Lucas POV
The warm water trickles on my body, my skin quivers as I breathe heavily. My mind was void of thoughts until her face appeared.
I only agreed to this marriage because of my mother's dying wish. She wanted me married and that's where Denise comes in, the supposed bride.
No touching attached and certainly no affection. All I wanted was to keep away from her.
After the wedding, I intended to go on a business trip which suddenly got canceled.
Thanks to my father, who pulled some tricks and claimed it was my honeymoon, and so I should make the best out of it.
Just to while away time, I decided to drown myself in alcohol not until I felt horny and the bitch I called to fuck wasn't responding.
Annoyingly, I paced around the mansion.
When I recalled I actually have a wife and being a loyal husband, I decided to say hi.
The way she stared at me with disgust when I stormed into the room. I was intoxicated, and I just wanted to have sex with her, not minding her plea.
I hated that look of her. I was so close to making her realize she was mine even though she hated me.
Not when Ivan barged in like a superhero, claiming there was an emergency.
I was furious that he interrupted and that's why I punched him when we were out of her room.
I just didn't know why I stopped when she said so. Like she hypnotized me, I never listened to anyone.
The way she looked at him, the sadness when they stared at each other. I shook the thought of my head.
It's just a coincidence. Ivan is nice to everyone and saves everyone from me.
I turned off the shower, grabbed my towel and tied it to my waist.
Languorously, I dragged my legs from the bathroom. It was such an exhausting night and I needed rest.
Once I had dried myself, I got into a T-shirt and shorts.
I intended to head to my study room, just to have a check on what the market price entails.
It's the only way I can keep calm and forget the events of tonight.
While I walked out of the room, pacing around the lobby and then to the balcony leading outside, my eyes suddenly met Denise.
She was around the pavement, staring at no one and took her step inside the gate.
Her pale face, her scattered hair blown aside by the wind, the robe she wore, the way she walks, that frown and looking at her suddenly made me forget what I intended to do.
I scoffed, raked my left brow and scrolled my eyes around.
There was no servant to attend to my needs, and I was suddenly hungry.
Hurriedly, I pounced towards the door, just to obstruct her from entering the house.
She wasn't looking, and she had almost taken a step inside when she freaked out, like I was some kind of ghost.
She rubbed her chest and tried to regain her breath.
"What do you want?" She coldly asked, and I widened my eyes at her.
Who does she think she is? No one dare question me in such a manner.
A smirk escaped my lips as I took a calculative step closer to her, my eyes glaring into her and I could sense the fear she was trying to hide.
"I'm hungry, and I want you to prepare my dinner" I declared, folding my arms with a stern look at her.
"Then order something" she replied and walked past me. She took me by surprise and I felt she was stepping on my ego.
I grew furious and stormed behind her, grabbed her hand and shoved her closer to me.
She was wrestling from my grip, but I held firm. I enjoyed how she winced and yelled that I was hurting her.
"No one refuses me an order! "You'd cook for me bitch!" I ordered in between my teeth but because my legs were still slippery, she pushed me and I accidentally rammed my head on the flower vase close to us.
It shattered and I groaned in pain. She was panting hard behind me. I grew led, my eyes felt dizzy and, if I wasn't mistaken, I was seeing stars.
Shit! It felt like the building collapsed on me. It fucking hurts. Was this how painful it was punching Ivan?
I rubbed my head and shifted my gaze at me. She was staring like a witch and I intended to jump at her, but she moved aside, and I landed on the ground.
I think I broke a bone because that fall was like crashing down from a hill. My body trembled on the ground as it was so hard to bury the pain.
I couldn't even get up.
She rushed to where I lay, looking worried and trying to assist me.
I roared she should leave, and this witch was leaving. When I said she should leave, I meant she should stay.
Doesn't she have a sense of sympathy?
"Denise..." I cried, trying so hard to get up, but it was vein. I just didn't want to make it look as though I was pleading for help from her.
I could hear her heavy sigh as she walked back to me and stretched her hand at me.
She looked frustrated, and her eyes peered at me with resentment, her lips pressed together, her eyes dull and lifeless by the weight of her sadness.
With a frown, I grabbed her hand and she aided me to stand.
She intended to abandon me, but I winced and lamented just to get her attention.
"I broke a bone!" I proclaimed, and she suddenly rubbed her forehead.
Her doleful eyes fell on me and I swallowed hard. It felt as though my soul left me.
"What are you still waiting for? Walk me to the dining room!" I command with a devilish smile.
She'd pay for this humiliation.
