Chapter 4 Love Brewing

They were panting heavily, sweat running down their faces . They were both very exhausted.

Carol sat up and winced in pain. Drake looked at her , concerned.

"Are you alright? Was I rough?"

"You..you were telling me the truth. You were a virgin?" His face in shock

Carol looked at him raising a brow.

" You did not believe me?" Suddenly angry, Goddammit, Drake! Did you actually think I was a prostitute?"

Drake looked at her face and smiled a bit amused. Her face was angrier at his amused expression.

Drake almost laughed but held it in and got up from the bed, walking towards her. She grunted in anger and tried to slap him , but he held her wrists mid-air.

She pulled her arm away , still angry . He finally laughed at her and admist laughter,

"Come on, emerald. Do not be like that. Its not my fault. "

Carol cuts in sharply, "so it's my fault? Is that what you are trying to say?"

Drake put his hands in prayer position , smiling playfully.

"Don't get mad at me, emerald. I did not mean it that way. I would never think such of you."

Carol's expression softened. Drake moved closer and placed his hands on her small waist and continued.

"But do not think that I won't stop passing you off. You are so cute when you get mad. Like a little cat."

Carol rolled her eyes, chuckling softly. The love connection between them was getting stronger and stronger.

"Do it again, emerald. "

She looked confused, raising her brows,

"Do what, Drake?"

Drake said with a warm expression, "laugh for me"

Carol rolled her eyes and made to walk away, but he pulled her close.

" Do it or i will be forced to make you ."

Carol scoffed at him . He smirked and started tickling her. She laughed loudly.

"Stop it! Please " she said this admist laughter.

He stopped, giggling sheepishly. She glared at him with a smile and wriggled her nose.

Drake's ex girlfriend, Elisha fumed angrily in her room on hearing that Drake was now married to Carol her former best friend. She streamed, cussed and threw unnecessary tantr.

Her mother walked into her room on hearing the noises.

"What is the matter with you?" her mother asked in irritation.

Elisha glared at her mother and spat out.

"Leave me the fuck alone! Get out!"

Her mother stood still and indifferent . Her reaction clear that this was not the first time that Elisha was being this rude. Her mother sighed sadly and spoke in a calmer , more caring tone.

"Please, sweetie. Tell mommy what is troubling you. A problem shared is a problem half solved"

Elisha looked at her mother and took deep breaths , finally calming down.

She sat in the edge of her bed, rubbing her temples. Her mother walked to her, but didn't seat beside her, worried about another potential tantrum.

"I'm all ears."

"Mom, Drake is married to Carol."

Her mother gasped in disbelief and commented.

"Carol, your best friend from college? Why? How?"

The mother was more of shocked at this revelation. Drake didn't even seem like someone who would ever get married to any girl, so why now? What changed?.

Her mother softened more when her daughter began bursting into tears. She walked to and gave her a warm hug.

"Shh. There. There sweetie. It's alright to cry, but you have to move on. Not for Drake, but for yourself.

Elisha fumed, still in tears,

"I can't do that! I love Drake more than anything I the qorls and he left me for that conniving asshole! It's not fair! " she continued weeping bitterly.

Her mother was at her wits end trying to console her heart broken daughter. Frankly, she knew that Drake never liked Elisha's behaviour as he always complained to the mother about her.

Elisha was rude, impulsive, arrogant and virtually mean to everybody that wasn't in her favour.

On top of that, she was also a gold digger who only dated men because of their money and influence. She even worked as a stripper and a prostitute at a night club called, "Midnight Santuary".

Drake accepted her nevertheless, yet, Elisha was never contended with anything.

Although she loved Drake, she always made his life a living hell. She would demand things that were very expensive and would throw fits in public until he caved.

Her mother sheepishly stated,

"He is married now. What could you possibly do at this moment?"

Elisha suddenly grinned at her mother. The mother knew she had a crazy idea.

"Don't do anything stupid, Elisha. Let it be.

Elisha got up and walked to her big mirror and slowly said,

"Drake is mine. He always has and always will be mine. No chick is going to steal him. I'll make sure of it."

She faced her mother and looked at her watch

"Oh, it's already night time. I have to head down to the brothel. I'm working a late night shift. "

Elisha put on an extremely exposing leather dress that almost exposed her buttocks. She then wore matching boots that stretched up to her knees.

"Later." Elisha sneered sarcastically witha smug smile plastered on her face as she made to leave.

"Elisha wait!" her mother called out.

Elisha turned to face her. Her hand balanced on the door knob.

Her mother said with all compassion,

"I love you, baby."

Elisha merely scoffed as she rolled her eyes. After that, she exited the house, slamming the door behind her.

Her mother sat on a chair, her heart heavy. Her life had been a wreck ever since she married her husband. He abandoned her after finding out that she was pregnant for his own child.

Ever since then, life went downhill for her. Elisha was a highly problematic child and always humiliating her in public. Once, Elisha slapped her face at a central bank.

She still remembered the wave of embarrassment she felt that day. It was dreadful.

Besides that, Elisha boyfriend at the age of ten. Her mother never approved, but it didn't matter anyway.

At the age of twelve, Elisha got disvirgined by a thirty tear old. It was beyond immoral. It was an atrocious. All Elisha does is termed atrocious.

Her mother went into the kitchen and resolved deeply. She couldn't do it anymore...
