Chapter 10 10.

Behave Maria. You met the guy just a month back, and here you are sitting in a room watching a movie with a hopelessly handsome guy, but I know nothing about.

"Are you there?" He said, snapping his fingers in front of me, trying to get me out of my zone.

"Yes. Let's get back to the movie." I said and played the movie, which we had paused. The movie was very scary, but I made sure not to touch him.

Instead, he just put his hand forward without saying anything, and I knew he meant I could hold it when I was scared. The movie got over, and I slightly hated the fact that he had to leave.

"By the way, Charlotte, those shorts and no bra really work for me." He said while leaving the room with a wink. My heart fluttered. I did not realize that I was only in shorts and a light T-shirt without a bra. Pervert. Actually, cute pervert.

The next day was boring. My classes were a pain. Each teacher juust went on and on. That movie night was still memorable. We exchanged glances each time we saw each other. His presence created a smile on my face. We chatted for hours, and he often came over to my room when Melinda was not there. It was strange but nice.

"Hey bitch! Stop daydreaming and move quickly, if you walk at this speed, the whole lunch is going to get over." Melinda said and smacked my butt waking me up from my thoughts.

This girl has to learn some manners. She goes around smacking my butt like its the most natural thing to do.

I reached the cafeteria and walked to our usual table. We were a group now, and we always ate lunch together.

The boys were not often there for lunch because they had football practices, but Melinda made it a point to sit with me, though she had her cheerleading practices.

Luckily, everyone was seated at the table together. I was sitting between Charles and Carlos. Emma was on Denzel's lap. You will always find her there. Now it's not even awkward seeing them like that.

"Don't touch my food. How many times do I have to tell you that?" Melinda said as she smacked Sam's hand, who was trying to grab a few fries.

"They are just some fries," Carlos said and received the deadliest look from Melinda.

There is something you should know about Melinda. She can never share food with anybody. Carlos knew that he just loved annoying her. It's like both of them kept fighting all the time.

"Baby doll, I need to talk to you in private. I badly need your help." Carlos exclaimed, putting his hand on mine.

Carlos and I had become really good friends in these days. I could call him my closet guy friend. I have been an introvert my entire life, so it's tough for me to interact with guys or be friends with them, but with Carlos, it was just natural.

He was the weirdest guy I had met, but I loved him the way he was. You can run to him with any problems, and he would be standing there with a solution, and if not, he would always have a joke to make you forget the problem.

I told him about my feelings for Charles because I spent most of my time with Charles. We seldom went to grab a bite or study together, or just stroll through the park. It was tough to be around an amazing guy like him and not behave like a fan girl.

"Carlos, you could ask her that even with your hand off hers?" Charles snapped, looking at where Carlos had put his hand. He seemed annoyed, and I really didn't know why. Its very rare that I have seen Charles pissed and I do not like the pissed him.

"Relax, Mr Lover boy, you don't have to get all jealous and possessive. Maria, please come with me." Carlos laughed and, in return, earned a slap on the arm from me. He was always like this.

"What is it that you can't discuss over here, Carlos? " He asked angrily. That is when I realized the mood was not funny anymore. Both of them were giving each other cold stares.

"Not everything needs to be told to you," Carlos yelled back at Charles. If I do not stop this, it will worsen.

"Maria, don't go," Charles replied. They might be best friends, but they never miss a chance to fight.

Before I could respond, Carlos took my hand and pulled me out of the cafeteria. This is not going to be good. I knew this was going to be horrible. I didn't want to be a part of this.

"What the hell is wrong with you? You could have dealt with it in a better way. You're his best friend, you know him better. This was not the way. Go to the cafeteria and apologise to him." I yelled at him. I did not want Charles to he hurt. He looked really angry when we left.

"I know V, but what I want to tell you is important." Carlos nodded in defeat, and I knew that he would have never done it unless it was important.

"Okay. As soon as you are done, we are going back to have lunch with everybody, and you will apologise to Charles." He just nodded quickly because he was really excited to tell me something.

"I like a girl a lot." He said, and I jumped in excitement.
