Chapter 4 Suspicion

Sarah's POV

"I smell like sex!" The message read.

Then my phone beeped again, it was him again.

"Let's fucking get done with this wedding. I'm hungry to eat you, I know you're too!" I read the second message and I giggled softly.

Lisa was in the bathroom, if not she would have asked why I was giggling and I'd have to show her how naughty Lycandar could be sometimes.

I thought of replying to Lycandar, but then there was a sudden knock on the door.

It must be the driver, he's supposed to be here anytime soon.

The knock was firm as and purposeful, so I couldn't wait for Lisa to come out of the bathroom to get the door

So I struggled with my wedding gown while I tried to stand up to go and attend to whosoever was at the door.

I muttered under my breath while I tried to adjust the fabric so I would be able to walk.

It's quite hard to walk in such a full gown when nobody is helping me hold them behind.

Just as I was about to get frustrated trying to pull the whole piece of the gown into my arm, Lisa stepped out of the bathroom.

She was using a towel to dry her hands, then she noticed me struggling with my gown and she offered to help.

"Wait, wait! You can't walk in that gown except I help you hold them behind. Chill, woman. I got this." Lucy said with a smirk, then she proceeded towards the door.

Her footsteps were soft against the hotel carpet while she walked.

She swings the door open, revealing a well dressed man in a sharp, well tailored suit.

His presence was just too formal so I thought he could be the driver who was supposed to come pick me.

The young man didn't waste time, he introduced himself in a professional tone.

"I'm the one taking the bride to the venue. The car is ready." he added.

"Umm, so why are you acting too stiff and calculated? Looks like you're reciting lines from a script rather than speaking naturally." Lisa teased the man, who still didn't flinch.

"Don't you smile young man?! Are you some kind of robot?! It's a big day for us, so you must be happy too!" Lisa added, jokingly pushing the man to at least smile.

Lisa turned to me, calling over her shoulder;

"Your ride's here, bride." Lisa announced with an enlarged smile playing on her lips.

I took a deep breath while pressing a hand on my bare chest to calm me down then I slowly stepped out.

Lisa followed behind me, carefully adjusting the long train of my gown so it wouldn't become a hindrance to me while I walked.

My heels clicked softly against the tiled floor-my gown swaying behind me with each step I took.

Last two years, exactly this time and day of this very month, Lisa was the one in the white gown and I was the one behind holding those tails behind.

The car was parked out front, a luxurious black Bentley continental GT, with tinted windows. It looks normal, but something about it feels too odd.

I knew Lycandar was a fan of luxurious and expensive things, he has a taste for rare things, so I'm not surprised he sent such a car over to pick me.

But this wasn't his driver, though I know a few of his drivers, since he has a lot.

And I've never seen this particular face before, but I soon brushed away the odd feelings, so I could focus on my own wedding.

I stepped into the car with Lisa's help, she helped me to gather the tails behind my gown.

But the moment Lisa was about to follow me into the car, the driver blocked her.

"Sorry, Miss. The ride is just for the bride." He said without flinching.

Lisa frowned, glancing at me confused.

"That's weird. Why can't I go? I'm her bridesmaid." Lisa explained to the driver but he didn't say a word, he only stayed still, fixed to the ground to block Lisa from entering the car.

"Wait, but she's my bridesmaids and I can't go without her by the way...!" I tried to explain but the driver cut me off mid sentence saying....

"Orders, Ma'am!" He shrugged, maintaining an expression-a professional one.

I was about to argue, but then Lisa sees the way I was looking anxious and ready to get mad at the driver so she said;

"Oh Sarah, you should get going...my husband just called, he'll pick me up in a minute now!" Lisa explained, trying hard to hide her disappointment.

"What?! No, you should come with me!" I insisted but Lisa said I shouldn't bother, and she'd join me in the venue immediately.

I sighed with an unsatisfied look.

Lisa helped me close the door and she waved at me while the car drove off.

I settled into the car, and I couldn't even tell if it was the interior of the car that looked hotter than the exterior.

Suddenly, I began to feel uncomfortable, something was wrong somewhere-but where?

The driver kept glancing at me through the rearview mirror, not just a quick stare-it was a slow assessing look.

He was assessing me.

While he drove, he adjusted the mirror multiple times to get a better glance of me.

Then he suddenly broke the silence;

"So, big day, huh?" he started, his voice still casual-and forced.

I hummed my response, not willing to say a word to him.

What he did to Lisa still angered me and I was prepared to get mad at Lycandar once we're done with the wedding.

"You look pretty!" He commented again.

But this time around, I didn't even hum, I kept mute, while I distractedly adjusted my veil. I didn't think much of his compliment-yet.

Then the question suddenly starts to get weird;

"Your fiance... he's a lucky one huh. Or, should I say, he's a busy man?!" He asked while he stared at me through the mirror, barely paying attention to the road.

"Can you just drive, please?! I'm not finding this interesting!" I complained then I rolled my eyes away.

"Oops, sorry my bad, I just thought you might want to know about the other women!" He added while still monitoring me through the mirror.

"What do you mean?" I suddenly stiffened but managed to keep my voice low.
