Chapter 5 Mr. Stuart

In the evening, when Sunny returned to her apartment and bent down to change her shoes, Nanny Sarah, wearing an apron, wiped her hands and came over, saying, "Miss Garcia, Mr. Stuart is here."

Mr. Stuart.

This was the second time today that Sunny had heard this title.

But it was not the same person.

After changing her shoes, Sunny walked inside, where the smart home robot, a little cat on wheels, came over and skillfully presented her with a glass of water.

"Thanks, little cat." She took the water, patting the robot's round little head, then instructed it to make a cappuccino for her.

In her high-rise apartment, through the floor-to-ceiling windows in the living room, the neon lights shimmered in the dark night sky.

Someone was standing in the light, talking on the phone.

Colin, dressed in a neat blue-gray suit, looked even more dignified and composed, thanks to the tailored suit that enhanced his presence.

After hanging up the phone, Colin pulled back the curtain and saw Sunny, holding a cappuccino, with the mist swirling around her fair face, looking hazy.

Her clear eyes, however, were exceptionally bright and focused.

"Brother, dinner is ready."

Colin nodded. "Mm."

Colin had a bad stomach, and Sunny had specifically asked Nanny Sarah to prepare fish congee with glutinous rice whenever Mr. Stuart visited; it was an unchanging rule.

At the dinner table, Colin, as usual, asked her about her studies with the care of a parent concerned for their child.

"The orchestra is becoming more harmonious," she said honestly, as their performance had indeed improved.

She picked up a piece of Beijing-style stir-fried pork and placed it in her bowl, followed by some rice, then put it in her mouth. "There are no more classes at school now, just graduation internships and my thesis."

Colin didn't comment, but calmly asked, "How about your driver's license?"

Sunny paused for a moment.

She had never been afraid of any exam, except for the driving test, which she had taken three times.

Her skills were always off-whether it was the position or the clutch. Her body and soul just didn't want to drive.

She sighed. "I passed."

Colin looked at her with a subtle smile, as if he found her troubled expression somewhat amusing.

"You can ask Peter for a car, tell him any requirements."

Peter was his assistant.

A very capable young man.

Sunny had interacted with Peter far more than with Colin.

Sunny continued to eat slowly, and suddenly remembered what David had said, "Mr. Stuart won't be with you for more than a month."

It didn't sound like nonsense.

The phone on the table rang.

Colin glanced at the caller ID, left the table, and answered the call.

Sunny vaguely heard his calm voice saying a single word, "Richard."

It seemed like it was Richard calling.

Colin, the elder son, was two years older than Richard, the younger one.

Sunny quickly calculated, Richard was six years older than her.

Colin was the eldest son, and Richard the second son.

The eldest son was naturally the heir, and Colin had been strictly trained to be the successor from a young age. As for Richard, it seemed more like a "free-range" upbringing.

Richard had been quiet for the past few years. The media speculated that he was sent abroad, but in fact, he had been sent to a military district by Mr. Old Stuart.

Recently, he had returned, and people speculated that it was to fight for the inheritance rights.

It was the typical "brothers fighting for inheritance" drama that the public loved.

But the two brothers had a good relationship and wouldn't possibly fight each other.

Colin was still on the phone, his expression unchanged, but the smile had completely faded from his face.

He glanced at Nanny Sarah with an emotionless gaze, his brow furrowing slightly.

"Did Mrs. Stuart ask you to supervise anything?"

"No, nothing." Nanny Sarah froze, clearly afraid. "The madam just asked me to keep an eye on Miss Garcia's daily activities," she added, leaving out a part, "And specifically, to keep an eye on the eldest son."

"How long has this been going on?"

Nanny Sarah turned red in the face, her voice trembling with fear. "...Half a month."

"You were hired to monitor Sunny's every move?"

The chandelier's light played across Colin's face, his calm eyes giving off a commanding and intimidating aura.

"No! You hired me to take care of Miss Garcia!" Nanny Sarah was drenched in cold sweat, shrinking back in fear. "I swear, I've been looking after her well!"

The sound of a door opening and footsteps rang out, and Colin slowly picked up the cigarette box from the table, then gave a firm order, "Starting tomorrow, you don't need to come."

Sunny came out of her room wearing slippers, and Colin snuffed out the cigarette, slowly lifting his eyes to meet her gaze.

Sunny walked up to him, stood in front of the sofa, and silently looked at him.

Colin said quietly, "Next month, there is Mr. Johason's birthday banquet. You will attend with me."

Over the past nine years, Sunny had come to understand Colin's unspoken message, He would arrange the gifts, and she only needed to show up.

For important matters, he always took care of every detail.

Sunny nodded. "Okay."

Colin stood up, ruffled her hair gently, and softly said, "I'm leaving now. Goodnight."

"Mm, goodnight," Sunny replied, "Safe travels."

Colin often had dinner at her place but never stayed the night.

He was always tied up with meetings and banquets, leaving little time for leisure.

As day turned to night, the wheel of time rolled into late autumn, with the weather growing colder.

On another weekend, Grace invited Sunny to a new Chinese-style copper pot hotpot restaurant.

On a chilly autumn evening, the steaming hotpot and the comfortable, spacious seating made for a cozy, elegant dining experience. The warm lighting enhanced the ambiance. The two of them ate until they were thoroughly satisfied.

Looking across the table, Grace reminisced, "My first impression of you was a legend."

Sunny grinned. "Don't worship me, I'm just a legend of a legend?"

"Hahaha, more or less. Everyone said you were an aloof goddess who lived in another world. Not the 'Bai Jin Xing,' but the 'Pai Bai Jin Xing'-the one who gives up."

Grace continued, "When I first heard those words, I couldn't understand it. How could anyone be a legend by giving up? Then I saw you, and hey, it's actually true!"

Sunny didn't care about other people's opinions, focused solely on herself.

She was the one who made her own way through the world.

"You're the one I admire most," Sunny said slowly, dipping her lamb into the hotpot.

"Heiress Grace, not inheriting the family fortune, but focused entirely on research."

Grace laughed. "I've been kicked out of the family tree! Where's the fortune?"
