Chapter 4 Laura's Rage

The village square was tense,

filled with the murmurs of the villagers and the soldiers noise.

Laura held Kira's hand tightly, guiding him toward the growing crowd, Trying to evade the soldiers scattered everywhere in silver and blue Alliance armor.

They stood at attention as their banner fluttered ominously."

At their center, Ramzy, the leader of the recruitment program, talking with the village mayor.

Steven stood beside them, looking smug as he pointed toward Kira.

Draven stepped forward to intercept the situation, shielding Laura and Kira.

"Steven has recently discovered his powers. He's inexperienced, and his spell clearly malfunctioned during his play with the other children."

Ramzy ignored Draven and turned his sharp gaze to Kira.

"I'm Ramzy, leader of the recruitment program. We are here to help special children become brave, strong, and powerful.

Kira replied with excitement:

"Can I have superpowers too?"

With worry in her eyes, Laura gripped his hand firmly.

Ramzy glanced at her with a hint of suspicion before looking back at Kira and saying, "Of course, we can help you reach your maximum potential. Just follow our instructions carefully. Now, tell me, what's your name?"

Kira, unaware of the growing tension around him, answered innocently, "I'm Kira."

Ramzy knelt slightly, his tone calm but his words weighted. "Do you want to learn how to harness your powers and become someone great? I can teach you."

Kira's eyes lit up. "Yes! I want to fly like Steven!"

Ramzy chuckled softly. "How old are you, Kira?"

"I'm nine, but I'm smart! I can learn fast."

Ramzy straightened, his demeanor shifting as he glanced at Steven.

"Begin the testing," he commanded.

"The soldiers stepped forward and held a crystal orb above each Child head.

It glowed a soft blue over Steven, making his father cheer.

"A sorcerer," the soldier said, and Steven stood tall, proud of himself."

"Test him!" Steven barked, pointing at Kira.

Laura's grip tightened on her son's hand. Her heart raced as she pulled him closer, whispering, "Stay quiet."

The crystal was placed above Kira's head, but Laura felt relieved when it remained dark.

Draven said quickly, "As I told you before, Steven's magic was out of control. Kira doesn't have powers."

The soldier was about to move on when Ramzy raised a hand, his piercing gaze locking on Laura. "Test the mother," he ordered.

Draven stepped in front of her, trying to protest, but the soldiers pushed him aside.

Laura's instincts screamed at her to run, but it was too late.

Her hair began to glow an ethereal blue, and her feet left the ground as gusts of wind erupted around her, throwing the soldiers backward.

Her eyes blazed with fury as she shouted, "Stay away"

Ramzy stood his ground, his eyes glowing in response. "Princess Laura," he said, his voice steady, "Did you really think you could hide from the Alliance? I recognized you the moment I saw you."

Laura's voice sharp with defiance.

"You've made a mistake, kid. I can make you regret ever knowing me."

With a wave of her hand, the ground under Ramzy exploded, launching him into the sky.

The villagers froze in place, their eyes wide with shock as they watched Laura send Ramzy flying into the sky.

Murmurs rose like ripples-fear, disbelief, and awe mixing together. For nine long years, they had known her as an ordinary woman, a quiet villager... not the Sorcerer Princess they once heard about only in stories.

Some stepped back in fear, others stared in stunned silence, unable to grasp how someone who lived among them, laughed with them, and raised her child beside them had been hiding such immense power.

Kira saw none of their fear. His face lit up with pure amazement. He looked at his mother with wide, shining eyes, his voice bursting with innocence and excitement.

"Mom! You're flying!"

Draven stared in shock, the realization hitting him: the legendary princess of the sorcerer clans had been living in his village for nine years.

Grabbing Kira, Laura sprinted from the village, activating her speed spell .

Ramzy hit the ground with a heavy thud, summoning his crystal sword to steady himself.

"You can't escape, Princess," he shouted after her. "Your family already knows where you are."

"Laura didn't run far. She froze when a magical portal suddenly appeared in front of her."

"From the swirling depths of the portal, her brother Prince Garen emerged, wearing decorated armor."

His smirk sent a chill down her spine.

"Long time no see, sister," Garen said mockingly. "Running away again, I see?"

He approached as the portal closed behind him, his face full of malice and gloating. "For you, my sister, I will make a special offer, much better than the one I made for your husband.

You're free to leave." His eyes shifted to Kira, his tone turning cold. "But the son of Johan stays."

Rage erupted in Laura's voice. "Leave my son out of this!" She pushed Kira behind her, her body trembling with fury.

Garen replied coolly, "You know I can't do that,"

"He's the last of the warrior's race. He must die."

