Chapter 4 Beginning of the Game

Vyora blinked and then continued walking with an empty stare. Vyora walked down the office corridor, her mind still swirling over the conversation with Leo in the elevator earlier.

Vyora didn't expect her boss to have a dark and terrifying side like that. All this time, Leo had always seemed professional and authoritative, never showing a threatening attitude like he did earlier.

"What's happening to me?" Vyora murmured to herself, feeling anxious and confused.

Suddenly, Vyora bumped into someone in front of her. She lifted her face, adjusting her glasses. Vyora was then surprised to see Noah, her ex-boyfriend, standing in front of her.

"Noah?" Vyora immediately moved away and cleared her throat.

Noah looked at Vyora with a cynical gaze. "Oh, Vyora. You should try walking with your feet and eyes at the same time."

Vyora flinched slightly, immediately lowering her head, feeling guilty. "Sorry," Vyora replied, not wanting to meet Noah's eyes.

Noah shook his head and walked away from Vyora. Vyora looked up as she heard his footsteps fading. Suddenly, Vyora felt a little annoyed.

Noah looked different from when they were still dating. Noah now looked more handsome and authoritative, but his gaze felt cold and emotionless.

Vyora sighed, feeling annoyed. Noah seemed as if he didn't remember her anymore. Yet, Vyora had once loved Noah so much. Vyora even emptied her savings to help Noah's business.

A few months ago, when Noah's business failed, Vyora stayed by his side and gave him support. Vyora was also the one who recommended Noah to work at her office.

"You're so forgetful! You could have been successful because of me," Vyora muttered, letting out a harsh breath.

Vyora immediately walked quickly out of the office. She was hungry, but her wallet wasn't very full. So, she decided to buy instant noodles at the minimarket near the office.

While walking towards the minimarket, Vyora remembered again her meeting with Leo in the elevator earlier. Leo's offer was still swirling in her mind.

"Could this be the answer?" Vyora thought, her heart filled with mixed emotions.

"I love Noah so much, but he doesn't want to remember me anymore. I'm willing to give him everything, but he doesn't appreciate my feelings. Should I use Mr. Leo to get back at Noah?"

"I never regret loving Noah," Vyora thought, looking at the busy street, waiting to cross. "But why could he forget everything so quickly?"

Vyora entered the minimarket. She grabbed a pack of instant noodles and a glass of milk. While waiting at the cashier, Vyora again recalled Noah's transformation after successfully running his business.

Noah, who was once nerdy and simple, now had a more attractive appearance. Noah also seemed much more confident.

"I helped him," Vyora muttered, holding back her annoyance. "And he forgot all of it?"

"Why do I have to be the one who gets hurt in the end?" Vyora thought. "Noah forgets me so easily, but I still love him so much."

Vyora took out her wallet. She saw a picture of Noah and her still kept in her wallet. Vyora smiled sadly. She still loved Noah so much, but Noah seemed to have forgotten about her.

"It seems Mr. Leo was right," Vyora thought. "I have to get back at Noah. I have to use Leo. I want to see Noah regret what he did."

Vyora walked out of the minimarket. She walked home with a heart full of mixed emotions. She still loved Noah, but she also felt deeply disappointed and heartbroken.

Suddenly, Vyora saw Noah walking with a woman. Vyora was shocked. The woman was the same woman who was with Noah at the bar that night.

Vyora was silent, staring at Noah and the woman with a gaze full of hatred. Vyora regretted loving Noah with all her heart.

"I'm going to use Leo," Vyora muttered, clenching her fist. "I'm going to make Noah regret what he did."

The next day, during lunch time, Vyora stood in front of Leo's office door, her heart pounding. She didn't expect to meet Leo again so soon, especially with the intention of accepting that terrifying offer.

"I have to do this," Vyora muttered, trying to calm herself. "I don't want to lose my job. And I want to make Noah regret it."

Vyora began to raise her hand to knock on Leo's door.

"Come in," Leo answered from inside.

Vyora took a deep breath and entered the room. Leo was sitting at his desk, looking at Vyora with an unreadable expression.

"How are you, Vyora? Have you decided?" Leo asked, his voice drawing Vyora's attention.

Vyora lowered her head, trying to overcome her shame and anxiety. "Yes, Sir. I'm willing to accept your offer."

Leo smirked. "I knew you would say that."

"Why would you want to help me?" Vyora asked, curious. "You've never shown any interest in me before."

Leo observed Vyora's expression. He smiled sweetly. "I don't like your relationship with Noah."

Vyora flinched slightly. Her heart jumped. "Why?"

"It doesn't matter. What matters is I'm going to help you," Leo replied. "I'll give you everything. I won't hurt you. And I'll make Noah regret hurting you."

Vyora stared at Leo with confusion. She didn't understand what was happening. Leo seemed to have deep feelings inside him, but he wasn't expressing them. It was like there was a huge wall that Leo had deliberately built. And Vyora couldn't reach the wall or even destroy it.

Vyora swallowed, nervous. She didn't expect the conversation with Leo to end with such a sensitive question.

"I hope you also explain this to your girlfriend," said Vyora, trying to stay calm. "I don't want there to be any complicated misunderstandings."

Leo furrowed his brow, tilting his head slightly as he looked at Vyora. "Girlfriend? Who are you talking about?"

"Don't you have a girlfriend?" Vyora asked, trying to look at Leo's face, although she was a little wary.

"I'm not in a relationship," Leo replied in a flat voice. "You must have heard rumors from people."

"I think it's normal for someone like you. It would be more illogical if you didn't have a woman," Vyora replied, trying to find a logical reason.

Leo chuckled softly, a sound he rarely showed to other employees. "Forget about that. That rumor isn't true. So, how is our relationship now? Are we dating, or should we just get married?"

Vyora was shocked. "What? Isn't that excessive? I just want you to help me. There shouldn't be any need for an official status."

Leo looked at Vyora with a menacing gaze. "What if I need it? Can you refuse, Vyora?"

"W-what do you mean?" Vyora asked, scared.

Leo smiled cynically. "You already know what will happen if you refuse."

Vyora looked in disbelief. "I don't understand, Mr. Leo. Is there another agreement to what you said before?"

"Yes, I forgot one thing. I'll help you get revenge, but you have to help me too." Leo replied firmly, as if it were a command.

Vyora widened her eyes slightly. "Can I?"

Leo smiled mysteriously, a smile he rarely gave to anyone. "You just have to be my girlfriend. We have to be the perfect couple in front of my family."
