Chapter 2

As we flipped through the paper, we came across a series of technical reports that were beyond my understanding.

However, at the end, it was clearly stated that Tom was confirmed to be Jenny's biological father.

The test date was three years ago, back when Tom was still alive.

Could it be true that Tom really cheated on Tania?

Did he really have an illegitimate daughter?

Honestly, despite having met many people and gained a lot of experience through various part-time jobs over the past two years, I was still taken aback at that moment.

The report fell to the ground like a fallen leaf, only to be picked up by Jenny with great care.

"What do you two mean by this? Are you refusing to acknowledge me?" Jenny asked. I've brought the report, which is too solid for you to deny!"

Jenny deliberately waved the report in front of me, as if worried we couldn't see the stamp that signified its authenticity.

Tania's eyes turned red, though she pretended to be strong and held back her tears.

A sharp pang hit my heart.

I snatched the report from Jenny's hand and tore the sheets into pieces in a matter of seconds.

But I underestimated her.

She was only stunned for a few seconds before gleefully pulling out more papers from her bag.

"My mom told me you'd destroy the evidence. Luckily, I made plenty of copies. Go ahead and rip them up if you feel like it. There are plenty more where those came from," Jenny said with a self-satisfied smirk. "No matter how many you tear, I still have more."

Unable to hold myself back any longer, I slapped her with the shredded paper in my hand.

Jenny could no longer smile, and with a suppressed anger, she said, "Verena, how dare you! You will pay for this! Mark my words. And I swear I'll get what's mine! I am the daughter of Tom Blake too! I will get every penny I deserve!"
