Their father considered this for a moment, then nodded. "Very well. Lloyd, introduce William to the head of the Marketing and Advertising Department and appoint him to a managerial position."
Lloyd sighed but nodded. He pulled out his phone to contact the department head, glancing at William's casual attire-jeans and sneakers-and shook his head in disbelief.
"William, come to my office. I have spare suits and shoes. You can't possibly expect me to introduce you to the head of Marketing and Advertising dressed like that," he said, pointing at William from head to toe.
William nodded a goodbye to his father and followed Lloyd. At the next corner was Lloyd's office, marked with a sign that read CEO.
"Just the coat," William said as they entered the office.
"Just the coat? I have a complete set here. Change your attire," Lloyd insisted.
William raised an eyebrow. "Like your clothes will fit me."
Lloyd, noticeably larger than his brother, sighed. Stress from work had caused him to overeat, leaving him with no time for the gym. Meanwhile, William had maintained a lean, muscular physique, thanks to taekwondo and dirt bike racing. He even had a faint six-pack, which was visible as he removed his shirt.
"I have smaller sizes. I just gained a little weight this year," Lloyd grumbled.
William dressed in a satin-blue polo and a dark blazer, refusing to change out of his jeans and sneakers. The two made their way to the office of the Marketing and Advertising Department Head.
The secretary announced their arrival, and a jolly, middle-aged man greeted them warmly in his office.
"Good morning! What a pleasant surprise to have the CEO himself grace me with his presence," the Marketing Head greeted warmly.
I'd like to entrust my younger brother, William, to your care. He's joining the company today. Starting from now, he will be under your guidance. He wants to learn the business from the ground up, particularly about the Marketing Department. Is there a vacancy in your department where he could start as one of the managers?" Lloyd inquired.
The Head of Marketing glanced at William. He knew the Chairman had two sons but hadn't realized the youngest was this strikingly good-looking. "Well, we can accommodate him, but are you sure it's appropriate for him to join as one of the many managers we have?"
"About that," Lloyd replied, "I'd appreciate it if no one in the department knew he was the Chairman's son." He didn't want to deal with more complications than this situation was already likely to create.
"Understood," the Marketing Head nodded. "Today, I'll brief him on the main duties of the Marketing Department. As a newly appointed manager, I'll also introduce him to the team."
Lloyd smiled and patted William's shoulder before heading back to his office, leaving his brother in the Marketing Head's care.
The Marketing Head gestured for William to lead the way as a sign of respect, but William shook his head, nudging him to take the lead instead. "Remember, treat me like any other manager. I'm just here to learn."
They reached the elevator and descended to the Marketing Department. The receptionist greeted them, but the Marketing Head waved her off with a polite smile and proceeded to the center of the office. He clapped his hands to gather everyone's attention.
"Good morning, everyone. Attention, please. I'd like to introduce a new manager for our department-Mr. William. He will be placing Mr. Patrick who recently resigned."
William surveyed the room as if searching for someone. He was actually looking for Emma, but she was nowhere to be seen. Instead, he ended up flashing a warm smile at the staff, who were gawking at him in amazement.
The women in the department were abuzz, whispering excitedly about the new manager. He looked more like a movie star than a corporate employee-young, charming, and undeniably attractive.
The Marketing Head quickly calmed the group and led William to an office nearby.
"This office has been vacant for about four days since the previous manager relocated abroad. Will this work for you? I will asked the maintenance to change this they way you like it." he asked.
"Sir, I told you, there's no need to treat me differently," William reminded him.
"In that case, I'll arrange for someone from the HR to give you a tour of the building since it was your first day" the Marketing Head replied with a smile.
"Oh, no need to involve HR for that. They have more important things to deal with. Besides, I've been here long enough to know the ins and outs of this place," William said.
"But if it's necessary, how about assigning Emma Dee instead?" William added with a goofy smile, causing the Marketing Head's heart to skip a beat.
