going to pay attention to me," he said.

Murmurs were sparking all over the room, but he did not care. It was never going to move him.

He has always been that way and they are never going to change a thing right now.

" I want to warn everyone here that you can not talk rudely to her or do anything that would hurt her. If you do that, I'll come for you"

" Are you choosing her over your family? You know you can not do that right?"

" Then watch me do it," he said.

His hands were still locked in Cat's hands. He held it tight in a way that she could not release her hands from his strong grip.

He turned and began walking towards the door.

Cat did not want to be caught in all of these. Her marriage to Alex just ended and she was with another man? Not just any other man, this was Aaron, the same family?

She wondered what people were going to think of her, what they were going to say about her. She was going from one family member to the other.

She felt this was a little game they were having and she did not want to be part of it.

The car door opened.

" Go in, I'll go get your other belongings," he said.

" Why is this happening so fast?"

" This is not the time for this," he said and closed the door on her.

He went back into the house.

" Ooh, look who's back, are you back to return her?" His mother asked.

" You all wish that is going to happen, but it won't. I'm here to take the rest of her belongings" he said.

His voice was authoritative and filled with strength. His eyes were cold and commanding.

Rebecca was the one dragging her suitcase down the stairs. She had all the hate in her eyes as she brought them down.

" You should be careful with that. Don't ruin them" he said.

" You can not tell me what to do"

" Excuse me?" He turned and faced her. There was anger all over this face.

When Rebecca saw the way he was acting, she quickly moved to Alex's side.

" I will not have you talk to me that way. If you do that again, I'll put you in your place, where you rightfully belong. I have no idea what you are doing with someone like this" he said as he looked at Alex, feeling disgusted.

He carried Cat's bags outside. He kept them at the back of the car and then got in.

" I need an explanation. Why do you want to marry me? Was the sex we had that good that you want to keep having it?" She asked him.

She was so mad at herself for the decision she just took and that was because she had no idea why he was doing what he was doing.

He kept his face right on the road without a word to her. He ignored her all through the drive to his house.

She felt hurt, betrayed, and abandoned. She felt like she was just a piece of trash and when one brother finishes with her, she is moved to the other brother.

" I asked you a question, are you not going to answer me or something?" She yelled this time around. Hoping he gives her an explanation as to why he went ahead to marry her right after that sex they had.

He refused to say anything to her. He stayed quiet while driving.

She was going crazy as she felt they were only playing their tricks on her.

" Was this a bet between you and your brother?" She asked.

He quickly turned and looked at her, then faced the road.

" Don't you ever say that to me? I am way too big for such an act," he said.

" Finally, you get to say something to me. Why, then, have you been quiet? Don't you think I deserve to know something?"

He drove into the garage, came out of the car, and opened the car door for her.

" Get her things out of the car and put them in the room next to mine," he said.

He stretched her hands towards her for her to put her hands in his.

" I can go in on my own; I do not need your help," she said.

She was about to walk away when he grabbed her and pulled her close to his chest.

His eyes rested on her, and she could feel his breath on her skin. His hands were firm on her waist, and he held her like he was not giving her a chance to leave his side.

" I'm going to hold your hands; we are going to walk in like the couple we are," he said.

His eyes had excitement in them as he blinked them.

" Okay, anything you say" she finally gave in.

She saw that he was never going to back down and he was someone that she could not turn down as well.

There was no point fighting him as he would surely have his way.

He held her hands firmly as they walked into the house.

It was a big house. Cat gasped at how large it was, it was way better than what Alex had. Even though they were planning to move to a bigger space.

The maids were all lined up, with smiles on their faces. She knew that Aaron was wealthy but she had no idea that it was this way.

Her heart was a bit relaxed when she saw the lineup of maids at her disposal.

" Welcome your new boss, meet my wife, Catherine Landon Dawson," he said.

Cat could not believe that he actually called her his wife. This was strange and she felt weird about it.
