Chapter 5 My saviors

CHAPTER 5

♠ Lieutenant A POV ♠

My entire body is shivering, my head was heavy my eyes were blurry due to me crying unstoppably, I couldn't look back, afraid that they are following me, my legs are about to give up and I feel like am about to collapse but one thing is for sure, if I want to live I have to keep running, I was barefoot and it was snowing, everywhere was my entire body feels like it's ice, even though I was wearing a coat.

As I remembered what happened and the scene that was in front of me, I couldn't stop my self from crying harder, and this time, I let my voice fill the quiet place, I was crying hard and shouting, but my voice doesn't even feel like mine.

My voice was husky , even I couldn't hear it well, talk less of others, so I just stopped trying to shout and let my tears flow freely, with every step I take I could feel shivers throughout my body, my leg doesn't even feel like it's in my body, it feels heavy, but I couldn't stop, I kept on running and everytime I feel like am about to collapse I will try as much as I can to increase my speed.

It shouldn't be snowing but since it is, I guess am in Winterhold, Winterhold is a cold northern region of Eldoria characterized by snow and ice, even when is spring or summer, it is always snowing in Winterhold, so people only come here to fun, unlike the other regions of eldoria, nobody leaves here, the thought of that made me cry even more, knowing that I won't be able to find help soon and my body is about to give up.

As far as I can remember since I Ran from Ravenwood I ran across a region full of mountains, so that must be Silverpeak, Silverpeak is a region in eldoria known for it's mountains and mineral resources, and people also don't stay there because A lot of earthquakes happen there.

My head was becoming heavier but I was trying as much as I can to remember the map of eldoria, I think I saw it once or Twice in the military camp, but I never really paid much attention to it, I mean me and my team were never involved in such matters so why will I care about it.

But I know regret why I didn't pay attention to it, I kept on trying to remember as I tried to increase my speed, but suddenly my legs gave out, and u collapse, my head hitting the cold snow, I started feeling dizzy as I struggled to sat up

I shook my head countless times trying to see things clearly, I took my hands and wiped my eyes and I flinched due to how cold my palms were, can a person even survive this type of cold, I wonder how am still alive.

My vision was starting to clear up, so I started looking around, and for the first time after three days and three nights of running I finally looked back, I let a huge sigh of relief when I saw nobody was following me, I then turned and started looking around, I guessed it right, am in Winterhold, I hit my head trying to remember the map, if I remember correctly After I leave Winterhold I will arrive at Emerald vale, and people leave there.

Emerald vale is a region of Eldoria known for its Lush fertile valley and famous for it's agriculture, my body was freezing and I was so tasty, I took the bottle of water that was hanging on my waist and opened it, but it was empty, I sighed angrily before I threw away the bottle.

The water would have lasted for seven days but I spilled more than half of it, I was running and I couldn't stop so I would just take the water and place it on my mouth, and at that I spilled more than half it, am hungry , but it's know that I realized that after Three days of running my energy should I ran out since, but I guessed I was just so determined to survive.

I tried my best and stood on my feet and that's when I saw the blood on my legs, sighed heavily before I look at my legs again, there are frozen, even the blood on it it's frozen, I don't think I can run anymore cause I don't feel my legs, I went back and sat down slowly before I started tearing my coat, and know my hands where fully revealed cause I was now only wearing a shirt.

I wrapped the coat around my legs, my legs didn't feel any warmer but my hands are about to freeze and also stop working, I was about to just collapse and cry my heart out, when I heard a loud sound, it seemed like it was a growl of and animal.

And that's when I remembered Winterhold had werewolves and bears, my eyes widened before I sprinted off in a run, "I have to survive" was the only thing my brain kept repeating, I have to take revenge, I have too, tears started forming in my eyes again but I kept on shaking my head, if I am fast enough I will arrive in Emerald vale anytime soon.

This is all my fault, I shouldn't have challenged commander Cecily in the first place, then she wouldn't have called my name when the general asked for who was going to deliver the message, I am the reason why all of this happen.

And am the One who is still alive, I put my head down crying when I suddenly heard a voice "who is that" someone shouted, I immediately looked up and saw two old people, the woman was looking at me surprisingly while the man brought out a knife holding it up, he must probably thing, am some sort of Rebel, or an enemy.

I ran towards them "who are you" the man shouted as he held his sword tighter, I didn't care about the sword in hands all I know is that I need their help, when I was closely enough to them, I shouted "Help" and that was it, I collapsed, my vision was know black, but I don't know why I felt relieved as if am so sure the couple will really help me.

I slowly opened my eyes before I shut them close again, the room was too bright, my eyes had to adjust to the light, so I slowly opened it again until my eyes fully adjusted to the light, I sat up immediately the moment I saw I was in a room, I started looking around and realized I was lying on a bed, there was a small fireplace in the room and the room was decorated with craft baskets and other craft works.

