Chapter 4 Alpha king

"Avery, be quick on your feet, they will be here any time soon".

"Yes sir" I reply duly.

The Alpha King is coming today, in case you don't know what the Alpha King is, he is like the overall ruler of all the wolf packs because he is different from us, he is a Lycan, the one and only of his family line, I heard his brother is half Lycan and half wolf, making him the only pure blood. And from what I've also heard he is quite ruthless and not to be messed with, that is why all Aphas fear him. The whole pack is bustling with the hum of activities as everyone is preparing for his arrival. According to what I heard, he is looking for his mate which was said in a prophecy will help him with the brewing war with the rogue wolf kingdoms. Good luck with that. Everyone seems anxious and excited but I don't feel anything, its just the king looking for his mate, that's all. And don't worry I have no desire to be his mate nor would I even dream of it. I doubt I can even catch his eyes. I'm just useless, That's what I tell myself, at least I won't be surprised when someone calls me useless because my mind is already used to it. In a few hours we have prepared everything, if the pack house was clean before it has become spotless and the meals prepared are so mouth watering that my stomach is growling, I haven't eaten since morning and I am really exhausted. The uproar coming from the outside signals the arrival of the Alpha King and his entourage, as servants we are all expected to welcome them. I start making my way to the entrance as the others but then I'm suddenly pulled by someone,I turned and to my shock its my mother, she has this nasty look on her face as she drags me painfully towards the pantry behind the kitchen, her nails are painfully digging into my arm, I try not to wiggle free as she digs in even more. By the time she let's go of my hand, I already have a big bruising starting to turn purple on my arm.

"Moth... Luna where are you taking me to ?" I question very puzzled, she doesn't look at me but just pushes me in.

"I don't want the Alpha King to see a trash like you. You stay here and be quiet until he leaves"

"But...."

"Be quiet, make a noise and I swear by the goddess that I will personally kill you" she hisses viciously at me and with that the door slams in to my face and I hear the click of a lock.

I stand there for a while processing what just happened, from the way I see it, if she wants to hide a trash like me, she should hide all the servants who are Omega but why is she hiding only me. I suddenly come to the realization, she doesn't want the Alpha King to find out that their daughter is an Omega, I should have seen it. Well there goes my chance of seeing what the Alpha King looks like, not that I care anyway but it would be great to see a legend like that. But why will i want him to see me anyway, I'm still dressed in tattered clothes, and I'm sure my face looks ragged by now from all the work, just forget it. This is better. I settle down on the cold floor of the pantry and take a look, come to think of it, this is the first time I've been here, the place is big with a bit of the 80's look, cold and unhappy with foodstuffs that I dare not touch for the fear of being beaten even though I am starving. I shiver a little because I'm not wearing a jacket so I try to cuddle myself.

"What are you thinking brother?"

"Nothing, just that I wish this is the last place I have to come to" Lucien answered gruffly, the person who asked laughed a little.

"Don't worry, it might" Damien Moon, Alpha Lucien's younger brother, was what you would call the complete opposite of his brother. He has the same height as his brother, a little bit to the lean side but he was as good looking as him, though Lucien still beat him in the looks. His hair was also blonde and styled in a wavy way to reach his shoulder but he had green eyes and not purple like his brother considering that he wasn't full Lycan, it all made sense but there loved each other even though they didn't show it. He was the playful one of the duet, always trying to relieve the tension, unlike his stern and serious brother, but don't let looks fool you, he was as deadly as his brother. They both dressed in same fashion, thick jeans, tight T- shirt and a leather jacket, the only difference was the color. Alpha Lucien's clothes were completely black while Damien's were white. A good contrast.

"Alpha, we are so happy and honored to have you here in our humble pack" Alpha Lucien faced Alpha Maxine as he was greeted.

"Yes Alpha and we would like to know if there is anything we can do to make your visit here comfortable" his wife, Luna Lara spoke enthusiastically, to be honest their attitude made him cringe inside.

"Thank you Maxine and Lara for hosting me but I don't want to take much of your time, I would like all the unmated females to be assembled before me as quick as possible." He told them stiffly without cracking a smile at them.

"Oh sure, yes as you wish"

In no minute, a line of beautiful clearly unmated females were lined up in front of him, their total could amount to three hundred or even more.

"Wow, brother..." Damien whistled beside him as he stared at the long line of beauties, "....I do wish I was in your shoes right now, I would take all of them"

"Yeah you would, but do you have the strength for that" Alpha Lucien said as he started walking towards them, he knew his brother was joking.

Alpha Lucien put on a stoic and grim face as he passed them one by one, sniffing them out, the girls stood with tension as he passed them. By the time he reached the end of the line, he shook his head slowly, she wasn't here, that meant he had to keep searching. The look he gave his brother already said the answer, Damien nodded slowly.

"Alpha Maxine, we appreciate coming here but it seems like what we came here for us not to be found here. We would take our leaves" Damien told the husband and wife, who led graciously at him. Secretly, Luna Lara wished that her daughter wasn't already mates, she would have loved to offer her daughter to him, so sad.

As soon as he was about to leave, he stiffened immediately he scented her.

"Where is she?" He growled looking directly at the couple, they were already looking scared and uneasy.
