Chapter 2 Tracy's Cruel Game Of Love

TRACY'S POV:

I left the office with my assistant Emily. She handled the files that needed to be signed.

"Place those files on top of my table. I will work on them tomorrow". I took my hand bag to leave the office without saying anything else to her.

"Sorry to interrupt you Miss Whitmore, you have an important meeting by 6pm this evening and......"

"Postpone the meeting. I am very busy". I cut her off before she could finish her sentence.

"But the chairman said the meeting was very important". She said with sweat on her forehead. My assistant doesn't dare interrupt me when I give her an order unless it's coming from my father and my father told me about this meeting before, I was so occupied with my plans with Lucas tonight that I forgot about the meeting.

My phone rang and before I brought out the phone to answer the call, I already knew the caller ID.

"Hello, my love". Lucas tried his best to entice me with his voice.

The most fun part of this game is I always act like a harmless lamb until I get my victim to be at the exact spot I wanted him to be.

"Hello Lucas, where are you?" I smiled slyly as I answered his call.

"You are so unromantic Tracy. You couldn't even call me sweet names just like I did". His tone was like that of a child throwing tantrums.

"You know that I am not good at that, Lucas". I tried to sound as innocent as possible.

"My driver is at the front of your office. He would take you to the spa for you to get ready for tonight". His voice was filled with excitement. Only if he knew what's coming for him.

"Something just came up right now. I forgot that I have an important meeting by 6:00 pm today. My father was supposed to attend the meeting but he isn't that strong. He went to the hospital for a check up". My tone sounded as if I was sad.

"Then in that case, call me when you are done with the meeting, I will come and get you myself". I was expecting him to get disappointed but surprisingly he didn't make a fuss about it.

"Alright Lucas, I will try as much as possible to make the meeting brief". I replied in a cheerful tone and the call ended.

"Can I come with you Miss Whitmore?". My assistant Emily asked as I picked up my bag to leave.

"No need, you can go home and rest". She widened her eyes in shock, maybe because I spoke to her nicely. I don't usually use a soft tone when I'm talking to her but today I am very happy because very soon I will conquer and shatter someone's heart. I just have this feeling that Lucas will propose tonight.

"Are you sure Miss Whitmore, that you don't want me to follow you?". She asked to make sure that I was not joking with her.

"I am in a good mood today, don't ruin it with your unnecessary questions". She flinched at the tone that I used. This is the tone she recognizes, harsh, full of command and emotionless.

"Alright, I will tidy up the office and leave when I'm done". I didn't say a word to her again, I walked out with my bag.

When I got down from my personal elevator, the noise downstairs died down as my employees spotted me. Everyone got busy immediately.

"Good evening Miss Whitmore". They greeted me but I didn't even spare them a glance.

I got to the parking lot and met Lucas's driver. Lucas is from a rich and noble home, but his wealth can't be compared to mine.

"Good evening Miss Whitmore". He greeted me with a grin.

"Take me to the office mini branch, I have an important meeting there. But first of all, I want to get to the spa for makeup". I said with a stoic facial expression and then entered the car and he closed it.

I felt something huge would happen today. What if Lucas wants to really propose?

After the spa I went to the company's branch for the meeting. The manager, Mr Williams was already waiting for me at the entrance of the building with his subordinate holding a bouquet.

"Welcome Miss Whitmore. I am honored to see you today". Mr Williams said with a smile and handed me the bouquet.

"Hmm". I said to him then walked inside without taking the flower from him.

He followed me immediately to where I was going.

"Have the clients arrived already?". I asked him.

"Yes,they are here. They arrived by....."

"Did I ask you the time they arrived?". I asked him with a cold tone and I saw a bead of sweat already appearing on his forehead.

"I...am sorry for overstepping my boundaries Miss Whitmore". He stuttered.

"Next time you repeat this again I will replace you and make sure that no company in this city and beyond takes you as their staff again". Mr Williams knelt down immediately and started pleading for me to forgive him.

