"Brother Derek, Arianna is so vicious. You have to be careful. If she can pull off a marriage scam, who knows what other tricks she has up her sleeve."
The sweet, coquettish voice made Arianna's skin crawl.
After listening for a while, Arianna didn't hear Derek respond.
"Brother Derek, look at this pink leather purse. Doesn't it suit me perfectly?"
A purse? Arainna bit her lips. Brenda must be trying to get Derek to buy it for her.
Arianna casually placed her water glass on the nearby glass table, knocked on the door, and walked in.
Inside, Derek was sitting at his desk, engrossed in a document, while Wendy was indeed holding a fashion magazine as expected.
Wendy turned her head and, upon seeing Arianna, instantly changed her expression. "Who let you in here, you ugly woman? Get out!"
Derek also looked up, his sharp eyes coldly assessing Arianna.
This woman was truly audacious. She had schemed against his marriage and now had the nerve to barge into his study.
Derek's voice was firm and commanding, "Get out."He had no reason to be polite to a woman as notorious as her.
Arianna acted as if she hadn't heard him. She glanced around and continued walking forward.
"Sorry, I was feeling a bit thirsty and thought this was the kitchen."
"Are you blind? This is brother Derek's study, not a kitchen," Wendy spoke harshly.
Arianna turned around and squeezed herself between Derek and Wendy. Derek instantly caught a whiff of a pleasant fragrance.
Despite being labeled as unattractive, Arianna's scent was surprisingly fresh, much more pleasant than the overpowering designer perfume Wendy wore.
"You bumped into me, you ugly woman," Wendy snapped. Arianna crossed her arms over her chest and gave Wendy a once-over.
"Uhh... you're still too green. If you want a man to pounce on you in the middle of the night, you need to know, the skirt should be this short."
Arianna traced a line along her inner thigh.
"Just imagine, with black stockings on those legs and a bit of a push-up for the chest, every man in the world would be on fire the moment they see you, pouncing like hungry wolves. Honey, you're a man, am I right?"
Arianna blinked her big eyes, looking unusually innocent.
Derek was speechless. Was this woman courting death? Did she think he was one of those hungry wolves too?
Wendy blushed, pointing a slender finger at Arianna and stomping her foot.
"You're talking nonsense! brother Derek, she's gone too far."
Arianna reached over and grabbed the magazine from Wendy's hand, flipping through it quickly.
"Honey, are you buying a bag for Miss Wendy here? Well it just happened to be the perfect timing, I like this brand too. I want this Sakura pink crocodile leather bag. Honey, you're so rich, buy it for me too."
She tossed the magazine onto the table and took a few steps toward the door before turning back with a charming smile at the stunned pair.
"Oh, and just to clarify, don't get it wrong. I want the Sakura pink crocodile leather bag, priced at thirty thousand dollars. Miss Wendy's purple bag is fifteen thousand. Otherwise, if Miss Wendy and I show up at the same event with bags of the same quality, it would be quite embarrassing for your Young Madam Gregory."
Arianna quickly spoke and took advantage of the momentary shock between the two to walk out.
Even though she had no feelings for Derek, as long as she was part of the Gregory Family, she needed to establish her authority as the Young Mistress of the family.
Otherwise, in the deep waters of high society, she would be mercilessly bullied.
As Arianna's graceful figure disappeared from the study's doorway, Wendy felt a clawing sensation in her chest.
That useless Arianna, was she trying to give her a warning?
What was even more terrifying was that she noticed Derek staring at the door where Arianna had just left, frowning, lost in thought.
Wendy clenched her palms and softened her tone.
"Brother Derek, that woman is really ill-mannered. She just married in and already wants you to spend money on her. She's nothing but a gold digger."
A gold digger? Isn't that describing yourself?
"It's late. You should go home."
Derek glanced at her and turned a page in his document.
Wendy's face instantly turned a shade paler. The look Derek had just given her was so cold. She glanced at the night outside.
"Can you take me home? It's too dark, and I'm scared," Wendy asked, her voice trembling slightly.
Derek didn't even look up from his work. "I have to finish some business. Let Uncle Kramer take you home."
A wave of frustration surged through Wendy's chest, but she couldn't show it in front of Derek.
Over the years, Derek had been kind to her because of what happened five years ago, but it was always in a brotherly way.
But Wendy wasn't one to give up easily. She believed that only she deserved the position of Mrs. Gregory in the Gregory Family.
"Alright, I'm leaving then. Don't work too late," she said, forcing a smile.
