CHAPTER 6: Sex on a stick

"Are you going somewhere?" Liam inquired, after seeing me all dressed up.

It wasn't my intention to wake him up. I was planning on just leaving quietly but somehow, he heard my movements.

I blinked multiple times, thinking of excuses I could use to get out of there. I didn't want him to feel bad that I was leaving him in the middle of the night, but I also didn't want to keep Ethan waiting.

"Um...I have to go. There's an emergency," I lied.

He rubbed his eyes, sitting up to look at me. "I don't get it, Mia. Didn't you just arrive here? Why are you leaving again?" He complained, watching me wear my shoes.

I bit my lips, thinking of another excuse to tell him. "I...I have to be home. Dad would be home from his business trip, and I don't want him asking about my whereabouts."

It wasn't a lie entirely; my dad was on a business trip, and I wanted to be the first to greet him upon his arrival. Liam didn't ask any further questions but I could tell that he was very displeased.

"It's almost as if you avoid me these days. I rarely see you around and when I do, you are always in a haste to leave," he explained.

I was filled with guilt. "I know, Liam. But I have valid reasons," I tried explaining.

He didn't look convinced by it. I thought of ways I could make it up to him. I didn't want him to think that I was taking him for granted.

"You know what?" A brilliant idea came into my mind. "What if we go out this weekend? Just the both of us, we would go away for just the weekend. We would do away with work, or anybody, especially our phones, so we have no interruptions."

He slowly looked at me, smiling sheepishly. "Are you sure you won't bail last minute?" He inquired and I nodded in response.

"All right, babe."

He pecked me on the lips, but I didn't feel that spark I felt when Ethan kissed me. I dispelled the thoughts, reminding myself that I shouldn't be thinking of Ethan when Liam was around me.

He got up, wearing his clothes. "What are you doing?" I asked.

He turned to look at me. "I'm going to drop you off. It's already so late and I don't want you driving alone by this time of the day," he stated.

I bit down on my bottom lip. There's no way I would have him drop me off at Ethan's penthouse; I had to come up with an excuse fast.

"You don't have to worry about that, Liam," I opposed. "You have work in the morning and I don't want to keep you up. It's better you just stay here and I brought my car so I would see myself out. Go back to sleep."

I left before he could say anything else. I took a sigh of relief once I was out of the apartment; I had to take some time to think because I was being unfair to Liam.

He doesn't deserve this.

I arrived at Ethan's penthouse and took off my shoes at the racks close to the door. I further walked into the living room but it was empty. Where did he go?

"Ethan. Ethan?" I called, but there was no response from him.

Why would he call me here when he knew he wouldn't be home? I had to lie to Liam and leave his house so early in the morning.

"This was a waste of time," I muttered under my breath.

"Going somewhere, princess."

His voice made me stiffen in my spot. I watched as he took slow and deliberate steps towards me, a smirk on his lips. He had a glass of whiskey in his hands. He was dressed in loose sweatpants, with no shirt on, his hair already rough.

Practically sex on a stick.

I shifted my gaze away from his exposed chest and fixed it on his face instead, trying not to let his abs be a distraction. "Why did you call for me?" I inquired.

He scoffed. "I need you, Mia. This distance is killing me, and I know you want me to, so why are we fighting it? Can't we just put the past in the past?"

He looked at me with pleading eyes. I almost fell for it and had to close my eyes, taking a few deep breaths to regain my sanity. "You fucked my best friend. Why should I forget that?" I inquired.

"Do we have to talk about that right now?" He started closing up the little distance between us, each step causing my breath to get heavier. "We can finish this up somewhere else."

Those eyes were tempting. He had his hands wrapped around my waist, locking his gaze with mine. I wanted him, I wanted him so bad but the thought of me being nothing but a toy was haunting.

"You mean a lot to me, Mia."

Those words had me melting. Before I knew it, he locked his lips with mine and I didn't fight it. I let him do what he wanted with me, his hands roaming around my body. My hands were wrapped around his neck.

"Do you want me to stop?" He looked up at me, expecting a response. One of his hands was sneaking up under my dress trailing to my clit.

"No..."

My voice was barely a whisper and that was all that he needed to take full control. He carried me up, making me wrap my leg around his torso.

"You're mine, princess. Mine."

I loved the way he claimed me as his. If anything, it turned me on more. At that moment, I forgot about everything that was bothering me. Liam and Sophie and most importantly, my dad's arrival. I just wanted Ethan and I needed him to fuck me hard.
