The Day She Returned

It was a morning like any other when David first saw Sarah again. He was sitting at the kitchen table, absentmindedly stirring his coffee, lost in the haze of his thoughts. The house was quiet, a familiar silence that had become his companion in her absence. As he glanced toward the window, he noticed a figure standing at the door. For a split second, his heart skipped a beat-he thought he was imagining things. But when he looked again, there she was: Sarah, standing at the threshold, looking as if she had never left.

David froze, his heart racing. His mind scrambled to make sense of what he was seeing. Had she really come back? Was this a dream? Or had he finally lost his grip on reality?
