Chapter 3

Alisha's POV

I cleared my throat awkwardly, employing my mind for a long search of what to say. My mind had even refused to work properly. Finally, I reckoned I should just greet him and thank him for it earlier.

"Good afternoon, sir. I was actually----"

"Who said you could speak!?" He said in a very clipped and cold voice.

He doesn't recognize me?

I felt a slight chill run down my spine and it became difficult to swallow down my throat. I didn't know I was not expected to greet. I studied his face now and I noticed he looked very different from when I had first seen him.

Earlier, even despite the dangerous aura surrounding him, he still had a softness to him. But this new side of his that I was seeing was entirely different. It was terrifying. His eyes were exuding an intense glint of maliciousness. It almost seemed as if he could kill me any moment from now.

Both of us didn't speak. He just kept staring at me with disgust written all over his face. I almost forgot to breathe. I just wanted to leave his presence immediately. Doesn't he recognize me at all?

"Lower your damn eyes!" He yelled angrily. "How dare you look an alpha king in the eye!? Shall I teach you some lesson, you little filth!?"

I shivered violently from the chill that laced his words. I immediately fell on my knees.

"I'm so sorry, alpha. I won't do it again."

"You know why you are here, right?"

I nodded rapidly. "Yes, I was told I was now your breeder."

"Breeder?" He let out a hysterical laughter. "Who told you that? That is such a dignified way of describing what you are to me."

I gasped as his words sliced through my heart like a knife. The rumors were true after all. He was indeed the cruelest person I have ever seen. I'll make sure Mr Alex pays for doing this to me!

"To me," he began, "you are just a useless piece of shit. You are a worthless baby machine that I'm going to discard when I'm done with you!"

If words were a dagger, I would be dead by now.

How could he say that to a person without even feeling the tiniest bit of remorse? I trembled on my knees as I felt my blood boil over. What could I do? I was so powerless compared to him.

He laughed brusquely, then slipped his hand into his pocket and brought out a neatly folded paper. He threw it at me.

"Those are the rules that you have to follow strictly. Failure to do so would make you lose your head!"

I opened the paper to read the rules. The first one I read had me gasping in shock. My knees gave in, and I fell to the ground.

"Rule number one, you have to give me a boy child and not a girl! If you bear a girl child for me, I will kill the baby in front of you, then I will cut your head off."

How could someone be so brutal? How could someone talk about people's lives as if they were worth nothing? This bastard can never be my mate! It wasn't possible! I have to check it to be sure.

"You can take your time to absorb the rules later. But, the first thing you must know is that each time you break a rule, you get an intense torture session with me! Do you understand!?"

"Yes sir!" I said as I stood up and slowly made my way towards him.

He frowned in confusion, probably wondering what I was trying to do. As I got to him, my wolf became restless again and my nostrils were filled with his scent that I almost couldn't breathe. I poked his arm with the tip of my finger and I felt my wolf trying to take control.

What! Why was this happening to me? I felt my heart squeeze in pain as I finally confirmed he was really my mate.

Suddenly, he grabbed me by the neck and slammed my back violently against the wall. The impact sent my head spinning and I felt a blinding whiteness cover my sight momentarily.

"!" I groaned in pain.

"How dare you!?" He yelled, his whole body vibrating with temper.

"I'm sorry." That was the only reasonable thing I could mutter because it already felt like life was slowly draining out of my body.

"You worthless piece of shit! You dare touch the alpha of the Blood Moon pack!? How dare a useless woman like you try to get close to me!?"

I didn't know what to do or say. He seemed to think touching him was the greatest crime of all time.

His hand tightened around my throat, choking me almost to death. I slapped at his hand, feeling breathless but he didn't even flinch. Instead, he tightened his grip more.

"I didn't add a rule which is the greatest rule. If you dare try to get close to me unnecessarily and without my permission, then I won't hesitate to kill you. If you try to invade my personal space and privacy, I'll fucking skin you alive!!!" He yelled.

My vision was already blurry and my breath hitched in my throat, trying to get free. I squeezed my eyes shut, waiting patiently for death to draw close enough to end my life.

Suddenly, he began sniffing my body. He brought his nose close to my face, and I could feel his breath on my skin, warming my insides up. I shouldn't be feeling this way when I was on the brink of death, especially when the man was a monster.

Suddenly, he released his grip on my neck and I fell to the ground flat on my butt. I took in a quick and ragged breath. That was so close.

"You!" He said, staring at me with an expression I couldn't quite place. "Why do you smell that way!?" His voice sounded hoarse.

"What?"

"Why do you smell like my----- my-----" he trailed off, his face contorting in pain.