I looked at my leg and I was wearing a socks and that's when I looked at my body, I was fully dressed in a heavy coat and a trouser, but I still felt like I was seated on ice, and that was when all that happened came rushing back, so the old people really helped me, I felt tears rushing into my eyes when suddenly the door opened, and the old woman worked in.

I immediately blinked by my tears, before I looked up at her, she had a smile on her face before she said "are you okay dear" I was scanning her up and down and she seemed to noticed it because she said "don't worry I won't harm you", I then looked up at her before she said "are you okay dear", I opened my mouth and said "I am, just a but cold" but my voice came out barely a whisper.

I thought she didn't heard me so I opened my mouth about to speak again "no need I heard you dear" she said with a smile, I nod in response before the door opened again this time startling me, but when the old man walked in with holding a tray, I left out a sigh of relief, and there seemed to noticed that "you must have been through A lot" the old man said slowly.

I looked up at him before everything came rushing back, the old woman handed me a piece of cloth before she said "don't cry dear we won't force you to tell us what happened" it was when she said that, that I realized I was tears were rolling down my eyes, I took the cloth before I said "thank you" again my voice barely a whisper, "we need to work on that voice of yours" the old man said making me to turn and look at him, and that's when he handed me a bowl of soup, from the smell, I knew it was chicken and ginger soup.

I couldn't say anything I just collected it slowly and gobbled it down in less than a minute, and that was when I realized how hungry I was, I brought the bowl down from my mouth and looked at the old people, they were both looking at me with wife eyes, and it sort of it's uncomfortable.

"you must be really hungry" the old man said breaking the silence, I looked at him before I nodded, he slowly stretched his hand and took the bowl from me, I flinched when his hands touched mine, and he seemed to noticed it, cause he just took the bowl and immediately retrieved back his hand.

He added more soup in the bowl before he gave it back to me, "have more then" he said while handling me the bowl of soup, I looked up at him before I gave him a weak smile, "thank you" I murmured, he smiled back at me before he replied "nevermind, just get well soon", I nodded in response before I gobbled down the bowl of soup.

I should at least eat slowly as a lady, but am too hungry to think about that, after I was done gobbling down the soup, the old woman handed me a cup of water, I collected it and whispered a little thank you before I drank it.

By now I was already full, I look up at the old people who by now I guessed are couples and said "thank you soo much, I don't know how to repay your kindness, but if you need anything feel free to say it, and I will do my best to do it for you" I concluded, and my voice sounded like mine again, I guess the soup really worked.

The old woman shook her head before she said "kindness doesn't need repayment my Dear, just focus on getting better" "I noticed you don't have any injuries in your body, just in your foot and probably is because you have been running too much and might have matched some harmful things, but I have already walked on the wounds, it will recover before you know it" she said with a smile.

I smiled at her before I said "thank you, I really appreciate this", "can we know your name dear?" the old man asked, and that was when I realized I didn't introduce myself, I cleared my throat before I said "my name is At..." I then realized I was about to say my full name, which is suppose to be a secret, I paused for a minute before I said "my name is A, am a lieutenant from the military camp of the palace".

The couples looked at each other before they looked back at me "did someone attack you dear" the old woman questioned, I shook my head, before I said "no I just got lost and couldn't find my team members, and that got me horrified" I concluded, I couldn't tell them the truth, that will get them worried and think having me here is not safe, I feel like am selfish right know, but I have to lie so that I can still have a roof on my head and something to eat till I recover.

They both nodded in understanding "well get some rest and you will back on your feet in no time, by then you can go back to the palace your team members must have probably went back" the old man said, I nodded before I questioned "for how long have I been asleep" "two days dear" the old woman replied.

The moment she said that I wasn't sleeping anymore, my eyes widened "two days" I said practically shouting, the couples laughed a little "yes" the old man replied shortly, "well o don't need sleep anymore, I will just seat near to the fire, am still feeling cold" I said "you should do just that, it will be good for your body" the old woman said.

I nodded in response before they turned about to leave, the old woman stopped in her tracks before she turned and said "Am Maria by name, and this here is my husband Nick, we have two children but one is married and staying in the kingdom, while the other one is a farmer staying in Ravenwood" she concluded.

The moment she said Ravenwood my heart sank, the scene immediately came back, the rivers that have completed turned red because of blood, the bodies, people shouting, children's cries, and all, I didn't know when tears started falling from my eyes, "are you okay dear" the old man questioned "is there anything wrong with what I said" the old woman questioned, I immediately shook my head, I was about to break and they can't see me like that if not they will be suspicious of me "no I just need some time alone" I said slowly.

The couple nodded in understanding before they both walked out of the room and closed the door behind them, immediately they closed door, I broke, I was crying so hard, I think even they can hear me, they just decided to give me the privacy I wanted, the memories of everything was still in my head, as if it just happened, "jake, sam, Jessie, kelvin" I muttered in between my cries, "is all my fault please forgive me"..........
