Chapter 3 The Young Professor

Derek's POV.

I muttered the words "Lunar Crest Academy" as I walked through the gate, my eyes darting to my phone to check the time. With a weary sigh, I continued inside and approached the receptionist, who was blushing profusely.

"Where is the principal's office?" I asked sternly.

She pointed down the hall, her eyes raking over my body in a way that made me raise an eyebrow. I could have sworn she licked her lips, and I chuckled to myself - this was a reaction I was used to getting from women. I nodded, adjusting my sunglasses as I walked towards the principal's office.

I knocked on the door, and a harsh voice replied, "Who's there?"

"Derek Danvers," I said, letting out a low whistle.

The door burst open abruptly, and a man apologized profusely, "I'm so sorry, sir! I'm so sorry! I.. I did not know you were the one." I could hear gasps from the others in the room.

I raised my head, and my gaze met a man and a woman, but I ignored them, focusing on the man in front of me. "It's fine, Mr...?" I paused, not knowing his name.

"Mr. Owen," he replied, his eyes tinged with fear.

"You are the principal right?" I asked, my voice tinged with curiosity.

"Yes, I'm the principal."

I nodded, taking a seat opposite him, crossing my legs. My gaze shifted to the two strangers, their mouths still wide open in shock.

"We prepared your documents; all you need to do is sign and indicate which class you'd like to teach," Mr. Owen explained, handing me a contract. I nodded, taking the contract from him. "Sir, we've also arranged your apartment," the principal added.

I let out a weary sigh, closing the contract. "Can you keep quiet for a minute? Let me read this," I said, slightly irritated.

The man apologized, "Sorry, sir," and I rolled my eyes, focusing on the contract in front of me.

I wasn't even interested in this charade, but I dropped the contract and signed it anyway. "I'll resume tomorrow," I said, my tone detached.

Mr. Owen nodded, "Thank you." As I stood up, he added, "My regards to Sir Richard."

My eyes blazed with fury as I turned to him. "When you see him, you greet him yourself," I spat through gritted teeth.

The man apologized again, "I'm so sorry, sir," but I just raised my hands in exasperation.

Richard was my elder brother, and I resented how no one could mention my name without bringing him up, as if he was some kind of lord. He always overshadowed me, and I seethed with resentment.

As I walked away, I overheard one of them whisper, "Sir, who's that?"

"He's the youngest son of the Alpha of the Moonlit Howlers pack," the principal replied, his voice full of reverence.

"Oh my," the first one exclaimed, and I shook my head, a hint of a smile playing on my lips. We are the strongest pack on the continent; no one dares cross paths with us, and wherever we go, we command respect. I walked out of the building, waving at the receptionist, who giggled and blushed. I chuckled and continued to my car.

I slammed the door behind me, and my phone beeped. I pulled it out, and my anger surged when I saw the video of Richard showing off his new bodyguard squad on social media. I gritted my teeth, feeling a familiar resentment simmering inside me.

I had asked my father for a bodyguard squad, but he told me to prove myself worthy first. That's why I was stuck in this damn school. And yet, here he was, giving it to Richard without hesitation! It was like he was constantly rubbing it in my face that I was the illegitimate son, the lesser son.

Why did Richard always get everything handed to him on a silver platter while I had to fight for every scrap of recognition?

I felt like lashing out, my muscles tensed as I started my car and sped off. "If only my mother did not have an affair with him... if only!" I muttered to myself, the anger and frustration simmering inside me.

I pulled into a nearby bar and slammed the door behind me, taking a seat at the counter. "Two bottles of vodka," I growled, and the bartender nodded, quickly serving me.

I had only taken one shot when someone wrapped their arms around me from behind. I instinctively placed my hands on their wrists and pulled them away, turning to face the person.

To my surprise, it was a young, beautiful woman. I let out a low hiss, my eyes narrowing. I wasn't attracted to ladies, let alone this drunk lady who was now swaying unsteadily in front of me.

My mind raced with thoughts of my mother's infidelity and my brother's privileged life, fueling my resentment towards the opposite sex. I didn't need this right now. I just wanted to be left alone to drown my sorrows in peace.

"Why are you so handsome?" she slurred, trying to touch my face, and I flinched, recoiling from her grasp.

"Can you get away from me?" I yelled, trying to shake her off, but to my surprise, she wrapped her arms around me in a tight hug. I struggled to break free, but she held on for what felt like an eternity. Finally, I managed to pry her hands off me.

"Tell me, who are you with?" I demanded, scanning the bar, and my gaze met hers in an instant. Before I could react, she leaned in and kissed me, her lips pressing against mine in a sloppy, drunken gesture.

I pushed her away, trying to extricate myself from the situation, but she just giggled and leaned in for another kiss.

"You're drunk," I said, trying to stand up, but she pinned me down, her arms wrapping around me like a vice.

"I want you," she whispered, slamming her lips against mine, and I kissed her back, my anger and frustration momentarily forgotten. My body responded, my cock rising to the occasion. Maybe this was a better way to lash out, to distract myself from the rage and resentment simmering inside me.

"Let's do this upstairs," I said, my voice low and husky, and she nodded eagerly, wrapping her legs around my waist.

I held her tight, our lips still locked in a passionate kiss, as I lifted her up and carried her towards the stairs.

*********My alarm blared, jolting me awake with a groan. I opened my eyes, reaching for the clock to turn it off, but my gaze landed on the time and my eyes widened in shock.

"Fuck!" I leapt out of bed, cursing under my breath - I was late for my first class!
