Chapter 4 Made it Rain

Chapter 4: Made it Rain

RAIN'S POV

The sky was a deep, foreboding grey, with clouds that seemed to swirl and twist in every direction. Rain stood outside the tall glass and steel tower of Savage Industries, her arms laden with a portfolio of paintings and a few carefully wrapped sculptures. She shifted her weight from one foot to the other, her eyes fixed on the entrance of the building.

As she waited, the wind began to pick up, rustling the leaves of the nearby trees and sending the flags on the building's roof flapping wildly. Rain shivered, despite the warmth of the air, and pulled her jacket tighter around her. She had been standing there for what felt like hours, waiting for the courage to go inside and show her artwork to the CEO of Savage Industries.

Upstairs in his father's office, Damon stood at the window, staring down at Rain through the glass. He watched her quietly, his eyes taking in the way she shifted her weight from one foot to the other, the way her pink hair blew in the wind. He was curious, wondering what she was doing standing outside his father's office building.

As he watched, a drop of rain landed on the windowpane, followed by another, and another. The sky was growing darker by the minute, and Damon could see the wind picking up, sending Rain's hair flying. He felt a sudden urge to go down and talk to her, to find out what she was doing there and why she looked so lost.

But he hesitated, unsure of what to do. His father was a demanding man, and Damon knew that he would not be pleased if he left the office to go talk to some random trench girl. He could remember her from the other day but had no idea what she wanted. For all he knew, she could be some kind of crazy fan or stalker.

As the rain began to fall in earnest, Damon turned away from the window and walked back to his father's desk. He sat down in the chair opposite his father, trying to focus on the papers in front of him. But his mind kept wandering back to the girl outside, standing in the rain.

Damon sighed as he stormed out of the building, his long strides eating up the distance between him and Rain. She looked up, startled, as he grasped her arm and pulled her away from the rain-soaked sidewalk.

"What are you doing here?" he demanded "Are you stalking me?"

Rain's eyes widened in fear as she tried to shake off his grip. "N-no, I just wanted to..." she stammered.

Damon's expression twisted in disgust. "Yes I went after you that day and somehow took you home but that was it. I am not into you. You think I care about your little crush? You're just a pathetic girl from the trench, trying to leach off me."

Rain looked away quickly, her face crumpled as she fought tears. "I'm not trying to leach off you," she whispered. "I just..."

"I've dealt with crazier fans." .Damon's grip on her arm tightened. "You're wasting your time," he sneered. "I don't care about you, and I don't care about your feelings. Stay away from me, or I'll make sure you regret it. You stalk me one more time? I'll make you disappear, you hear me?"

Rain's body shook with sobs as Damon pushed her away from him. She stumbled backwards, her art and sculptures scattering across the wet pavement.

"Get out of here," Damon spat, turning to the security guards who had followed him out of the building. "Make sure she never sets foot in this company again. I don't want her close to my property ever again."

The guards moved to escort Rain away, their hands grasping her arms as they dragged her out into the rain. She fell onto the wet pavement, her body wracked with sobs.

As she lay there, the rain pounding against her face, Rain felt like she was drowning in a sea. She had never felt so small, so insignificant and humiliated in her life.

The sound of Damon's voice, cold and heartless, echoed in her mind. "Stay away from me, or I'll make sure you regret it."

Rain's heart felt like it was shattering into a million pieces. She knew that she would never be able to show her face in this part of town again. She was humiliated, defeated, and broken.

As the rain continued to fall, Rain slowly got to her feet, her eyes searching the pavement for her scattered art. She gathered up what she could, her heart heavy with sorrow.

As she walked away from the building, Rain knew that she would never forget the way Damon had treated her. She would never forget the feeling of being belittled, humiliated, and broken.

The storm outside seemed to mirror the turmoil within her. She felt like she was walking through a dark and endless tunnel, with no light in sight.
