Chapter 4 Goodbye monster

"Burn her!" Samantha instructed with a wicked smile and turned to leave. "Oh, and Sophia..." she paused and turned to look at me, still smiling. "I'll make sure to take good care of Leo for you," she whispered in the most annoying voice and burst out laughing.

"Samantha, please don't do this! I'm not going to be a problem! I'll leave him!" I cried, hoping she would stop seeing me as a threat, "That's the thing Sophia, even if you leave him, you can never leave his heart. He loved you, and as long as you're alive, he won't let me fully into his heart," she replied and took slow strides to where I was.

"He doesn't love me. If he do, he wouldn't divorce me so easily, so please just let me go," I pleaded. She pretended to think about it for a while before saying, "Nope, I am not taking any chances. You have to go. Sorry." She spun around and walked out of the room, leaving me with her two minions.

The man picked me up from the chair and took me back outside to the same car he brought me in. He forced me into the car and locked me in. From inside, I watched in horror as he poured gasoline all over the car.

"Help! Help me!" I screamed and began trying to escape from the car. The door to the other side opened, and the woman got in. She handed me a piece of paper and a pen. "Sign here," she instructed calmly as if we were not in a car that would soon be set ablaze.

I stared at the paper, and it read "Transfer of Vehicle Ownership." They were trying to make it seem like I bought the car and self-exited in it. "You're crazy if you think I'll sign that!" I snapped. I couldn't see her face because of the mask she was wearing, but I could tell she was glaring at me.

She brought out a gun from behind her and pointed it at me, threatening me to sign the paper. But I maintained my stance, she was going to kill me anyway, so what was the point? She raised the gun backward and tried to hit me with it, but I dodged and knocked the gun out of her hand.

She punched me hard and bent to retrieve the gun. Just then, my eyes caught sight of a bottle of champagne under the seat, and I quickly picked it up and smashed it on her head.

She went numb immediately. I wasn't sure if she passed out or was dead, but I couldn't care. I looked out the window to see the man going into the house, probably to get a lighter. Without wasting time, I took off the lady's clothes and face mask and put them on myself. I dressed her in my clothes and took the gun, tucking it in my pocket. I also made sure to sign the papers before I got out of the car.

The man returned just as I got out of the car. "Did she sign it?" he asked. I nodded, trying to look as calm as possible. "Good, but why is she so silent? You didn't kill her, did you?" he asked and began walking to the car.

"I knocked her out," I lied, trying so hard to imitate the lady's voice. He stopped in his tracks and stared at me suspiciously. "Let's get this over with, then," he muttered and retrieved a lighter from his pocket.

I stepped away from the car and watched as he threw the lighter on it. The car was immediately engulfed in flames, and soon an explosion occurred, followed by a piercing scream. It turned out she was alive after all.

The man burst out laughing like that was the funniest thing he had ever seen. I had spent the last two years watching Leo kill people, so death didn't faze me anymore, but the fact that it was supposed to be me burning in the car sent chills down my spine.

"Let's go, the boss is waiting," the man said and began walking toward the car. I stared at him as he got closer to the car. I knew I couldn't go with him. It would only be a matter of time before I was figured out.

"Aren't you coming?" he asked, spinning around. I stared at him hesitantly before finally deciding on what to do. I retrieved the gun I had stolen from the lady and planted a bullet in his head. I watched as he fell to the ground, lifeless.

I tucked the gun back in my pocket and carried his body into the car. He was really heavy, and by the time I finally had him in the car, I was soaked with sweat.

I got into the car and began navigating my way out of the abandoned road. It took me two hours before I was finally off the road. I drove around the city for a while, not sure of where to go. I made sure to avoid police checkpoints and busy roads. I finally came to a stop in front of a forest.

I looked around for a while, making sure no one was watching, before driving into the forest. I avoided the trees as much as possible and drove at full speed until I came across a cliff. "Here's our stop," I announced to the dead man in the back seat.

I got out of the car and went to stand at the edge of the cliff to make sure it was deep enough. After confirming that, I returned to the car, put it in neutral, and got out. "Goodbye, monster," I muttered as I watched the car drive toward the edge of the cliff.