"This is just a warning that I am giving you and I don't forgive twice and stand up from there and get your ass inside the conference hall". I said with a harsh tone and Mr Williams did as I instructed immediately.

I entered the conference hall through the automatic door. I saw four men in suits but my eyes caught the man that was in a brown suit. His back was turned against me but I felt that I knew him from somewhere.

I walked to the middle chair which is specially for my father, the chairman of the company. My eyes met him. Dante the man that betrayed and shattered my heart five years ago. He was shocked to see me but I maintained my expressionless facial facade and ignored him.

"My father was supposed to be the one attending this meeting but he had something urgent to do and he pleaded that I represent him in this meeting. I will make this meeting as brief as possible so if any of you have a question don't irritate me by beating around the bush just go straight to the point. I hope I am well understood?". I asked them while still maintaining my stoic facial expression. And they affirmed in unison.

I opened the first man's file and went through his proposal.

"Mr Robert I have gone through your file and I understand everything here. I want to ask what value you will bring to this company because for your company to be at the verge of bankruptcy it means you didn't manage it well enough". He was already sweating profusely and couldn't even say a word to convince me that he would be of value to my company.

"Since you are keeping mute then leave this hall immediately I want to focus on serious people". He stood up and attempted to speak but I shunned him.

"Your time has expired, I gave you the opportunity to speak and convince me to let your company collaborate with mine but you kept quiet and now you want to speak? Security, you know exactly what to do". I threw his file on his face and wiped my hands with a clean handkerchief as if I touched something filthy.

"If any of you know that you have come to this meeting unprepared then I advise you to leave because if you are unable to convince me that your company would be of any value to mine I will not leave you to go simply I will make your company bankrupt with just a single phone call. I said initially that I am not here to waste time. I am giving you people just a minute if after a minute passes and none of you have left this hall I will assume that you have come prepared and you can convince me". I said sternly with a cold expression on my face.

"I will speak to the chairman myself. You are so rude to your elders. You were not trained very well. I am leaving". I gave the man a cold grin and at the same time I brought out my phone to make sure that I teach this man a lesson.

"I want to see and hear the news of shares dropping in Mr Morgan's company in just five minutes". I said to my shadow worker whose name is Drona.

Mr Morgan stood there staring at me in disbelief. Dante on the other hand still hard this shock expression on his face.

In just five minutes Mr Morgan's phone beeped and I smirked at him.

"Sir the company shares has reduced drastically and most of the shareholders are withdrawing all of a sudden". The phone was on loud speaker so I heard the panic of the man that called Mr Morgan.

"You will not get away with this I promise you". Mr Morgan said furiously and left in anger.

I opened the next file and that was Dante's file. I kept it aside and moved over to the next file.

"Mr Jims what do you have to say about your proposal?". I noticed that Mr Jims legs were shaking as he stood up to speak.

"I..... am.... her..e....".

"If your mind is not made up yet to speak like a man then leave because if you irritate me again with your stuttering I will not only drop your company's share I will blacklist it". Mr Jimsjj

"I am very sorry Miss Whitmore I will get prepared and see you in a few days time". He said with a voice that showed that he was really scared.

"Don't bother to set up a meeting with me in any day because if you do I will not spare you". I threatened him and he ran out immediately.

I was now alone with Dante. I picked up my bag to leave without opening his file.

"Tracy please listen to me I know....".

"Mr Williams you can leave now". I said to Mr Williams who stood up and left immediately without a word.

"Who are you addressing as Tracy Mr. Who are you again?" I asked him cold.

"Tracy...." He touched my left hand as he called my name and I gave him a tight slap on his face. He gave me a bitter smile.

"I deserve whatever you would like to do to me right now but please forgive me I fucked up". He pleaded with me.

I never thought a day would come that the almighty Dante Blake would kneel before me and beg.

"Just bear this in mind I will ruin you and make you regret what you did to me in the past". I said with a devilish smile and walked out on him.
