And the voice just now with the madam's appendage in the back, made Luana turn her head instantly. Finding a woman in uniform with her head half bowed right in front of her, Luana blinked.
She wondered if her hearing was wrong this time, but it seemed that the uniformed woman was indeed talking to her.
"Madame? This woman just called me ma'am, and was it for me?" Luana whispered to herself.
"Madam, I am Mare, your personal maid."
The woman spoke again, which further convinced Luana that she was on the same frequency. Swallowing hard, Luana tried to return the maid's polite greeting.
This time the woman who claimed to be named Mare raised her head slowly, which brought her face to face with Mrs. Luiec.
Luana watched Mare closely, guessing that the woman was probably older than her. From the lines of her face, Mare looked so friendly and like she could be relied upon.
"Uh, that, uhm...-"
"Come with me, Ma'am. I'll take you to your room, as you need to get ready soon." Mare cut in quickly.
Luana knitted her eyebrows together, still struggling to comprehend what was happening in front of her eyes. Mare shifted her body, gesturing for Luana to follow her.
"W-wait!" squeaked Luana quickly.
Mare paused, looking back at their great mistress, who seemed far too confused. Shouldn't this woman in front of her know how she should behave as the wife of a noble lord?
"Yes, Ma'am?"
Luana took a breath. The sunlight hitting her body caused a radiating sensation of heat, and it was starting to make her dizzy for some reason.
"Am I going to go? Where?" asked Luana quickly.
There were so many questions running through her mind, and the only person she could ask was probably this woman, the maid. At least Luana thought Mare might be assigned to serve her, and she could ask questions freely.
Mare nodded. "Yes, Ma'am," she replied politely.
Luana frowned again. "But where?" she asked impatiently.
She had just arrived at the luxurious mansion, and the events of this morning had drained her of all her energy. Scene after scene came back to haunt her, as Luana's breathing became heavier. Now she heard she had to leave again. Seriously!
Luana suddenly shuddered in horror, imagining the possibilities of what might happen to her.
Is Rey trying to exile her? Will she be banished?
"I don't know, Ma'am," Mare replied quietly. Flashing a smile, Mare found Luana sighing now. "But what I do know is that you will be going with Master for your honeymoon."
Luana finally chose to shut her lips together. Mare still seemed to be waiting patiently, so Luana followed in her servant's footsteps shortly afterward. Entering the magnificent mansion, Luana chose to chuckle in silence.
Luana really did not know that Rey looked down from his room with a bead as sharp as a blade.
Paying attention to the scene presented through her wide and clear window, he noticed how the woman -- Luana Casavia, looked so shocked. Her facial expression was full of worry and fear, and somehow, that made Rey a little happy on this unlucky day.
Standing right in front of the window, the nobleman took off his tie, which was no longer neat. His jacket had even been thrown on the sofa, and this shirt felt suffocating now.
The silhouettes of Luana and Mare's bodies were moving slowly, and Rey believed they were heading to enter his magnificent mansion.
Welcome to hell, fake girl.
Turning around, Rey's eyes unintentionally looked at his desk not far away. There was something that made the man's chest tighten, and that was a picture that he almost always looked at while working.
Growling, Rey scooped up the picture and stared at it intently. The portrait of the woman in his arms was clearly visible, with a smile on their lips.
Rey Luiec and Beatrice Collins.
Those should have been the two names on their family card, but now it was just wishful thinking because, again, Rey never thought Beatrice would throw him away like trash.
Ignoring his phone, cutting off all lines of communication to the point of being untraceable, Beatrice really intended to leave.
Rey sighed, breathing with an aching chest.
"I promise you will regret it, sweetheart, for ditching me and destroying my dreams," Rey said to the pictures.
Throwing the picture frame onto the marble floor, Rey flinched when the glass shattered into pieces later.
The fragments were scattered, though the smiles of the two were still clearly visible. Stepping on the picture with his expensive shoes, Rey Luiec swung his steps to head for another room.
At least he had to prepare for the honeymoon trip he was supposed to take with his beloved.
A trip that would probably be hell for someone other than him.
On the other hand, Luana's footsteps swung in a moderate motion.
Still amazed at the sophistication of the house she was now in, the woman repeatedly chuckled. Madam Collins' house, where she had been staying, was not as sophisticated and nice as this, even though it could be said that the Collins family was one of the most respected families in their city.
Luana was completely mesmerized by every single thing inside Rey Lueic's residence. That man was really a nobleman.
Mare tugged on the zipper of Luana's suitcase that she had prepared earlier, matching her mistress's footsteps with the suitcase she was dragging on her right side.
Luana had already changed, taking off the dress she had worn for the wedding ceremony this morning and now wearing a short-sleeved, knee-length dress that wrapped around her body.
"Come, Ma'am."
Mare repeated her instructions in a very polite tone, trying her best to serve her new mistress, who looked too innocent.
Luana frowned again, but this time with a perfectly dilated bead. What was in front of her was truly extraordinary.
A private jet was beautifully parked on Rey Luiec's private tarmac, which was right on the top floor of his palatial mansion. Luana almost fell over when she realized how influential Rey could be in this city, with all the amenities she never thought possible.
Her steps stuttered as she climbed the stairs one by one to enter the dashing fleet, finding Rey already seated in a chair with his seatbelt fastened.
One pair of glasses was perched on the noble's high nose, and Luana reflexively swallowed hard. There was only one empty seat left, which was right next to Rey Luiec.
"Hurry up!" Rey shouted suddenly.
The man's voice boomed through the cabin, making Luana flinch involuntarily.
"Uhm... where should I sit, Sir?" asked Luana innocently.
If there was only one more empty seat in the two-person cabin, then where else could Luana sit? It couldn't be next to Rey, right?
Rey snorted in annoyance. Taking off his glasses, he looked straight at Luana.
"Don't you see where the empty seats are?" he asked sarcastically. "Or do you want to sit on the floor?!"
Luana blinked her eyes, really struggling to breathe now.
You're finished, Luana.
