Chapter 5 the grandparents' house

I stared at the screen, my heart racing with anticipation. Who was this mysterious person, and what did they want from me? I thought about ignoring the message, about blocking the number and pretending I had never seen it. But something about the two words - "I'm sorry" - resonated deep within me. I decided to respond, my fingers hesitating over the keyboard as I typed out a simple reply: "Who is this?" The response came quickly, the words spilling out onto the screen like a confession. "It's Alexander.

I've been thinking about you a lot lately, and I wanted to reach out and apologize for everything that happened between us." My heart skipped a beat as I read the words, a mix of emotions swirling inside me. Anger, hurt, and betrayal all vied for dominance, but beneath them all, a spark of curiosity flickered to life. Why was Alexander contacting me now, after all these months? What did he hope to achieve with his apology? I didn't know if I was ready to forgive him, or if I even wanted to. But I did know that I needed closure, and that this might be my chance to get it. I took a deep breath and typed out a response, the words flowing from my heart to the screen. "I'm not sure if I'm ready to talk, but I appreciate your apology. Can we meet in person?" As I sent the message, a sense of trepidation washed over me. What was I getting myself into?
