Chapter 6 Setting In

Chapter 6: Settling In

Felicia believed that the awkward questions were over... that was until...

"So," Tyrus began, his gaze steady and curious, "do you enjoy your role as Luna?"

Felicia's eyes widened, caught off guard by the directness of the question. She fumbled for words, her face flushing with a mix of embarrassment and surprise. "I... um..." She stammered, trying to steady her voice. "I enjoy it," she managed to say, her smile barely visible but sincere.

For the first time, Tyrus's stern expression softened into a genuine smile. "Good," he replied, his tone warm and approving. "It's important that you understand and embrace your role as Luna."

His words carried a weight of reassurance that Felicia had rarely experienced. "If you keep up with your duties," Tyrus continued, his voice steady, "I'll make sure to fulfill all my responsibilities as Alpha and as your mate."

Felicia's smile broadened, her nervousness melting away in the warmth of his response. "Thank you, Tyrus," she said softly, her voice filled with genuine gratitude. "I'll do my best."

The moment was charged with a new sense of understanding and respect. Felicia, still basking in the glow of his smile, felt a newfound confidence. "I appreciate your support," she said, her tone reflecting the sincerity of her feelings.

As their conversation came to an end, the air between them was lighter, filled with a hopeful uncertainty. Felicia felt a shift in their relationship, a tentative step towards something deeper. "I look forward to what's ahead," she said, her eyes meeting his with a mix of anticipation and hope.

Tyrus nodded, his gaze thoughtful. "So do I," he replied, a hint of warmth in his voice. "Let's embrace it together."

After breakfast, Tyrus gestured for Felicia to follow him, his stride purposeful as he led her through the grand corridors of the castle. The grandeur of the castle's architecture loomed around them, the sunlight filtering through the tall windows.

When they arrived at the courtyard, the scene before them was a whirlwind of activity. Dozens of omegas were engaged in a rigorous training session, their movements precise and coordinated. At the center of the commotion stood Lector, effortlessly evading attacks from over fifty omegas.

"Here we are," Tyrus said, his voice cutting through the noise. "This is Lector, my right hand, enforcer, and beta. More importantly, he's my brother."

Felicia's eyes widened as she took in the sight of Lector. "Your brother?" she asked, a note of surprise in her voice. "I didn't know."

Tyrus nodded, a hint of pride in his gaze. "Yes, and the bond we share is unbreakable. We've been through a lot together."

Felicia's attention was drawn back to Lector, who continued to demonstrate his impressive evasive skills. Unable to help herself, she quipped, "No wonder he's so uptight. Must be a family trait."

Tyrus raised an eyebrow, clearly intrigued. "Excuse me?"

Felicia's face flushed with embarrassment. "Oh, nothing. Just a thought," she said quickly, looking away.

As they watched Lector, Felicia's curiosity was piqued. "Why isn't he fighting back?" she asked, her gaze fixed on Lector's nimble movements. "He's just dodging their attacks."

"There's no point in attacking an opponent who can't land a blow," Tyrus explained, his tone matter-of-fact. "Why waste the energy?"

Felicia nodded, absorbing his words. "I see. It's impressive how he controls the situation."

Tyrus smiled, his eyes following Lector's every move. "Indeed. He's the strongest among us. If he weren't, I wouldn't be Alpha."

She began to appreciate the intricate dynamics within the pack and the skills of its members, gaining a deeper understanding of their hierarchy and strengths.

The following morning, Felicia approached Tyrus with a determined look in her eyes. She found him in his study, immersed in paperwork, and cleared her throat to get his attention.

"Tyrus, can we talk?" Felicia began, her voice carrying a hint of hesitation.

Tyrus glanced up, his expression serious. "Of course, Felicia. What's on your mind?"

"I was hoping I could leave the pack's castle for a while," Felicia said, her tone earnest. "I need a break from the confines here."

Tyrus's face immediately tensed, and he set his pen down. "Felicia, you know how high the stakes are for us. We're one of the top packs in the country, and with that comes a lot of enemies. I can't just let you go out without considering the risks."

Felicia's gaze softened as she watched his concern unfold. "I understand your worries, Tyrus. But I've been reflecting on what you've said and the responsibilities you carry. I realize now that I might have misjudged you."

Tyrus looked at her, his brow furrowed. "Misjudged me?"

"Yes," Felicia continued, her voice growing more heartfelt. "I always thought of you as just a ruthless Alpha. But seeing how you handle your duties and the way you've spoken about protecting everything you've built... it's made me see a different side of you. You're not just a leader; you're someone who genuinely cares."

Tyrus's expression softened slightly. "And what about our personal moments?" he asked, his tone more vulnerable than usual. "Have those changed your view of me?"

Felicia nodded, a shy smile touching her lips. "Yes. You've been gentle with me, even if you're assertive in our personal life. It's made me realize there's more to you than I initially thought."

Determined to convince him, Felicia put on her best pleading face. She tilted her head slightly, pouting with her puppy dog eyes and puffing her cheeks out in a way she hoped was irresistible.

Tyrus's resolve wavered as he looked at her. "You really know how to pull at my heartstrings," he said with a sigh. "Alright, Felicia. I'll let you go, but you must take Lector with you. It's for your protection."

Felicia's eyes lit up with gratitude. "Thank you, Tyrus. I promise to be careful."

Tyrus's concern remained evident, even as he nodded. "Just remember, I'm doing this because I care about your safety. Please don't make me regret it."
