Chapter 5 05.

His right hand pulled her even closer like she was about to slip away again, the other hand shut the door behind them. His tongue marking each and every corner of her mouth.

"God no! Kira stop!" - she yelled at herself but her body disobeyed her.

Unconsciously, her hands wrapped slowly around his neck as her back hit the wall, Mason burned with desire. His left hand finding it's way to her thigh, and his lips leaving hers for her neck. Kira moaned out loud. Her eyes widening at how fast he was moving. She knew this was wrong on her part. She shut her eyes and with every resistance left in her, she pushed him off.

His eyes opened slowly, staring into hers.

Kira cleared her throat. "You... You shouldn't s..starve yourself. I'm not worth it...."she mumbled avoiding his gaze.

"You're everything to me Lana", Mason cooed and she felt that lump in her throat.

His kiss, his touch, the desire that burned through him, she could feel it, yet she wasn't the reason he felt that way.

Her first time with Harry.

She remembered it. She'd thought it was beautiful, but with this few seconds, she'd felt real passion.

"I guess I was just some free fuck for Harry" - she loathed herself.

"Lana....", Mason called out to her and she looked up. He took a step and this time, she didn't back away. He took her hands in his. "Thank you".

Her eyes moistened.

She felt the sincerity in his voice. She loathed herself even more. The number of times Harry had told her he loved her.

The number of times he lied about loving her, and the number of times she believed he was being sincere.

Was she really so desperate?

So desperate to feel loved and wanted that she fell for Harry!?

"I'm glad to have you back", he kissed her forehead and she melted underneath his figure. She'd watch little kids and their fathers at the park, watched how they'd received head kisses. Not even her mom gave her that. Not even Harry. So this is what it feels like.

He pulled her into a hug, his eyes shut close as he dwelled on the warmth she brought.

He was really glad to have her back.

After she'd left yesterday, he locked himself up, wondering where he'd gone wrong with her. The look in her eyes were different. It showed not an atom of love. Did he really offend her? He'd thought of many scenarios.

When he broke the hug, they smiled at each other, Kira sniffed, "let's go eat. Lydia has been so worried", she voiced and he nodded. She turned to leave but he drew her back into a kiss.

Wasn't as passionate as the first, lingered for five seconds and he broke off, smiling brightly than ever, her heart skipped a beat. "I really didn't get enough", he grinned like a child, "I want to make up for the past two weeks".

He walked ahead of her and stretched out to her to take his hands, but Kira swallowed, "Mason"

"Hmmm?"

"Let's... let's start afresh", she smiled, "let tonight be our first day. No walk down the memory lane. Just two souls deciding to love each other, starting today".

His brows twitched in confusion

They'd had so much together in the past. Why did she want to forget it?

"Six months, only on my terms", Kira smiled, "no questions asked. Let's.... Let's create new and lasting memories".

Mason had felt like he'd gotten another chance to live, and he wouldn't miss it or give it up for anything. He nodded in agreement, "sure", he smiled, giving way for her to leave first.

Kira walked ahead till she felt him grab her hand and intertwine it in his. "Our first memory", he gestured to their intertwined hands, "this too", he kissed her lips again. She pursed her lips as she stared up at him. Mason winked and led the way.

"Woah! That was quick. Woah! You're really a lover boy", Kieran joked and Lydia couldn't help but smile at the couple. Mason smiled wildly but Kira had her head bowed.

"I was really worried", Lydia voiced and Mason apologized in a mumble.

"Fine!", Lydia clasped her hands, "come on, let's go make something", she snapped her fingers at Kira but Mason held her closer.

"She's not leaving my side".

Kieran scoffed, feigning hurt, "I thought I was everything to you".

"Eww", Mason hissed and they all laughed.

Kira bit her lips. She hadn't been in such positive atmosphere in a long time. Or maybe she hasn't at all. She felt too guilty to even smile. She felt like a fraud, a thief.

She grabbed Mason's hand and released it from hers, "I'll cook with her. I'm still a maid here after all". She left before he would stop her.

Kieran's eyes followed her, "she'd do just fine" - he reassured himself and turned to his friend, "welcome back to life my friend".

Mason rolled his eyes at him and he laughed.

"We should really get back to work. Mr. Edward called in". Kieran voiced with a smirk.

"For real?" Mason gasped and Kieran nodded proudly. They both left to Mason's home office.

****

Kira was done helping Lydia. They served the both men and even when Mason had pleaded with her to eat with him, she meekly declined with a smile.

Lydia showed her her room and she walked in, making sure to lock the door behind her.

It was so spacious, her little apartment was nothing compared to this. She walked to the window and looked out over the compound, she drew in a long breathe.

She'd just think of this as a break. A break from a tough life. Or maybe a summer job, yeah! A summer part-time job, there's nothing to be guilty about.

She walked over to the closet and placed her stuff, Lana had left quite some stuffs behind as well. She was done and had headed in for a shower, even the feel of the water running down her body reminded her she was far from home, in a land she knew no one.

Now she'd thought about it. She laughed at herself. How did she agree to this??? To people who had kidnapped her? She might as well be butchered tonight and have her parts sold.

How well Kieran had gained her trust, a man who could even be lying about his name. Wow!

She wrapped her body in a towel and stepped out, changing into a simpler white flayed gown. She sat before her dresser and was drying her hair when the knock on the door broke her thoughts.

She paused for a second, the butterflies suddenly tingled in her stomach at the thought of Mason. The knock came again and she walked up, trying so hard to hide the smile that battled with her lips. She opened the door.

"Hey", Kieran smiled and walked in. The butterflies vanished. Kira turned on her feet and watched him dart his eyes around the room.

"It's much bigger than your apartment", he snickered and she rolled her eyes. How could he be friends with Mason? Tsk!

Kieran smiled and turned to face her. He walked up to her and bent to her face level, "thank you".

Kira pursed her lips, she had nothing to say to him, but he took a step closer, "Mason might be in love, but not stupid. Reach out to me when you have any questions. I know him more than you do Kira. After all, we're in this together....."

"In what together?" Mason's face popped up at the door, Kira froze.
