Chapter 5 Rejected (2)

VESPERA.

The golden-haired guy bent and kissed the lady on her lips, which she reciprocated while the red-haired guy pecked her on the cheeks.

Both their arms were wrapped around her waist as she basked for their attention.

I just stood there quietly, my lips trembling, trying to form words that couldn't come out as a wave of jealousy ran through me.

I was totally ignored by another woman. It was just like I didn't exist. I turned away, trying to hide the tears gathering in the corner of my eyes.

Madam Garcia must have noticed my behavior, for she let out a low cough, distracting everyone, and the unknown lady took the perfect moment to throw me a glance.

"Who is she?" She pointed at me while looking at both the Lycan twins at almost the same time.

The red-haired guy looked at me, boredom obvious in his orbs, while his twin glared at me before muttering with distaste.

"No one important". Those words shattered me and I bit my low lips, clenching my fists together.

I caught her, the lady privileged to have their love as she hid a grin before smoldering herself into them.

"Let's go enjoy the festival then. "We have so much to do," she told them as she turned to place her hands on the red-haired guy's chest, tracing her finger on him.

I felt flames burning in me and knew this was Dawn's doing because I suddenly wanted to scratch out her eyes.

"Another bitch!" Dawn yelled in my head, obviously furious, but I shut her down, watching as the unknown lady left with my mates while I stood there, unable to do anything.

A tear finally dropped, and I bent my head downwards.

"Are you okay lass?" I heard Madam Garcia ask, and I shook my head sideways, finally dropping my guard down and just letting the tears flow. I felt her arm on my back, as she patted me.

"Shush, what is it?". She questioned and I told her everything.

"They are my mates". Her expression turned from calm to stunned in an instant as she muttered.

"It can't be the Lycan twins?" She called out in disbelief and I nodded, tears still dripping out of my eyes.

Madam Garcia excused the maids, who had a puzzled expression and couldn't hear our conversations.

Once they left, she turned to throw me a pitiful glance, before whispering.

"I am so sorry". Hearing her feel pity for me just made me cry more. I trembled, feeling pained beyond words. It was like I had been punched in the guts. I was unable to breathe.

I glanced around, and my eyes caught them. They were giggling and having fun. She was even touching them as much as she could, snuggling herself in between them.

Madam Garcia noticed my gaze on them and patted me more.

"Who is she?" I inquired, wanting to know about the female who was snatching my mates from me. I was suddenly feeling so possessive.

"Lily Phoenix, the Lycan twins betrothed," Madam Garcia revealed, and the wine goblet, which I had just taken from one of the servants scurrying around, fell from my hand and dropped to the floor with a bang loud enough to attract attention from some people, but not everyone.

Madam Garcia tried to hold me, but I took a step back like I was trying to hide from the pain. I wasn't stable, my legs were trembling.

"My dear, I ...." Madam Garcia tried explaining when I cut her off abruptly, not caring if I was being rude.

"Please, I would love to be alone". She looked at me for a while before nodding and turning to disappear into the crowd, leaving me all alone. The hall began to feel too stuffy, so I made my way out of it.

Not stopping till I was outside, in the open ground where I could get fresh air. I collapsed against the wall, feeling breathless and weak. Madam Garcia's words still echo in my ears.

'My mates were getting married to someone who wasn't me?' I thought in disbelief, wondering if anything in this life was ever going to go well for me.

I had always dreamed and hoped to find my mate, and I did, but they didn't want me, and neither did they bother to hide it.

I was supposed to watch and endure as another woman basked in their care and touched them anyhow.

The dress on me soon grew hot, and I started to sweat, just wanting to get back into my room and get it off, but then my nemesis chose the perfect time to arrive and make things worse.

"Well, well, well, if it wasn't my soon-to-be whore of a sister". She commented and I turned around to face her. As usual, the evil smirk was carved on her face.

"What do you want Celestia?" I probed weakly, not having time for her quirky comments about me. Her smirk dropped, replaced with an amused expression.

"You now talk back at me?" She questioned, moving closer to me, her eyes dark and scary. I could sense danger in her, so I moved backwards as she stalked closer.

Before I could take another step, she moved so fast, grabbed me by my hair, and slammed my head into the nearest wall. I yelped, feeling dizzy and dropping to the floor.

My scream must have alerted the guards nearby, for they dashed over, their footsteps sounding as they approached.

Celestia's eyes widened in alarm, before she ran away, leaving me all alone on the floor, weak and bleeding.

My vision grew blurry and the last thing I saw was a guard making his way towards me. I woke up with a start, alerting Madam Garcia, who ran to my side immediately.

"Are you alright? "What happened?" The guards found you passed out on the floor, bleeding from your head?" She asked a lot of questions, and I was about to reply when a maid dashed in with a message.

"The Lycan twins are ready for you, Milady."
