Happy endings are considered a privilege of fairy tales, where princesses are rescued by brave princes, taking them away from misery and into castles adorned with happiness. An illusion distant from reality.

However, as I put the finishing touches on the baker decorating my wedding cake, I feel like my life is about to transform into a dreamy tale. The delicate pink hue of the frosting makes me sigh, giving an air of magic to this moment. I feel very happy; The hour of my fantasy is about to begin.

"It's beautiful, isn't it, Evangeline?" I ask my younger sister. The poor little girl, only nineteen years old, has already brought my little niece Susan into the world, the light of my life. They are my reasons for dreaming of a better future.

I look at my sister and gently stroke the head of the little girl who sleeps in her arms.

"You don't have to know. That witch and Stephanie just want us to leave their house, and that will happen soon."

"Oh, Ariadna, I hope Christian is a good husband and that he really helps you. You're a wonderful woman, you work too hard, like you need to prove something. Sometimes I feel like he blows you up."

I sigh at my sister's words. Christian isn't just my boss; It's a hope in my life. I work as an administrator in his prestigious restaurant, where he, a renowned chef, is the soul of the place. I stay in the kitchen for up to fourteen hours, not only out of necessity, but also to make sure my sister is well taken care of, and my niece has a future. My fiancé helps me by giving me that job, besides, I am happy because I am always by his side.

"Christian will be a good husband," I tell Evangeline, though she's not entirely convinced. Sometimes he has a bad temper, but we've been together since I was your age. Almost five years have passed, and I haven't even given myself to it.

I promised myself that I would save my virginity for my wedding day. Despite Christian's pleas, his fiery kisses and tickles that made me feel alive, I haven't crossed that line. "Evangeline, I need to go to work. Christian must be waiting for me, they're almost opening the restaurant," I say as I hand her a few dollars for the taxi. "Go home, buy milk and diapers for Susan first. And don't let Mary beat you, okay? "

Evangeline rolls her eyes and hugs little Susan.

"I don't want to go back to that damn house. Dad is drunk all the time, and Maria is a nightmare. She always wants to hurt me. Ariadna, please take the day and come back with me. I beg you."

Evangeline's eyes fill with tears, and my heart breaks into a thousand pieces.

"Be patient, Evangeline, please. In a few days we will go to Christian's house. I have already spoken with him; There is enough room for all three. I promise you that we will do everything we can to be okay. When is Susan's appointment?"

"Tomorrow morning. I already have the results of her exams. Ariadna, I feel bad about you. You don't have to work so hard to give us money; It's my fault. I'll find a kinder garden for Susan and a job."

Evangeline's voice sounds breathy. Even though she made a mistake on a night of drinking, I won't condemn her for being alone with her little girl, especially now that she's a little sick.

"Listen to me, Evangeline, that's not going to happen. Worry about our little girl first, okay? The rest we will see. "Evangeline took the taxi, and I walked to the restaurant, I was excited to see Christian."

When I arrived at the restaurant, I noticed that the fence was down. I look at my watch, I guess the workers haven't arrived yet. I open the front door silently and begin to walk around the dark room. It seems like there's no one, which I find odd, since Christian is always the first to arrive. He was passionate about work and getting money; I admired him deeply and, above all, I loved him for being the man he was. How fortunate to be his fiancée!

"Chris? Honey, are you there yet?" I ask into the air, walking slowly. I noticed that the door of his office was ajar, and a light was coming out of it, I felt a pang of uneasiness. I don't make noise; My sixth sense was activated, and I knew immediately that something was happening. My heart is pounding, and my hands are sweating.

Strange sounds emerge from the administration office: thunderous moans and taps, like skin bumps. A female voice, which I already know, is intertwined with the sounds. My chest flutters, and I take a breath gently, one... two... three... I have suffered from asthma since I was a child, and any emotion throws my breathing out of control.

As I get closer, the image that is shaped before my eyes destroys the fairy tale that I harbored in my heart. My dear fiancé, my Christian, is under the turned body of my beautiful sister Stephanie. She jumps on him frantically, while her mouth, that mouth that the day before had devoured me with kisses, greedily sucks my sister's breasts.

My world is crumbling under my feet. All my dreams vanish before my eyes, and tears begin to fall uncontrollably. The scene is too devastating; I can't even mumble a word. He doesn't notice my presence, but my sister's dog does.

My life was a complete farce, now, not only was I without a fiancé, but also without a job, I run out of the restaurant, take off my engagement ring and throw it to hell, I start walking aimlessly, avoiding crying over Christian's betrayal.

I don't know how long I've been walking the sidewalks, I can only feel how my sore feet force me to enter a place to take a break, to my surprise, it's a bar.

I sit alone at the bar and start ordering beers, without worrying about the price, for anything. I only drink to forget his memory. A couple of hours later, feeling slight dizziness in my head, I got up from the bar and wanted to pay the bill.

"What... "What do I have to pay you?" I ask the waiter while I look for a couple of bills in my pocket.

"It's 400," he replies, handing me a bill.

"What? What do you mean 400? I look everywhere. You must be wrong."

"No, I'm not," the man says seriously. I sat down again on the stool and the little drunkenness I had vanished suddenly from the fright. Shit, how am I going to pay for this?

I searched my pockets for money to pay the bill, but there's nothing, not a single coin. I drink whole. Suddenly, an intoxicating perfume sneaks into my nostrils, causing me to lift my head. Then, my eyes met him.

I look at him nervously. Possibly he is the owner of the place and comes to claim what I have drunk. Shit!

Her eyes are clear, like the color of fire, her skin golden, and her hair perfectly combed, I feel my cheeks blush and I can't even whisper a word.

"I'll pay the bill," The mysterious man takes out a card and places it on the bar, the waiter simply arches his eyebrows and makes the payment. I look everywhere, and sure enough, he's talking to me.
