Chapter 5 Leaving

Aurora's POV

I found it difficult to breath. .

My chest felt as if it were being squeezed by an unseen hands.

The word-*pregnant*-it made me feel even more horrified.

My hands were shaking uncontrollably and my heart was beating wildly that I could literally hear it.

"How could you? Cassandra looked down at me with disdain.

"I- I don't know what you are saying."

But before I could finish , Cassandra slapped me hard across the cheeks that sent me reeling back and hitting my back against the wall and pain raced through me.

But they didn't give a damn.

Cassandras mocking and cruel laughter echoed and Alicia's smirk left a lasting impression on my mind.

"You think anyone will give a damn about you now? Alicia asked in a disgusting voice. "A pregnant omega, how thoughtful of you . You are so worthless."

"Just like your mother. " Cassandra added." You have brought disgrace to this family."

The weight of their words made the world to spin and swirl around me and I could take it no more.

"Now can you do well to tell us the bastard who got you pregnant?" Cassandra said grabbing me by the arm, her fingers digging into my skin.

"I- I." I wanted to say something but only hot air came out .

Cassandra pushed me back and I fell back again, my head hitting the wall.

"You know what." Cassandra said grabbing me again." You're leaving this house." She said pushing me to the door while Alicia snatched my coat off the hook.

" Please." I begged.

" Don't waste your time mother, why don't we kill her and lie to Father that she ran off." Alicia suggested and as I stared at Cassandra I knew she was about taking the suggestion.

Without waiting, I turned and ran away.

The chilly night air slapped my skin as I ran not even bothering to close the door but I felt nothing.

I still couldn't believe that I was pregnant. What had i gotten myself into? And the worst part was that I didn't know who the idiot was.

I did not know where I was going. All I knew was that I had to get away from them and the nightmare they had let me live.

I ran through the dark streets faster and harder despite the burning feeling in my chest that felt like i was suffocating.

As I sprinted through the deserted streets, the tears that I had suppressed since I woke up finally spilled out.

Cassandra and her daughter's words kept piercing my heart that I didn't watch where I was going.

I didn't see the car before me.

The world around me became hazy and blurry as the sound of tires screeching and a sickening *crack* filled the air.

I stumbled over it. The force of the impact sent a shockwave through my body causing my bones to shake

The world whirled in frantic circles as pain erupted all over my body.

I tried to get up but my legs felt too heavy that I couldn't, I saw someone standing before me, voices over me .

Then everything was dark.

I couldn't remember how long that I had been unconscious but my mind was dulled by a fog of confusion that surrounded my it.

Where am I?

My eyes opened but I quickly closed them again as a searing pain pierced my skull.

My head felt as if it had been punctured by a thousand needles.

The pain held me from sitting up, so I had to lie back , my eyes unfocused and staring on the ceiling above me.

What am I doing here ? I thought to myself again.

As my vision gradually adjusted, the lights from the chandelier above me.

The soft sheets against my skin in the bed below were strange.

And I knew this wasn't my room.

My limbs felt like stone when I tried to move again.

My hands shook as I touched my head and felt the tight bandages.

I tried to remember, but they came in shards, the headlights, the burning pain of what had happened.

I sighed. Though I didn't know where I was but it felt safer to be here , to be far away from my step mother and her daughter.

The door creaked open slowly and someone was standing there staring at me.

The sight of him made my heart to skip a beat.

He was tall, with well chiseled jawline and piercing grey eyes. He was devastatingly handsome.

He strode in my direction , his presence dominating the room.

" You're awake ." He said in a rough tired voice.

My heart raced as I stared at him . He was too perfect and too handsome for his own good.

I tried to speak but the weight of what I had passed through choked me, my throat was dry and the words stuck.

My voice was barely audible as I croaked ." Where am I?"

He moved toward the bed " You're safe here, I knocked you down and brought you to my house."

I had no idea how to react. I couldn't read his intentions so I couldn't tell if I was truly safe like he said.

Should I be thankful or get angry at him?

Bur I was too tired to think clearly and I was unable to speak.

" Thank you ." I muttered, my words shaky and brittle .

He looked at me with unwavering gaze and didn't say right away.

I stared at him and was expecting to see emotions in his eyes: pain , guilt or something but his eyes were cold.

" Why were you running away or what were you running from?' he finally asked staring fixedly at me.

I swallowed hard and asked instead.

" How long ..?"

"You have been here for a week." He said folding his arms ." You still haven't answered my question."

Just when I was about to say something there was a knock on the door and after a brief silence it was pushed open and an elderly woman whom I presumed to be a maid by the way she was dressed .

"Greetings, Alpha Callum." She said and bowed slightly." The Beta of North Howl Pack requests for your presence."

My eyes bulged open.

Alpha?
