The night air was thick with tension, crackling with an energy Kael could feel deep in his bones. The full moon hung low in the sky, casting a cold, pale light over the forest. Kael stood at the edge of the clearing, his eyes scanning the dark woods that stretched out before him. "Prepare the pack," Kael ordered. "We meet them head-on if we have to. But I'm not backing down."

Luca nodded and turned to relay the message, but Kael's mind was already drifting again-back to Elara. What if she was caught in the middle of this? What if the violence between the packs spilled over into the human world?
