As they sat down to dinner, Ava couldn't help but feel like she was in a dream. The candlelight flickered, casting shadows on Julian's face. He looked handsome, sophisticated, and utterly charming.
The conversation flowed easily, like they had known each other for years. Ava found herself laughing, feeling carefree and alive.
But as the night wore on, Ava couldn't shake off the feeling that they were playing with fire. Julian was engaged, and she was his dance instructor. This was wrong, so wrong.
As they finished dinner, Julian reached out and took Ava's hand. His touch sent shivers down her spine.
"Thank you for tonight," Julian said, his eyes locked on hers. "I needed this."
Ava felt a pang of guilt, but she couldn't help the way she felt. She was falling for Julian, hard.
As they sat there, hands touching, Ava knew she had to make a choice. She could pull away, end this before it started. Or she could take a chance, risk everything for a love that could destroy them both.
As they sat there, hands touching, Ava felt like she was melting into Julian's eyes. She knew she should pull away, but she couldn't help herself.
"I should go," Julian said finally, his voice low and husky.
Ava nodded, feeling a pang of disappointment. "Yes, you should."
But instead of standing up, Julian leaned in, his lips brushing against Ava's. It was a soft, gentle kiss, but it sent shivers down Ava's spine.
As they pulled away, gasping for air, Ava knew she was in trouble. She was falling for Julian, hard.
"I'm sorry," Julian said, his eyes locked on hers. "I shouldn't have done that."
Ava shook her head, feeling a smile spread across her face. "You're not sorry," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.
Julian's eyes crinkled at the corners as he smiled. "No, I'm not."
As they sat there, looking at each other, Ava knew that she had made her choice. She was going to take a chance on Julian, no matter the cost.
But as they leaned in for another kiss, Ava's phone rang, shrill and insistent. She hesitated for a moment before answering.
"Hello?" Ava said, her voice tentative.
"Ava, it's Ashley," a cold, calculating voice said on the other end of the line. "I know what's going on between you and Julian. And I'm not going to let it happen."
Ava's heart skipped a beat as she looked at Julian, her mind racing with possibilities. What did Ashley know? And what was she going to do about it?
Ashley's voice was like ice, sending shivers down Ava's spine. "You think you can just waltz in here and steal my fiancé?" Ashley sneered. "Think again."
Ava felt a surge of fear mixed with guilt. How did Ashley know?
"What are you talking about, Ashley?" Ava tried to sound calm, but her voice trembled.
"Don't play dumb with me," Ashley spat. "I know all about your little trysts with Julian. And I'm not going to let you ruin our wedding."
Ava's mind was racing. How did Ashley find out? And what was she going to do?
"Listen, Ashley," Ava began, trying to reason with her.
But Ashley cut her off. "No, you listen. Stay away from Julian, or you'll regret it."
The line went dead, and Ava was left standing there, her heart pounding in her chest.
Julian's eyes were locked on hers, filled with concern. "What's wrong?" he asked, taking a step closer.
Ava hesitated, unsure of what to say. But as she looked into Julian's eyes, she knew she had to tell him the truth.
"It was Ashley," Ava said, her voice barely above a whisper. "She knows about us."
Julian's face went pale, and for a moment, Ava thought he might pass out.
"What did she say?" Julian asked, his voice tight with tension.
Ava took a deep breath and repeated the conversation, word for word.
Julian's eyes narrowed, his jaw clenched in anger. "I'll take care of it," he growled.
But Ava wasn't so sure. She had a feeling that Ashley was just getting started.
