"Madam, please take it; I will lose my life or break a bone if I return this to Mr. Deluca," the driver begged, but how was that going to be my problem? I assured him that nothing would happen and was about to get out of the car when I remembered how blood dripped from Luis' face when he forced me to sign the paperwork, so I quickly returned to take the card and launch box.
"I am sorry I was not thinking straight," I said, apologizing for nearly killing the innocent driver.
"Ariella!" I heard Emma call out to me from a distance.
"Emma," I replied waving as she ran towards me but got blocked by a bunch of bullies.
"Look who we got here," one said looking at Emma disgustingly.
"Hey don't play this game with me I'll get you expelled from campus if you keep -"
"Calm down, Emma. I don't think you have that much power. Do you know who we are?" another cut her off. I got irritated and walked towards them, asking them to back off, but one pushed me away.
"Ariella Johnson, you may run the courtroom but not Atlanta so know your place or else -"
"What?" I cut him off when one approached me furiously but stopped in the middle, raising their hands in the air.
"Mrs. Deluca just says the words, and I will blow his brains out," the driver said with a deadly expression.
"Mrs. Deluca," the bullies and Emma said in shock.
"Madam, I am waiting," the driver said again, and I did not know what to say.
"Ariella, please do not let him kill me. I didn't mean to bully you; I was just jealous of you and Emma. I do not want to die," the bully begged.
"Looks like someone is about to wet their pants; what should I do with him, madam?" the driver inquired again.
"Nothing just-just let him go. I am sure he learned his lesson, right boys?" I asked his friends, who were panicking.
"Yes, we will not bully you again, sir. Please forgive us," they said.
"Do not ask me to ask Mrs. Deluca before I call her husband here," the driver replied, and the boys complied.
"Please put down the gun, and what are you still doing here?" I asked as I expected him to be gone.
"I am sorry, madam, but I am not allowed to leave your side until I safely transport you back home; that is the order I received, and if anything happened to you today, Sir would not be so easy on me," he replied, and Emma pulled out her eyes in confusion.
"Ariella what's going on here?" she asked, looking confused.
"I'll explain later, let's go to class first," I said and walked away with Emma.
What just happened felt awkward, and I did not like how everyone looked at me as if I were intimidating or something. I walked into class and set my lunch box on the table when a classmate approached me. "Ariella, would you mind telling us where you have been? I mean, since you are a little disadvantaged, you could have been out there seducing some rich oldie and returned with this expensive lunch box, right?" They said, making everyone laugh.
"Shut up, what do you gain from making fun of her? Do you not have any morals or humanity?" Emma defended me, but I did not want to say anything because I already had a lot going on.
"Emma Lopez, if there is one thing you should tell me, it is that you are going to stop fighting battles that are not yours. We are not doing anything wrong here, just wondering how Ariella got herself this lunch box and, oh, an unlimited black card," they continued.
"Are you sure you want to know?" Klara asked as she walked in.
"Agg, look who's talking. Klara Johnson. You should join Emma in learning to mind your own business, okay."
"Guys, did you see the trending clip? Hello, are you bullying Ariella? I hope you are ready for Luis Deluca's visit," another classmate said as they entered.
"What?" the bully asked, scrolling through their phone and quickly finding the video of what had happened to the others outside.
"Shit, Arie-Ariella, I am sorry; I didn't mean to do all of that. I was just trying to get some attention and-"
"How do you accomplish that by insulting others?" Klara interrupted.
"I am sorry, please spare me; I do not want my family to be hurt, and I will never-"
"Wait, are we talking about Luis, the ruthless Deluca?" another asked while the other responded, "Yes."
"Oh my goodness, laughing was also a crime," they said, rushing to kneel before me, and before I knew it, everyone who had laughed was on their knees.
"Ariella, we are sorry," they begged.
"Please get up, I am forgiving you, but that does not mean you have the right to drag people because they can not afford something because that does nothing but demoralize them; instead, try to help them where you can; you never know how helpful they might be in the future, OK," I said, and they all agreed before standing up to clean their knees as the professor walked in.
"Ariella, you are so nice; if I were you, I would let those Deluca bullets sound in their brains," Klara jokes.