Laura's scream tore through the air as her body erupted in blue flames.

and with her scream Meteors of fiery energy rained from the sky, hurtling toward Garen with terrifying speed.

Caught off guard, Garen wrapped his arms in blue flames, smashing meteors with his fiery fists.

"Impressive, sister. You're not holding back today, are you?"

Laura moved without stopping, her power growing out of control.

She clapped her hands, sending a freezing gust that turned the fiery rain into an ice storm.

Shards of ice struck the ground as Garen used his magic to teleport away from the ice.

But he wasn't fast enough, his arm froze just before he escaped.

Then, even before his feet touched the ground, Laura appeared behind him, with a huge icy hammer, and used it to smash his frozen arm to pieces.

He screamed in pain as shards of ice flew in every direction."

jumping backwards Garen grabbed his shoulder, staring at the blood in shock and pain, unable to believe he had lost his arm.

His voice trembled with fury and disbelief.

"You'll pay for this, Laura! I swear I'll make you pay for this!"

More portals opened, and Alliance soldiers poured in as Garen retreated, clutching his frozen, shattered arm.

As she saw the approaching soldiers, Laura's eyes glowed orange, and a strange sun-like mark appeared on her forehead.

She raised her arms to the sky, and beams of fire shot from the ground beneath the soldiers, incinerating them.

The air burned with intense heat as chaos consumed the battlefield.

But then Laura felt a sharp, dangerous presence behind her.

Instinctively, she blinked away just as crystal daggers sliced through the air toward her head.

When she looked toward the direction of the attack, Laura saw Ramzy holding Kira, a knife pressed to his throat

"Enough, Princess," he shouted angrily. "Surrender, or the boy dies."

"Kira!" Laura screamed, her voice shaking with fear.

Ramzy's expression changed to concern when he noticed a shadow looming over him, and a deafening roar filled the battlefield.

Even Laura froze, speechless, staring in disbelief. She couldn't believe her eyes.

A massive lion appeared out of nowhere. It was so huge that its body blocked the sun.

"This giant lion, with its long golden fur, is without a doubt him-the same lion I saw nine years ago on my son's birthday," Laura thought, her heart racing.

The giant lion towered behind Ramzy, looking both majestic and terrifying.

Ramzy turned slowly, but before he could react, a massive silver wolf leapt from the side. It tore the knife from his hand, protecting Kira.

Everything happened in a flash. The lion bit into Ramzy's torso and tossed him aside like a ragdoll.

The silver wolf wagged its tail happily, licking Kira gently. Kira felt a strange calm wash over him, as if the wolf had known him forever.

The wolf lowered its head, inviting Kira to climb onto its back. Kira ran his hand over its long, soft fur. As soon as he climbed on, the wolf shot forward, racing away from the battlefield.

Some soldiers froze, staring in disbelief at the giant lion. Others ran back to the portal they came from, terrified. A few charged, hoping to defeat it-but the lion let out a mighty roar, sending them flying with a gust of wind.

Laura activated her speed spell, feeling the magic surge through her. She raced after Kira and the silver wolf, her feet barely touching the ground.

Behind her, the giant lion continued its rampage. She could hear the desperate cries of soldiers fading as she sped away, leaving the battlefield behind.

Suddenly, a black thunderbolt struck the ground in front of them.

Laura froze, her heart racing. She saw Kira on the ground, holding the silver wolf-its body lifeless, killed by the lightning. A wave of panic and fear washed over her.

Knowing exactly where that thunderbolt came from, and the danger it represented, she ran toward her son, screaming, "Kira, run away... now!"

A firm, deep voice boomed through the chaos. "Laura, enough."

She turned and saw her father, Mordrain, standing beside Garen, with thousands of soldiers behind them.

"Father," Laura pleaded, tears streaming down her face. "I'll do anything. Just spare my son, please. I promise you-he's no threat."

Mordrain's expression remained cold. "The boy must die."

Kira clutched Laura's leg, trembling, unable to comprehend why all of this was happening. "Mom!?"

Laura screamed, her body igniting in orange flames as a colossal sun formed above her.

Its heat scorched the earth, but then Mordrain raised his staff. A shiver ran down her spine as darkness swallowed the sky, extinguishing her flames in a black cloud that seemed to devour both the sky and her magic.

Weakened, Laura used the last of her strength to create a portal beneath Kira.

"Son," she whispered into his mind without moving her lips, "I'm sending you to your grandmother's woods. Find the Spirit of the Woods. Be brave."

The portal swallowed Kira just as Mordrain raised his arm, slowly opening his palm.

In the same instant, Laura's body froze in mid-air before being yanked toward him until her neck rested in his grasp. His hand closed around her throat, cutting off her air. Her vision darkened.
