AMELIA
My eyes stared back at the crowd in shock; I was too embarrassed to move, my brain lagging behind to process what was happening. A roaring laugh echoed in the hall, they were all laughing at me. My eyes met Dylan's. He was too stunned to react.
"Amelia, you should fix your dress." The principal said with a soft tone, reality finally hit me. My hands rushed to cover my bosoms and I ran away from the stares and laugh of mockery. As I ran past Valerie I heard her snicker. "Your fat ass ruined a perfect dress."
That was enough; I could not bear it. I didn't know where I was heading but I needed to leave. Tears continued running down my eyes, my sobs were caught in my throat. My heart tightened, making it difficult to breathe. I was fat so running and crying was too much stress on my heart.
Valerie did this, what did I ever do to deserve such hatred? I never came in her way and always did my best to avoid her but she always finds a way to make my life a living hell. I wonder what Dylan thought. At that moment, the entire school had a good glimpse of my fat bosoms. At this rate, my life was over.
I ran through one of the external doors that led to a garden. Finally, my legs gave up strength as I ran out through the door, tripping myself.
I closed my eyes waiting for my face to crash against the stone floor. suddenly someone grabbed my hand, yanking me backwards. Due to the force, I ended up stumbling and falling on my saviour who served as a cushion
"My head hurts," he groaned.
"Dylan," I gasped in disbelief, quickly getting off him. I was stunned to realize he came after me and even saved me from falling. "Sorry about that," I blurted, giving him a hand to get up, then quickly covered up my exposed plum bosoms with my hands, but they barely covered them.
Dylan dusted off the dirt from his clothes. Then he glanced at me; there was this indescribable look in his eyes. "I should be the one apologizing. I froze out there and didn't do anything when everyone was laughing at you." There was guilt filled in his words that touched me. I was glad he cared.
"It's not your fault. I think Valerie stepped on my dress and now the entire school had seen my ugly melons." I laughed it off, trying to get over the fact. A frown etched between his brows displeased with something, he sighed pulling off his tuxedo then he draped it over me.
"They are not ugly, Amelia; they are beautiful and perfect. Those flat-chest girls were just jealous. They didn't deserve to see it. " He said in a serious tone while buttoning up the tux on me. I love this side of Dylan that was protective.
His tender actions touched my heart, I didn't even know that I was crying once more. "Those are very sweet words," I muttered.
"You deserve the sweetest words and enough of the tears. Today is your first prom. Only smiles are allowed." His hands reached out for my face to wipe up my tears. My gaze didn't leave him for once, my heartbeat slowed, and I wanted this moment to last forever.
After he was done, he pulled my hands, walking in an unknown direction. "Where are we going?" I asked him as I followed behind. Dylan glanced at me with a smile. "Let's get an ice cream so that your frown will turn into a smile." He declared. I didn't need the ice cream because my cheeks were already burning red. I bowed my head to hide my smile.
There was a nearby park to the hotel where we could still get ice cream this late. Dylan knew my favourite flavour. "Two cones with one scoop of vanilla and strawberry with some sprinkles please." He ordered. I held his hand standing behind him with a cheesy smile on my face. My stomach was fluttering and my head was already coming up with silly thoughts about how we looked like a real couple.
"Here's your ice cream." The truck man said giving them to us. "Thank you," Dylan said after paying for the ice. We started walking through the empty park while licking ice cream. The flavours of vanilla and strawberry melting in my mouth made me hum in delight. It was truly delicious.
The sky was dark and adorned with bright twinkling stars as the wind blew lightly carrying the scent of wet grass. It was a bit cold but still perfect. Dylan's warm hand holding my hand made it seem more romantic. It felt like an actual date.
In the middle of the park, there was a beautiful Lake that was a popular romantic spot. Dylan walked me over there, and I got more nervous, wondering if he had something special to tell me. We weren't the only ones by the lake, but luckily, he found an empty bench under a street lamp. We sat on the bench and started, admiring, and gazing at the stars from the lake's surface.
It was truly mesmerizing, "Dylan, I am..."
Before I could finish my statement he cut me off. "I am really sorry about Valerie. It's a shame she ruined such a perfect dress." He apologized again, I didn't understand why he was super sensitive about Valerie.
"I can always get another dress," I answered, glancing at my hand covered by his warm hand. "I can't wait to see you in it." Dylan chimed, smiling sweetly at me. My heart skipped a beat.
I shyly averted my eyes, tucking my hair behind my ears. "You will have to wait a bit because I don't have any party coming up soon."
"The wait will be pleasurable; by the way, I was wondering if you will be free to join my family for the summer vacation. It won't be a big issue since your dad works with mine." Dylan suddenly invited me over, making me snap my head in his direction. I was speechless and lost in words.
It was too good to be true, Dylan panicked thinking I was going to reject. "Please don't reject straight away. Think about it. The trip will be fun and I really want to make up for today." He quickly added. I was still speechless, unable to believe it, and it caused further confusion.
"Come on, Amelia, just agree, and on the plus side, I have a surprise for you that will be revealed during the break." He urges me. My eyes went wide, surprised by his words.
"A surprise, what is it?" I could not help but ask. Successfully taking the bat, Dylan grinned then leaned forward, basking me in his warm mint breath that had a hint of alcohol. "It won't be a surprise if I tell you. All I can say is that it is something very important I wanted to tell you for a long while now."
*****
I was double-checking my luggage to check everything was there. Yes, I ended up saying yes. There was no way I would turn down Dylan after he said he had an important confession to make. Just the thought of it made me feel giddy with excitement.
I made sure to take a lot of sexy outfits and dresses. He said he couldn't wait for me to dress up again. Well, he got lucky because I would be on fire throughout this summer break.
What if Dylan also loved me and this was an excuse to romantically confess? The thought of it made me blush so hard that my cheeks felt heated up. "I think we have everything." My personal maid Deborah said as she helped me pack up everything.
"What do you think Dylan wants to tell me?" I asked Deborah as I watched her zip up my luggage. Deborah had been working at my house forever. She was also basically my nanny, and we were super close.
Deborah smiled at me, "I think Dylan wants to confess his love. A vacation together is the perfect get-together." Deborah's words made me more excited about it. This could not be real. The thought of Dylan having the same feelings as I did was a dream I didn't even dare dream of.
"I am not sure about that. I don't want to get my hopes high only for it to come crashing down." I pouted as the possibility of it being something else popped into my head. My excitement quickly dulled.
"That's a slim chance. This reminded me of the time my boyfriend officially asked me to be his girlfriend. He took a weekend trip to a spring resort, it was magical." The dreamy look in Deborah's eyes as she reminisced a distant memory made me wonder if Dylan's confession would be something also super romantic.
Deborah and I made sure everything was in place before I got the driver to take me to Dylan's place. The entire ride I could not hold in my excitement. This would be the best summer holiday ever.
I tried calling Dylan a couple of times but he seemed busy and texted me back saying he was waiting at home..
A few hours later, the car drove through Thane estate gates. After a short drive, we arrived at the manor. "We have arrived, young mistress." The driver informed me; my eyes moved away from my phone screen to glance at the familiar Thane Manor.
Scanning the environment, a small frown graced my lips that fell when I spotted a particular pink SUV I would never mistake with the plate number ' Queen of Pink .' Without a doubt, I knew it was Valerie's car. What was she doing at Dylan's place? This gave me a very bad feeling.
